Really? (warning, baby names and clothed belly pics)

Re: Really? (warning, baby names and clothed belly pics)

  • All of H's boy names are after athletes or sports venues.  No joke.

Kauffman - after Kauffman stadium in KC
McNamara - after Gerry McNamara, star player on the 2003 Syracuse basketball team.

Who names their kid McNamara? It's terrible. And he is not kidding about it. He actually thinks that will be happening.  I will hold the birth certificate hostage if I have to.
  • I love Ainsley. We don't have any good family names to work with, so we're going with Sophia and Alexis So Sophie and Lexi Fair. We love the flow of those names. No idea on middle names or boy names yet.

  • Holly - I would put my foot down if I didn't like a name DH had picked out. I think it's important that both like it.

McNamara? You could call him Mac I guess....Or not.
    image
  • Oh Holly, thats awful haha.

I really, really love Olivia but its getting really popular
  • Haha...we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I will not have a kid named Mac.
  • Roxy - DH loves Olivia too, but I said no because it's way too common now. He likes Morgan and Natalie as well. Eh, again.

  • brooke - the MD thing is actually cute!

berry - your H's names are...interesting.  At least they're not Copernicus.

I don't think I've taken any more belly pics since last week.  Want me to go take one now?

  • Sucrets - Yes.

In terms of interesting boys' names, I think Sun's DH wins with his pick of Voltron. :)

btw, DH is pushing for meds for me so that he can name our kid whatever he wants.  I told him it didn't work like that.

  • GG - Don't discount DH's picks of Darth and Kermit in the interesting boys' names category.  I've told Sun our Hs can never meet because they'd get too many weird ideas.
  • Since PIP is so much easier, I'll post the 2 that I posted last time.

  • Sucrets- yes, now!

gg- Yea, our favorite names over the years (Chloe, Sophia, Olivia..) all got really popular shortly after we picked them. Thats why I'm leaning toward Greyson

  • I would name my daughter Molly (obviously not with the middle name Mae - too cutesy) if it didn't rhyme with my name.  That would be really lame.

    That rhymed.
  • Roxy - I love the name Sophia. Love it. But DH's step-sister's name is Sophia/Sophie/Sopo/Sopiko (depends on who is talking to her), so scratch that.

This is why we must all sign a pack never to let our DHs talk to one another.

  • I love how this thread now has a warning

Holly- I like Molly but T is not a fan

gg- Yea, I was love, loving sophia/ sophie. Really though, Olivia Sloane Brady is just...so cute. Stupid popularity!
  • edited December 2009
Berry - I've thought about using Molly because it can be a nickname for Mary and FI's mom is named Mary. (His parents are Mary and Joseph - NO JOKE.)

I also like Ian, because it's Scottish for my dad's name, John.

My maternal grandmother was named Elizabeth and my paternal grandmother's middle name was Elizabeth, so I want to use that somewhere.

GG - My great-great-grandmother's name was Mae. My mom claims to have given me that middle name because of that. And because she just thought it went well with my first and last names. Great-great grandma had a sister named Jessie, which would have my brother's name if he was a girl.

I could name a girl Olivia and claim she was named after her father - FI's name is Oliver. That might be TOO cutesy.

  • Roxy - Sloane reminds me of Grey's Anatomy! Dr. Sloane. Haha.

  • My grandmas are Violet and Ruby and I'm Amber.  My grandpa is Cecil.  I love Cecil, but my mom has told me I can't use it because he doesn't like it.

  • I like the name Livia better than Olivia for some reason. I think it's because I really like the nickname Liv.
    image
  • When I was 10ish my favorite name was... Elizsabeth (yes, with both a Z and an S) Anastasia. Thank goodness I wasn't allowed to procreate then.
  • Night - Violet is my top pick, but my cousin just named his daughter Viola and I am stuck because I feel like it's way too close.

Love the name Ruby.  DH's b/f's daughter is named Ruby and she's so freakin' cute.  I like all those names!
  • gg- There's a Dr. Sloane on Greys? Hmm Greyson Sloane is probably not a good idea then. I got it fron entourage haha

Yes, I like Livia, Liv and Livvy but I'djust use those as nicknames.
