Steffi -- Just out of curiousity, did you mace the dog while it was casually walking around your property? Or when it was actively chasing your horse? NOT THAT EITHER IS OKAY. I'm just curious.
    Posted by cfaszews25
Only when it was chasing the horse or cats. I carried a whip around the property to protect myself. I also carried my 15' whip around when doing farm chores and used that to defend my mare while she ate.

I consider getting knocked down and the dog jumping on me while I'm laying there and not being able to get up because he keeps knocking me down as a mauling. I'm not overly fond of being knocked on my ass in the gravel when I'm dressed for work.

  • Steffi all you had to do was call the cops.  When the landlord said he would enact the nusiance clause in your contract, then you go to the lawyer to block your eviction!  Technically, you could stop paying your rent, then file for bankruptcy and your landlord would still have a hell of a time kicking you out of the house!  Kicking any tenant out of a property is much harder than it sounds.

Also, you are an evil person.

The landlord thinks the horse chasing is funny. I then consulted an attorney after my cat had injuries, dog chased horse unmercifully into a lather, I got thrown, and I got knocked down going out to my car on my way to work a few times. I desperately wanted out of my lease and wanted to leave. As it stands, we are out next month.

Nowhere in this does it say "I called animal control." Why didn't you do that? I'd think the worst the landlord could do if they were pissed b/c you called animal control is evict you, and it sounds like that'd be welcome anyways since you were wanting out because of all this.

  • Steffi, I'm sure everyone has read that you made other efforts prior to macing the dog. However, "well, I tried this, this, and this.. time to mace the dog!" is not a rational thinking pattern. It's incredibly cruel. Get an airhorn, get a dog whistle. There are so many humane options to make the dog "uncomfortable" enough on your property to stay away without torturing it.

  • Steffi, please call the police and/or animal control.  Your neighbors sound irresponsible, they're not doing their dog any favors.  You landlord thinks it's funny to watch a dog torment your animals?  You LL and neighbor sound like horrible people.  Don't punish the dog for their bad behavior.  Have you asked your attorney about quiet enjoyment/breaking the lease early?

Oh, and because this is FFF, this week EJ has reminded me of a trying-too-hard with worse (if possible) advice version of Kristin #s.

WHY have you not answered the question as to why you haven't called the cops yet?  That should have been the first thing if your neighbors/landlord were being so unaccomodating.  That dog cannot help if its poorly trained. Inflicting pain onto it isn't going to help anything.
  • Steffi?  Exactly how full of shiiit are you?  Your stories gather more and more details as they roll on toward the end of the cliff.  Anytime anyone mentions something, you have a one up story on them.  And frankly, not long before your macing story, you were flamed horrible for wanting to "euth" your cats.  How would you think sharing the macing story would go over any better?  You had to have known it would cause drama.  So, either you're a freaking liar who just wants more and more attention, or you're just so damn stupid it's not worth even acknowledging you.
