Night Owls?

Re: Night Owls?

  • Yeah... I've heard your story :( But the dress you did end up with is stunning.

I do have a plan B - Although, I was going to go shopping for the B dress this coming Thursday.  But that was before I learned the dress is supposed to be here Friday.  So now, I'm waiting - but they are on their last straw!

  • Mica- How cute! All Tiny wants to do is lay around, its a task trying to get him to exercise! I don't think he would even notice if we moved into an apartment lol.

AATB- No yip yips, they will make you hate your life and are really hard to train! Get a  goldendoodle (hehe I just said that because I love the name goldendoodle).

Ok sorry I have now posted this picture 3 times on here today. Its the only recent one I have.

  • Our property management company has a 30 lb limit on dogs - ideally, I'd like one that's maybe 20-25 lbs.  Ben loves teeny little mixes.  Like chi-weenies.  7 damn lbs.  No.  Just... no.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Night Owls? : Why not go on Thursday anyway?  If you find one you like as a aplan b then you will be ready if they screw you again and it doesn't come ine.

Because the place I'd be going is an hour and a half drive, and I don't want to miss a day of work unless I absolutely have to.  I've been having to take days off here and there to plan the wedding (I live three hours from my hometown, where the wedding is) and I'm taking a few days off around the wedding as well.  I want to have time left over for a honeymoon, hopefully next spring.  Bah.

  • Oh yah, I just looked and saw you commented on my other post lol.

AABT- Push that 30lb max to the limit! If they say 30lbs go for 31.5lbs! If you get a little 5lb dog I will come to your house and make chi-weenie tacos out of that dog.

Fun Fact: I also like the name chi-weenie. If I could re-name Tiny, I would consider naming him doodle or TaDoodle.

You are a hilarious little woman :)

I love the name Tiny for a Great Dane.  I guess it would be okay if we had a tiny yap-ass dog and named him Chainsaw or something.  But I agree with you on the pushing the weight limit :)  Little dogs just make me uncomfortable.

They make you feel like that on purpose. There is nothing more awkward then stepping on your FI's (then H) little yip yap dog and having it cry and run to daddy, you don't know if you should apologize or laugh. Its a difficult battle. I always wear teni-shoes to peoples houses that I know have little dogs, if you wear heels you can potentially take off a toe.

AATB, I guess you can always take a day off on Monday to dress hunt if the dress doesn't arrive on Friday?

and Mica, it's a really long story! Basically I was given the run-around about where my dress was when I started enquiring... turned out the store owner had only ordered it at that point (aka a couple of months out from my wedding) and had obviously forgotten to place the order when I'd paid my deposit months earlier... The store owner wasn't upfront with me on this, but I eventually called the manufacturer who told me when the dress had been ordered. I then confronted her and demanded a refund/substantial discount. She freaked out and hired a lawyer to respond to my email (she was worried I was going to talk to the media about my experience, I think). Said lawyer began calling me demanding I sign confidentiality agreements in exchange for the dress- which still hadn't arrived at this stage, 2 weeks out from my wedding- and when I refused that, said lawyer started calling me saying things like, 'you're ten days out from your wedding with no dress' and claiming that the dress was arriving that week and I could have it without signing the confidentiality agreement if I paid for both her legal costs and the amount remaining on the dress... It was completely ridiculous- he was just trying to bully me into signing the agreement, which I wouldn't do.

The lawyer told me the dress arrived the week before the wedding, but they refused to let me inspect it unless I was going to agree to their 'offer', so for all I know it actually never arrived on time at all. It was hugely stressful and ridiculous. I never got my $700 deposit back, although I could have taken her to court for it... but I just was over the stress. We went through mediation on the issue (and I reported her to our equivalent of the BBB), but never resolved it, with small claims court being the only option. It's just too time consuming and in the end I found a beautiful gown, so I decided to let it go.

Holy crap that was a huge novel, I'm sorry! I told you it was a long story!

  • Anyway, now I have ranted and relived my dress trauma, I'd best head off to pick up Nick from the train station! Have a great night girls!

I think it was more painful to those of us watching it tonight. That is all.

  • It would have to be later in the week - because the Monday after this coming Friday is the day before elections - and I'm a reporter, so we will be ridiculously busy :)

Hopefully I won't have to worry about it though.  Fingers are crossed!

I'm off to bed now too ladies - have a good night!  And good morning, Sun :)
