This exactly.  I don't like extremes on either end of the spectrum.  I'd like some level headed moderates please.

Yeah but from what they are saying she is trailing by less points than Scott Brown was, so in reality she does have a chance.

But like you, I dont know much about the politics in that state.  They are saying that if she does win it will be the second biggest Dem upset since Brown.

There's some of this happening in IN, only with a few Dems, who seem to be rallying on some sort of Republican platform just to get voted in. Barf. Either stick to what you believe in, or don't run at all. I'd rather have kittens running the government than people who don't stand up for what they believe in or compromise their morals.

yes, she won. but she knows she doesn't stand a chance of winning the seat. so for the greater good of the party, she should have conceded, IMO. what good does it do her to win the primary if she doesn't stand a chance of winning the seat?

I have to disagree.  The Tea Party has been pretty successful with the candidates that they back.  Especially given the fact that they are a new movement.  Right or wrong, people are pissed and want change.

I don't know, they are kinda getting a little out of hand. I'm a Libertarian and was on board with the Tea Party idea at first. But it seems that the ones who are getting the most press are extreme, which I think is hurting the overall image of the Tea Party and of course, making most non-Tea Partiers hate them. And those crazy TP'ers make me want to run for the hills, just so my good name doesn't get thrown in with them.
  • and I know, I brought it up, but I was curious as to whether other republicans thing O'Donnell is too "out there." so many people in my family like her and other tea party-backed candidates, and I just don't get it.

one thing i like about tea party candidates is that most of them seem to have a lot of history in the private sector. on the flip side, since they are coming from the private sector they don't usually have any sort of voting record voters can analyze. we have to take them at face value, which is scary. i voted for the tea party supported candidate in our republican primary for FL governor, but only because polling showed he stood the greatest chance of winning overall and because he has proven he can run a multi-billion dollar business successfully and can create jobs. on top of that, the career politician on the ticket was very low on campaign funds and Big Sugar was funneling money to him to keep him afloat. Yeah, no thanks. Not going to vote for the guy who is going to owe Big Sugar his right arm if he does win. i don't have any major problems with the democrat in that race, except she panders to teacher's unions a lot and her commercials do not tell me what she stands for. as an unemployed peon right now, hearing a candidate's plans to create jobs is important to me.

  • yeah, i know all the major parties have big money backers, but to see an entire industry throw a lot of money at one particular candidate and run ads for him the week of the primary was a bit much for me. it really made him stand out as a career politician.

btw, where is fishy. i asked her about gaga, ffs. is she ignoring me???
  • I think fishy is learning the Alejandro dance somewhere.
    no? just me?
  • i don't want to talk about health insurance. i got laid off because our two biggest clients decided to majorly cut costs 4th quarter in anticipation of Obamacare and are going to stop outsourcing a lot of services. sigh. i've never been laid off before. it doesn't feel good. i know i'll bounce back, but i feel like i'm in such a rut right now and i don't know what to do.

people keep getting into my head and telling me i should take advantage of this break to have babies. i'm actually considering it. (i'm covered under the hubby's insurance, before you tell me off, marriedfilingjointly, for wanting a baby when i'm unemployed lmao!) i don't even like kids, but now i want one. i'd better like my own damn baby or i'm going to give it to my mom. ;)

i'm clearly rambling so i don't have to pack for my trip to Helen, GA in the morning.
