Re: Monday night

  • What do you mean by more vicious, Poke?

  • Okay - why is my avatar not changing?
  • Well, I think that some people won't hold back as much. I know people tend to censor themselves to an extent to avoid getting banned. I mean, I don't think it will be a MAJOR problem, but some people might take advantage of it.

But on the other hand, it's possible there wont' be a need to be mean because I doubt newbs/trolls will come in p!ssing people off. But, the potential is there.
  • That person who has the kit kat bar in her sig (the one eaten wrong, haha) just made me really crave one. Too bad I ate all the ones that came in my Easter basket...

  • I showed that pic to FI and we had a lengthy debate on if there really is a "right" way to eat certain food - such as a kit kat bar.

There is. And that's not it. Haha.

  • That kitkat bar pic drives me batty! So wrong! lol

I just finished painting my nails. I love Essie's Good To Go topcoat, but holy hell, it reeks!

  • I wish I could paint my nails. They're just so little though. I'm a biter.

Well, I'm engaged to be married and will probably have the wedding next November. My fiance is an engineer currently looking for a full-time job, I'm currently at home. We have a cat, but no kids. I will start posting now-as I said earlier i've been lurking for a while, and this seems like a neat board. We live in the Phoenix area in a house. I like to read and to cook.

  • Sara, is that a quick dry one? I can't find one I love because they all cause shrinkage. Seche Vite would be perfect, if not that for that. The smell doesn't bother me much.
    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • Poke, I'm a biter too. I'm trying to get better, hence the nail painting. I change polish about 2x a week, and it's been helping me not bite as much. I do tend to pick the polish off though, and it wrecks my nails.

Angel, yeah it's quick drying. Do you mean like it shrinks the color polish? I don't have that problem with this. This is the only quick dry topcoat I've ever used tho.

Well, welcome to the board. The chit chat threads in the morning and evenings, such as this one, are the best way to get to know people and to get a feel for the vibe of the board.

Thank you! Lots of favorites-what kind of books do you like? I'll read almost anything except Westerns or Horror. Thanks for being so welcoming.

  • Hi Eagles. I'm the same way, I HATE throwing up. I hope you feel better soon!
    image
  • Awww poor Eagles!!! I threw up the night of my shower - it was not fun. It tasted like punch. Is it because you're too hot?
  • I'm big on chick lit... but I also enjoy mystery and suspense. I love Harry Potter as well, those books are my favorites.

Eagles, I hope you feel better. I'm the same way... I try SO hard not to throw up for as long as I can because I hate it. I almost always end up feeling better after though, so I don't know why I never just get it out of the way.

ETA - So as not to have 3 posts in a row, Sara, yes, it shrinks the color polish away from my tips so I can see the white at the very tip of the nail. So annoying. I'll have to try the Essie one! I'm not a huge Essie fan, but it's more because they don't have enough variety of colors.

  • What are some of your favorite chick lit books Angel? I've never read Harry Potter, or seen the movies. I'm thinking of giving them a shot.

    <div>No problem : ) </div><div>
</div><div>My absolute favorite series is Harry Potter. I know, I know - I'm a nerd. But I generally love Historical Romance, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi. But I'm like you, I'll read almost anything.</div>

Something Borrowed and Something Blue, both by Emily Giffin, all of the Shopaholic books, anything by Kristin Hannah, but my favorite by her is Magic Hour. I'm sure there a ton more, but those are the ones coming to mine.
    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • I've heard that! My brother has some of the books upstairs, so as soon as the semester is over (3 weeks!!) I'm going to start reading them. Everyone I know who has read them has loved them.
    image
  • OMG Eags - you're a HP nerd too? Yay!

Anyways I really hope you feel better soon. That's so awful! I'm sending feel better vibes.
  • Haha Nora Roberts. I equate her with the likes of Danielle Steel. I actually used to love Danielle Steel though. I also loved Mary Higgins Clark, until all of her books started to become the same.

Speaking of "real stories" I read the Jaycee Dugard book. It's a tough one. I cried so much.
  • I love Something Borrowed and Something Blue, as well as the shopaholic series. I've read those tons of times.  Have you read any other stuff by Sophie Kinsella? I liked Remeber Me? and The Undomestic Goddess. Baby Proof by Emily Griffen is good too.

Gemma Halliday is another author I really like.

    *non barfing vibes* Eagles! goodnight

  • Get better Eagles! Don't throw up!!
  • Aww, good luck Eagles, Hope you feel better.

Sara, I've read everything by Emily Giffin and Sophie Kinsella... I've also read a few books under her real name, Madeleine Wickham, although it's a different style and I don't like those books as much.
    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • I've read one under that name, and I definitely didnt like it as much as the others. Seems like we have similar book tastes! :)

I'm an old lady, and I'm off to bed. Goodnight!
