Good Morning?

Re: Good Morning?

• That's crazy Les!
• Good luck on the interview, Mr. Steph!

There was a shooting at a shady biker bar recently.  Two guys (Army sergeants) were arrested immediately, and DD's friend was arrested after.  I don't know if these other guys are people he works with, or was just hanging around with at the bar, but all three are charged in the murder.  Not many details yet.  It's crazy.
Good morning. Huh.  I always thought 'freestyle' = front crawl.  omg.  My daughter has a guy friend (not a BF) who has been arrested for murder.  First Degree MURDER.  I'm in shock - this guy has been at our house dozens of times over the past 1-2 years.  Whatthehell. Anyway, happy Friday!  We're going to hit the backyard renovation hard this weekend.  I'm so sick of 3/4 of the yard looking like crap.

• Les that's really awful!  When stuff like that happens it makes me want to go back and figure out if there were any signs or if there's any way I think that person could REALLY do it.  One of the history teachers at my junior high was loved by all and he was the girls basketball coach.  Turns out he was videotaping under the girls skirts and while they changed in his classroom (locker room) before practice.

WTF.  I didn't want to believe it but the proof was in the pudding.  Then I went back and was like... well he was an a$$ to all of the male students and he always made the girls sit in front because of the skirts (Catholic school).  Still, it's just weird.  I can only imagine what you all are feeling right now!
• In Response to Re:Good Morning?:
I got into a debate with my H about the Olympics fanfare/music. For some reason, the first few notes sound like quot;O, Canadaquot; to me don't hate me, Canadian friends, and my H was like quot; No, that's the British national anthem, since the Olympics are in London this yearquot;. I said quot; No, they play thatnbsp;fanfare musicnbsp;every Summer Olympics, that's why it has always has confused me, ever since I was a kidquot;. He still maintained that it was quot;God Save The Queenquot;, but that sounds like quot;My Country, Tis Of Theequot; or vice versa, since I think God Save The Queen is older, right?. Anyway, needless to say, it wasn't worth the battle to me, so I'll just continue to let him think he's right, even though I know he's wrong. Posted by mehgank
The Olympic theme and fanfare was written by John Williams for the 1984 LA Olympics. The first three notes are the same as the first three notes of "O Canada" but I'm pretty sure that's just a coincidence. "America", or "My Country Tis of Thee", is the same tune as "God Save the Queen", which was adopted in Britain in the 18th century, composer uncertain. Fun fact, the melody of the Star Spangled banner was originally a British drinking song.

Yeah, after our discussion, I looked all that up, but by then he was already out of town on business and I think it'd be petty of me to bring it up when he gets back. It's good to know that I was justified in my confusion about the first few notes of those two songs being similar.

• Ben hates his job, too.  And he's still looking and still not finding anything right now.  It's so frustrating :(

Morning all.  I signed up on myfitnesspal.com yesterday; I have like 10-20 vanity pounds I want to get rid of and I'm noticing with my diet and my exercise I'm really going to have to be pretty strict with myself if I want to achieve that.  I've never really tried to lose weight before - the best diet I ever went on was having mono in high school, lol.  I'm going to be tracking my food and activity pretty closely this next week to get a feel for it, and then after our vacation trip to the TC next weekend I'm going to be pretty strict with myself.  I think it's going to be a pain in my ass, lol.  Gah.

Oh I got paid today, yay!  Putting it all on my credit card, boo.

• That is absolutely crazy Les holy hairy ballsacks.  Ya think you know somebody!!

A nursing classmate of a good friend of mine was arrested and charged with murder a few years ago in my college town.  It was so scary - my friend was so adamant that they was no way he could have done it.  The more I followed the trial, the more I believed her.  He was acquitted.  It was so insane.

That is a fun fact!
I got drunk a few weeks ago and decided to sing the anthem as annoyingly as possible. I dragged it on for like 2 minutes and managed to seriously piss off my sisters, H and like 7 other people. Maybe I knew in my heart it's history as a British drinking song.

• AATB-  I'm having a really hard time with my dieting right now as well. I'm only looking to lose maybe 5-7 lbs (mostly just tone up) and it seems to not be doing anything.
• That's crazy, les.A guy down the street from my mom was charged with murdering his GF. It was a crazy story because he killed her there and left the body, then was only caught after a high-speed chase through my town (1.5 hours away) and his car flipped. Oh, and he has no legs. Well, no use of them anyway, and his car wasn't modified so no one knows how he was driving.

