Yepp. But it's not surprising since it seems logical that wedding planning would be the most common confession on the NEY board.
I've been wanting to play Confessions on here for a while... but I didn't want to be the one to bring it up since I hadn't ever seen it played on NEY. Mine isn't terrible, but it's shallow. I want a Tiffany ring. I've read all the posts about how you're just paying for a brand name, and I would never ask BF for one but I secretly really want one.
    Posted by heyimbren
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who wants a Tiffany ring! Shallow I know... but oh so pretty!

Audgie- Totally understandable for wanting her dead... that is such a horrible thing to do, but I'm so glad that your daughter is okay now! Hopefully she'll go to jail for that!

Confession: I really don't want to plan a wedding.  REALLY don't want to.  But I love the idea of having friends and family come together in Hawaii to celebrate and have fun.  Before I joined NEY and got engaged I did look at venues in Maui, dresses, flowers and etc.  Never contacted any vender just A LOT of research.  So much that I would waste time doing so at work.  Productivity was almost null.  Though I got my work done.  Anyways after joining NEY I stopped all the looking and researching. And now that I'm engaged I don't even want to think about the planning process, I am giving myself till January then start planning.  I want to enjoy being engaged and the holiday season.  Tho I am very tempted to elope.  Sounds dreamy...

I don't think I really have anything too juicy. I was looking at vendors before I was engaged. It made everything go really speedy once we got engaged. We didn't actually use any of the vendors I was looking at though, but it still gave me an idea of people and prices in my area. I never contacted them. Since I went to MIL's work I knew I wanted that for my venue. DH had also said that he wanted to get married there, so it was a mutual decision that we made before being engaged. I loved drooling over wedding dresses online before I was engaged.

Honestly I was kind of disappointed with my ring when I first received it. I knew DH was going through Blue Nile and I was looking at various styles on there and the ring I got I remembered seeing and hoping it wasn't that ring. I also thought my center stone was going to be bigger because of comments that DH always made.

I am honestly a little jealous when I see people from the board here commenting about being FB friends and having a more personal relationship.

I actually like the board better the way it is now compared to several months ago, and I find it sometimes annoying when people talk about how it "used to be".  Well, things change, people change, and you're welcome to stay in touch with the same people on Facebook or via email, but I got sick of seeing new people get run out of here simply because they were overly excited.  Sure, a lot of people (myself included) needed a little crazy talked out of them, but the exclusivity of this board really pissed me off.  I think it's more open and friendly now.

Even our MOD is admitting that she looked at vendors before she was engaged.  Did she contact them?  Nope.  Did the world end?  Nope.

Loopy, I'd be happy to be your Facebook friend!  I've always thought you were a sweetie.  I'll PM you my real name, if you can find me.

Personally, my guess is that people (some not all) on here have always been some bit of BSC, but just not owned up to it because of the dynamics of the board. IMO if you really aren't dreaming about/researching something about your wedding how do you end up on The Knot?

This exactly! Everyone is a little BSC. I've looked at venues and whatnot online. I like the board much better now than when I first started posting. I think there is a line when it comes to dreaming and looking at things and sometimes we get girls who cross the line and are BSC but I don't anything on here has been that bad.

Confession #2- I have a friend whose girlfriend who decided that she wanted to get married to him so she stopped taking her BCPs and actually poked holes in a few condoms hoping she'd get pregnant so he would have to marry her. Thankfully, she didn't get pregnant! I now feel awkward around them because he is my bf's best friend and she's obviously crazy... I want to tell him about it, but it's not my place to do so...

I ended up on TK because I wanted to help out my engaged friend, that's the honest truth. I stuck around because I found the boards interesting when I was lurking. I miss the regs for this board, honestly. I liked the dynamic I saw. You guys just seemed to click, and your opinions made sense to me. So yeah, I miss the way it used to be when I was just lurking but I know I never would have been part of the "group".

OH yeah I forgot about this one. But I do have another confession. After lurking here I figured I would be flammed for my age so I lied and said I was 20. I was 19. I turned 20 in july. It wasn't a very big lie but I figured it would just be easier to not have the "teen" thing get me flammed.

I judge people's engagement rings. I'll always say they are nice or pretty or gorgeous or what have you, even if I think they are ugly. I also judge small rings. It doesn't mean I don't think your FI loves you. But I would be disappointed if my ring ended up being smaller than a carat.

I know I try to be all calm and collected about waiting to get engaged, and even though it's totally unrealistic and most likely detrimental for me right now to get engaged at 20, I still REALLY, REALLY want to.

Bren- I also came here when I was helping my sister plan her wedding. I started lurking off and on. I definitely remember how it use to be as well. They really did have a good dynamic and they all seemed to complement each other very well...

I do the same thing. Actually I have thought everything in this post. I think all of my friends' engagement rings are ugly. I would never tell them that though! And I really want to be married. I would do it tomorrow if BF was up for it.

I'm kind of the opposite.  I judge people when I know they've spent a lot of money (like, more than 5,000) on their ring.  For some reason, it just makes no sense to me to spend that kind of money on a piece of jewelry.

About FB and all that. May not be safe, but I really am not bothered by "random internet strangers" being my friend on FB. I mean I still don't accept random friend requests. I have everything set really private because I didn't want my psycho ex finding me. I would randomly search for him to block him before he could find me. I failed. He found me anyhow. I then blocked him.
