too early for a night thread?

Hi!!  H has been home for a week.  He leaves EARLY Wednesday morning to go back to work.  I have to take him to the airport at o'dark thirty.  Not really looking forward to that.
It got chilly here again.  I'm nervous the predicted frost tonight is going to kill the flowers on my dwarf dogwood tree out front.
H is going for wings tonight with the boys so I'm solo for the rest of the night with plans to catch up on some TV shows and Knot.  What's everyone else up to?

  • I'm nervous about the frost too. We just planted a tree over the weekend, and I'm afraid it will die if it gets too cold.

We ordered out for dinner. I got a calzone and they messed my order up but I'm too hungry to wait for a new one.

  • Hi!  I just got back a little bit ago from seeing HG and I absolutely loved it!  Now I'm debating if I want anything for dinner or just want to snack later.

  • Hello. I just got home from a training which I have to attend part 2 on Wednesday. I'm trying to get updated in different areas so that I can be more marketable. I picked up some unhealthy fast food on the way home for dinner.

  • We're going to see HG tomorrow night.  So Excited!!

Pasta and wine sound good, but my wine is packed.  as are my pots and pans.  I'm supposed to be moving to MIL's Wednesday as we were going to rent our house to our friend and his GF, but that might fall through now, so I might have to UNPACK a few things in order to keep living here.  We'll see.
  • My cat and I are about to have problems. She licked the stickyness off some of my silhouette mat.
  • Evening ladies!

FI and I just finished dinner. We had tofu lasagna and a spinach salad :) Now that yall mentioned wine though, I feel like that would have made it better. I'm trying to convince FI to make a grocery run for me to get sugar so I can make sorbet.
  • I'm more of a lurker than a reg but can I join the conversation?

I'm taking a break from assembling invitations.  My back is killing me from hunching over...oops.  I'm debating opening a bottle of wine.  The only one I have is a sweet red though.  Should it be chilled or no?  Red usually isn't, but it's sweet so I don't know.
  • Hi! I'm just sitting here, doing my seating chart. Should be making dinner, but I'm kind of preferring sitting in front of my computer and eating chips and guacamole.

Aryn, tofu lasagna?! That sounds great!

KellyS - hi! I actually didn't know this, but red wine is supposed to be slightly chilled, like just below room temperature. I personally think that's kinda weird, so I'd just open that bottle as is!

  • Welcome KellyS - I probably wouldn't chill the wine, sweet or otherwise.

Throw it in a blender with some ice and make a wine slushie. Problem solved <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

Ha!  Apparenty I don't either since I had to ask :)

Thanks!  I think I'll open it then since it isn't chilled.

Loopy - where in NE Ohio are you from?

    Hmmm...interesting thought!
  • Been a lousy couple of days. Just got back for a run. I really gotta buckle down on this. My diet has been totally derailed over the past couple of weeks. I feel gross.
  • Sweet red wine is generally chilled.  What kind is it?

    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • I keep my wine in my basement so it's usually a good temp for it.

GUAC!!  Beam some to me in Ohio please :).
  • Evening. To the ladies with plant issues could you cover them? We cover ours when the rare cold front comes through.

Kelly- I would open the wine as is.

I just made some pizza rolls for dinner didn't want to cook. Now you ladies have me wanting wine might send FI to the store for some.

  • It's Max Dornfelder.  Never had it before, but the guy in the wine section at a little specialty grocery market suggested it.  It's decent.  I suppose I can get it down ;)
  • That's exciting Musu. Puppies are great.

  • MuSu!!!  YAY!!  New Puppy - when will you get it?  Do you know if it'll be a boy or a girl?

KellyS - A suburb of Cleveland.  How about you?
  • Evening ladies.  I'm trying to finish my annotated bibliography but I keep finding mistakes in my citations.  Ugh.  I'll be glad when I hand this in and I can just work on the paper instead of endlessly describing the source material.

  • MuSu - what kind of puppy?

Loopy - down toward the Akron Canton Airport
  • A wine slushie would compliment my guac quite well.

And Loopy -- it's fresh from the Mexican supermarket a couple miles away from my place. I basically can't go in there without buying some.

Daff - I was supposed to go running tonight. The slight dip in temperatures totally scared me off. I'm a wimp.
