oh sweet god - me niether.

Especially the ones all decked in their fancy hats, colorful scarves, and knee high boots who have to ask the quarterback as he walks off the field at the half "how do you think your offense will handle the defense's adjustments to your new zone?" (or whatever the hell sounds football intelligent).

You look - and sound - ridiculous.

My mom pierced my ears at 3 months. People thought I was a boy because I was bald and I guess she thought earrings would make me more girly. I'm sure I screamed and wailed at the time, but I don't care about it now. I don't remember it, so I don't consider it to be a big deal. And you can barely even see the holes, probably because I barely wear earrings.

I can see this point. But at the same time, I wouldn't want anyone to go to extreme measures to save my life (if it would never be the same - think Terry Schiavo) or keep me alive well into my 90s if I had to live on a respirator or something. Same with my pets. (And this is someone who just spent a lot of money and hospital stays on her cat.) At some point, you have to do what's best, even if that means you stop trying. Note: I have never had a miscarriage and I have no idea if I'll be able to get pregnant. But FI and I have agreed that if it doesn't work out, at some point we'll say, "Well, we gave it a shot." And look into adoption.

But people draw the line at different places.

  • I don't mind the vuvuzelas (the horns that make the buzzing noise at all the World Cup games) and think everyone should STFU about them. It's a soccer game - it's noisy. Deal.

And I'm on the bandwagon of if you don't usually like soccer, don't act like you suddenly care SO MUCH now, and also please don't act like you know anything about it. I'm all for there being new fans, but when you argue with me without knowing the rules, I think you're an idiot.

I think it's annoying how everyone is complaining about them now. Like they don't appear at EVERY soccer game in South Africa. But again, I guess it's because people only watch soccer during the world cup. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif" border="0" alt="Undecided" title="Undecided" />

And I also think people who like Cristiano Ronaldo are idiots. I can't help myself. I just feel that way.

I don't understand people who don't either watch or read the news. I just don't get them - how can you not?

There's a difference between people getting into the World Cup who don't generally follow football, and those BAJILLIONS of people who insist they watch it all the time and know all the rules, even though when they argue with you they know nothing about current standings and clubs, and even less about the rulebook. I think that's what EIC was going for.

[QUOTE] I wish people would do more research and realize these aren't animals you can keep locked up in a cage all day if they scream or make a mess.  They are highly intelligent, social animals that NEED to be a part of the family.  They will mentally and physically suffer if they are not cared for properly.  And most of them will be in your household far longer than your own child will.

Also, take out "cell phone" and insert "children."
