Gasparilla is a Tampa tradition. Something about lots of boats pretending to be pirate ships and parades and stuff. All part of Tampa's proud Caribbean pirate tradition. I think it's our sad answer to NO's Mardi Gras. There apparently is bead throwing and lots of drinking.
You could never be a creeper, Eags ♥ Um, Gasparilla is when the pirates invade I guess? There are a few races associated with it, and I think an arts festival and maybe some other stuff. I just go for the parade and the beads. It's a good time of drunken debauchery.

Even if it's not Mardi Gras, I'm still excited about my first Gasparilla. H has fond memories of driving over from St. Pete as a kid to try to get alcohol. :P Apparently there are krewes and everything.
I'm actually off work today, so I thought I would pop in and catch up on everyone.
Quick update on me: Job is good, hours suck but that should be changing soon. Chef D is good, but starting to live up to his breed reputation of being stubborn. They are filming "DOGFIGHT" on my block all week and it causing problems with his potty training because he is over-stimulated with all the trucks, generators, food, people, cables, etc. They literally have trucks on every street surrounding my building and the next blocks over. I only have a small radius I feel safe for him to go before he gets all of his shots. So it's been a little bit of a challenge. Then he is so damm cute EVERYONE from the grip guys to the extras to caterers (who btw are cooking right outside our front door) love him so we can't go more than 10 feet before someone wants to pet him. It's going to be a long week.
How is everyone else?
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
Mormon ladies! The phone is ringing off the hook at work. I feel like I'm in a call center. Sucks.
Anyhoo, H and I got new to us cars this weekend, I can't post a pic from my phone but one is a Mazda3 hatchback and the other is a 2008 Nissan Versa hatchback. Apparently we like the hatchbacks.
We're coming to FL Feb 21-27, yay!!
Today is not off to a good start. It's pouring rain, Cooper had an accident and I fell down the stairs. I'm not hurt, but I did it in front of lots of witnesses.
Also, I was pretty stupid last week and skipped my ASL class. Bad move. I have a test tomorrow, and there is no way I'm prepared for it.
FML. My reception booked two people for me at the same time. They are both 60 minute evaluations. I cannot do two 60 minute evaluations simultaneously. I guess I'm missing my noon meeting.
I would think there are some religious groups that are against the wearing of lingerie for modesty purposes, but I can't imagine there are any against accepting it graciously and then donating it or giving it away.
Going from 80 degrees for 8 days to 13 degrees is quite the bite in the ass. Blurgh. I start classes today -- currently waiting for my first one to start. I don't have any of my books yet though (won't be able to purchase til the end of the week when my loans come in) so this will be a fun week!
I've never done community accupuncture before Eagles but I have a few friends that have and they say it's not bad at all. It's still really quiet and such.

Fezzy, I am emailing my uncle today about trying to find a week in June to go down your way! I really hope I get to meet Baby Fezz too if I go late enough,

Rachers, I have been walking/running on a treadmill with FI this week and I think that may be why I'm tired. I'm so out of shape it's not even funny.

Has some bodacious pirate costumes. We have a Pirate Celebration in the 1000 islands annually. Now I want to go to Tampa for their party!
