Calling it "pulling a Kalpi" makes it sound like Kalpi's the only person to ever freak out. A lot of people have had their moments.

Pst....not what she meant. Ldy said she didnt' want to write so much and pull a Kalpi. And she (I didn't even see who it was) said her phone only wanted her to type 3 lines. Not to let her write so much. Pulling a Kalpi.

Oh, and I remember Megbo mentioned that she wasn't sure about homemade stuff for the food swap, so I didn't mail her my caramels. I sent her handcrafted (not by me) chocolates instead. I figured she'd like those better.

Erin - just made me sad that H isn't here with me and wish I wasn't being stubborn about not using vacation time (If I don't use it, I'll get paid out for it when I quit in a few months) so I'm not going home. I like H's family, but they're not MY family so I'm not really looking forward to spending Christmas with them without H.

Lia do you cross country ski or downhill? It's definitely something that has to be slowly mastered with practice. It's all about carefully directing your skiis and angling your body/core so you don't fall.

I missed Kalpi's freak out. I noticed she was missing. I really hope it is just because of travel. I really like Kalpi a lot. I noticed her wall of text. I just always thought she was trying too hard. Maybe it's a little annoying but she is really sweet.

H and I wanted to start a tradition of getting each other a special ornament. I ordered his in November and it showed up a couple weeks ago. It's hanging on our tree looking all beautiful and H has yet to give me an ornament. What a stupid thing to get hurt about, but I am. Sometimes we get hurt about stupid shiit.

I'd agree with this.

I like LDY too, but I was surprised to see a couple of people (Rachers and Eagles?) say that<em> </em>LDY couldn't possibly be "mean" earlier in this thread. The one and only time I've been moved to apologize to a newb on behalf of a reg was when LDY was picking on this one girl's e-pics. (I can't remember her name and I didn't save the PM's. I think it started with an S?) LDY eventually apologized for it, but not before she was called out for being needlessly cruel.

I always get hurt when FI doesn't get me a card. He can take me out, get me a gift but for some reason I need the card. He now knows this and does a good job. It makes me feel ungrateful but I really want a card.

Adamar -- I went to Total Wine for the first time a few weeks ago. H and I were in heaven. He found a beer he used to drink when he lived in the Caribbean. Oh, and we found their lovely tequila collection. Yum. It helps to go there with goals -- we knew we wanted to check out their Bordeaux section, then because that was so extensive, we figured we'd look at their tequila and beer sections. If I just thought about buying a bottle of wine without region/varietal, my head would explode there.

While Kalpi might have freaked out a bit, and it wasn't even that bad in the history of the board, I think we shouldn't throw about GBCK's so easily. I know no one has said that specifically (i dont think) but it's the holidays and people are busy. Just because someone is not here every day, doesn't mean there is any more meaning behind it than being busy IRL.

Im not trying to be captain save-a-ho. This is probably coming from my own insecurities of not being "around" enough lately. I lurk a lot, but don't always have anything profound to say so I don't post.
