My FI and I are having non-traditional music at our wedding to honor our love for all kinds of music.  We decided to dance to "Smile" by  Uncle Kracker.  I wanted to do a dance, but he doesn't dance much.  It fits us perfect.  It's not too fast but slow enough to dance to with out having to bust a move.

We're going to be dancing to either "Sous le Vent" by Garou or "Gotta Be Somebody" by Nickleback. We're both horrible dancers, so we're going to have a photo montage of us (baby pics to know) playing on the wall behind us so that hopefully people will pay attention to that instead of us tottering back and forth like a couple of penguins!

my sister heard this song for the first time when she was 12 and from then on she said this would always be her wedding song.  she isn't married, and isn't even close to being married, but my brother is and he decided he wanted this song too.  my sisters heart is broken.

but it is a beautiful song

I'm gunning for "Thank You" by Led Zepplin (we are such 70's-80's throwbacks :^) ).

But other songs I'm also thinking about are
Fade Into You - Mazzy Star
    Not Enough Time-  INXS
    All I Want is You - U2

    Still looking for other options.....

A friend of mine used Alicia Keys "Noone" which I would have done but my fiance does not love it. I also love Alicia's other songs "If I Ain't Got You"

We're probably going to go with 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz....  We wanted something fun and we're going to have the DJ invite everyone to join us a little after half way.

"The Keeper of the Stars" by Tracy Byrd. It's an old country song, but we love that it refers to thanking the "keeper of the stars" for "joining these 2 hearts" and that he knew what he was doing "long before we ever knew". Its beautiful, especially if you're religious!

We are in the same boat...My fi wants an Alabama song SHE AND I  or  ENTERNAL FLAME by The Bangles very old stuff but we've known each other since we were kids...I like Shania Twain song FROM THIS MOMENT... I'm really not into country music or the oldies but I'll bend for him...My fi is not asking for much so I'm inclined to work this out ... Good Luck

Ryan Adams 'My love for you is real' is amazing. I would use that as our first dance if my dad wasn't performing our song.

It's being used a lot right now, but we're using "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes.  It's our song, and it's so sweet, I don't mind that it's becoming everyone else's song, too.  Cool

Oh!  I also recommend "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon.  It's not super slow, but it's still super sweet.

That is the song that my fiance proposed to me with when we were in Vegas. He got to pick the song that the water show at the Billiago went off to. That is going to be our first dance song I believe.

I love "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone, but prefer the Michael Buble version. It's definitely in the jazz category. Has some upbeat and slower pieces so it would be a good one to do a coreographed dance to. My fiance vetoed it though.
