We're in a townhouse - no yard at all, so we have to go out every time they have too... my 5 year plan of living in a townhouse isn't working out too well...
We didn't get a dog until we lived in a house. And the electric fence went in when she was 6 months old after I had to chase her down the street in my workout gear (short shorts and sweaty tank top) when she ran away from me.
Good. Have you had any yet? I just baked more today and sent them in H's package that I dropped off at the post office today. His Christmas gifts are on the way!
Yeah that's how we first tried them too, and got hooked.
We have the Halfway Party this Friday, and its supposed to be 80's prom attire, but I don't do theme parties so I'm just going to dress up a bit. But hardly any of my dress pants fit my fatass right now, and I forgot all my dresses at my parents house when we moved, except of course for the light summer sun dresses which don't work. So this will be interesting on Friday.
What is a Halfway party? Halfway til they come home? And I just looked in my dress closet - there is a size 2 dress in there. I could feel it laughing at me. The sad thing is it's really not that old.
Yes, its to celebrate the deployment being approximately half over. Which is awesome since H has only been gone about a month, so its a short deployment for him. Everyone else left with the ship about 2 months earlier.
Oh man I've never been a size 2 in my life. Haha that dress would cover one thigh.
Yeah I need to get back on the workout routine big time. I just honestly hate it. I used to play volleyball several nights a week and that helped, but now I've just gotten really lazy.
I do a few different Jillian Michaels DVD's in my living room. Our winter project is to redo the basement, and we are going to get an elliptical and a set of free weights and put our current TV (and get a new one - YAY) down there with a DVD player. maybe one other weight machine kind of thing and have a home gym in the basement - hopefully it will be finished by next spring.
Thats my problem too. I hate just going to the gym, its so boring. I would play soccer or other sports 7 days a week though easily. At home I used to be on soccer, softball, and football teams and would play each once a week at least. Here I do nothing. There is a softball league on base that starts in the spring so I told H to start recruiting a team on the ship.
H and I used to hike with the dog 3 or 4 nights a week. I miss that, but he's working more hours now than he ever has in the past and I'm just not motivated to go out and hike in the woods alone - even with a 90 lb dog.
ETA - and walking around the block by the house is boring.
There is a bar right by my work that does indoor sand volleyball leagues - I've been trying to get a group from work to do it. But I'm a snot and only want to play with people who are good
I like that it takes just under 15 minutes to walk around the entire complex. I'm sure I could do it in 10 alone but my dog has to stop and pee on everything. And I feel too guilty to go for a walk and not bring him. So I try and walk it twice in a row if its not raining, and do it twice a day. I would love to do it 3 times a day but it gets dark so early, and the one part is a creepy curve into nothing but bushes that scares me at night.
When H lived in the city, we played on volleyball and softball leagues. Maybe I shouldn't have dragged him out of the city - we walked everywhere and we so much more active. I can walk to absolutely nothing now. Well if I was really ambitious I could walk to the ski/tubing hill in the winter. Oh well.
I absolutely hate walking around my neighborhood at night. There is a lot of open land behind us with a commercial rail line, so I get a little freaked. I had a scary experience outside my house a year or 2 ago, so I'm always paranoid.
And yesterday there was a note in the paper how a jogger had been grabbed in our area. She got away, but scary.
Yeah that's how the street up to Target is. There is a strip of it with woods and shrubs and I always think when I walk by it how someone could grab me and pull me into the bushes and nobody would see me. There is pretty regular traffic on that road because its the only road in and out of the complex, but still it creeps me out enough during the day, and I would never go near it alone at night.
Haha they make cops (at least in my hometown) be tasered themselves before they can carry one. One of my best friends is a city cop and other cops in his academy class videotaped him getting tasered. They put it on youtube I'll have to try and find it.