Ugh, We just got called into a meeting. I have a feeling we are about to get yelled at for an hour about how much everyone on this team sucks and should be ashamed of themselves for even existing. Yay.

I hate that your company speaks to you guys this way. Anytime we have meetings, as supervisors we're encouraged to start off on a positive note and end with a positive note. The meat and potatoes of the meeting could be negative (stop gossiping, coming in on the weekends, communication, etc) but if it's nothing but coming down on the junior personnel and no positive points, then we get in trouble.

And Sesh as one of the highest producers, why are you even in this meeting? Shouldnt the F-ups be the only ones called in to the office?

I have no experience enterpretting dreams, but I'm interested in yours. I have a few recurring dreams that I've looked up in the past (cats, my teeth falling out, and major distasters/catastrophes involving large bodies of water).

Being vague Brandi, spill.

I dreamnt about my BFF 2 days in a row, I finally called her, she finally closes on her house next week. She's been waiting since March (short sale).

• Ugh I had a terrible dream last night that involved people trapped in a car that was sinking into the ocean (I don't know why but like water flooded the beach and was swallowing their car).  Then all that was left was this lady and right as they reached her the car went under and no one could get her.  FI was standing next to me and I just kept screaming, and woke up.  SO weird.

I also had a dream of FI dying before.  That was pleasant.
• Oh and to actually answer your question Brandi and not just talk about myself per usual, no.  But I wish I was I was knowledgeable about all of that stuff.  My mom can be pretty good at it.  I just google my dreams and sometimes it makes sense with what they provide but mostly, no.
• I don't really think about meanings to dreams.  I think our dreams are mostly comprised of crap we encounter IRL and then they show up randomly in our dreams.

My mom and aunt both had dream books they got as gifts from my witchy-great-grandmother though, and they had a bizarre experience related to finding the meanings of their dreams which led them to destroying the books.  So yeah, for some reason, I don't think we are supposed to really know.
panther
• Sorry, wasn't trying to be vague... I just didn't want to wall of text if no one cared!

In the dream I am driving my car to work.  It's raining and there is a lot of traffic.  I am trying to get over into the right lane because my exit is coming up but no one is interested in letting me over.  I finally get into a spot to get over and it's right before the exit so I try to cut over and take it quickly.  I run directly into a concrete median head on and start to flip over.  This is where it gets weird.  It goes really slow motion. I don't feel any pain, and I'm not scared at all. I'm watching myself flip over and die.  Then I have the same 'my life flashes before me' part and I'm standing on an overpass crying and then I jolt awake. It freaks me out.
• Yeah, I don't know how much I rely on dream interpretation, but I am sometimes thankful for dreams. Like the ones I had last night after we went to go see Magic Mike. Wink I read somewhere that dreaming is one of the most vital functions our brain performs. It's a way of sorting through the day's events, clearing out the clutter to prepare for a new day.

Now, nightmares on the other hand, I never understand. I think some of my fears have come from nightmares I've had. As opposed to vice versa, having nightmares about fears that were already instilled in me. For instance, I don't think I've ever been afraid of large, angry bodies of water before I started having recurring dreams about it, starting around middle school.

This defiantly! Actually, it's you brains way of ridding stuff that you encounter all day long. Or at least I read it was.

And wasnt it brought up recently that the people you see in your dreams are people you see throughout the day, you just dont realize that your mind has registered them. Sesh? Was that you?

• OK.  I found some more details.  DD's friend is alleged to have been driving a car to provide cover for the shooter(s), who ambushed the man who was murdered.  Apparently the victim was beaten up at the club, returned with a friend to retrieve his wallet, and was ambushed and shot.  DD's friend isn't accused of pulling the trigger, but was apparently involved in the plot.  Nuts.

Brandi - Nates had that happen yesterday in the morning thread (except the crashing part).
I wouldnt read too much into it. Part of her day may have got mixed up. Hell, I dreamnt of zombies the other night. It was so well played out in my head, characters, plot lines, you name it. I told H if I could remember all of it I could write a book.

• Oh, I didn't realize Nates posted that yesterday.  I guess it just freaks me out because it's been happening for weeks now.

It rained today on my way to work and I was just really on edge the whole drive so it's on my mind.
