Lets have a good day.

Re: Lets have a good day.

  • Good morning.  I'm late to this, but I way overslept.  I was up very late last night, both because of the storms and because FI is sick.  He kept sleeping through the weather alerts, so when the tornado warnings were being issued, I was worried he wouldn't wake up in time.  He scared the crap out of me.

My car has lots of hail dings.  There was a storm last week that produced hail, and this one didn't help.  The trunk looks like it has cellulite.

The garage flooded because we got six or seven inches of rain in less than 24 hours.  The end of the street also flooded, so we aren't really going anywhere.

There were three tornadoes confirmed about half an hour away.  Our friends and their one-month-old son spent most of the night in the basement.  She said it was the scariest thing she's ever been through because she was so worried about her son.  That broke my heart.

Oh, and there are trees down all over the place.
  • My hometown tests their sirens every week. It's sooo loud when they test them here.

I'm actually getting married on the 6th anniversary of a tornado that came through my town and others and killed 25 people, 3 of which I knew. The house my dad grew up in was one of the last that the tornado hit and it was destroyed. It happened at 3am, so I insist on keeping our weather radio on now, even if it goes off in the middle of the night for stupid stuff. Sometimes I have to gently remind FI why I'm so paranoid.
  • LDY, I left you a FB message about spinning last night. I've gone, and also bike, but I've got a bad knee, so I don't do a lot of standing in class. But the message isn't about standing - it's about sitting .:)

I've seen several tornadoes (watched one skim right over part of our neighborhood), hidden in the basement twice here already - once, J even went down with me, it was so bad - and a tornado ended up going through our little town. I've also had the pleasure of two huricanes, Hugo and Andrew. One inland, but still full-on hurricane strength, and one right in Miami. And now, here I can also add blizzards, and I think we've had 5 of those.

    Storms. How fun.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • Talk about blizzards.

Last year we went from nothing on the ground at all, literally grass to 4' overnight.

We've had some crazy snowstorms up here, but that one topped them all.  Our town was declared a state of emergency and everything shut down.
