B&M Monday

Let's hear it ladies!

I'll start...

DH went into our closet last night to get something down from the top rack, and the entire thing came tumbling down. Clothes, and all. He fixed it the best he could, missed the cowboy game (thank goodness for DVR), but he's got to work on it some more tonight. It was a mess. Just glad he didn't get hurt! I'm thankful to have such a handy husband...otherwise we would have been screwed, or had to rely on the apartments to come fix it. Obviously, they did such a good job constructing it in the first place. *eye roll*

Oh...and it's Monday and I didn't sleep well last night so I'm extra cranky today.

I'm actually happy today - first Monday that's happened in a WHILE!  I had yesterday off, so I feel revived.  My only B&M is that we've been roped into watching FMIL's dog for a month or so... because getting a dog when you're renting a house with a no-pets policy is the smartest idea ever.  She's adorable, but far from potty trained!  Meet Tricksy:

So my fh calls me on Saturday with the news he is not coming to TX after all (he drives a truck) he is going back to CA to deliver a load on 9/15!!! I have not seen him for more than 3 weeks!!!!

    This is killing me!!!

I've been in a great deal of pain all weekend, and I'm going to the Doctor at 11 am.   I'm afraid to find out what is wrong with me.

    Cowboys... WTH.

Friday was my mother's funeral.  That night, my ILs came over to the house.  It started off well enough but I slipped and accidentally called my MIL by her first name (I have not been invited to call her anything else).  I just kind of went on but never called her by her first name again that evening.  Before they left, she patted me on the hand and said "I'm not trying to be snotty, but Alan (the SIL) calls us Mr. and Mrs. Rankenstein and that's what we prefer."  I tried to tell her that I had just slipped but to no avail.  The more I thought about it, the angrier I got.  I had just buried my mother.  Surely, she could have waited until another time to speak to me about it or she could have remembered that I have never called her that before and that I was under just a little bit of stress.  Bill brought it up with her on Saturday while I was out with some friends.  Her excuse was that she wanted to take care of it before it became a bigger deal.

I get that my FIL hates cats but I have two of them and that doesn't mean that he gets to push them off of OUR couch just because he doesn't think they should be allowed on the couch.

Saturday was the worst.  We started calling them at six to see about dinner.  No answer every fifteen minutes.  We finally try his father's phone and Bill starts getting yelled at because he didn't call at six.  Saturday evening turned very nasty and I have never seen my husband that mad at his parents.  And they refused to understand why we didn't want to go to church the next morning.  Hello?  I'm tired, stressed, exhausted, sort of depressed and not really feeling the love right now.

I'm so annoyed with people who don't RSVP, and when we follow up tell us, "Oh, I won't know for 10 days or so"... awesome. You'll be sitting whereever there's an extra seat. You will have nothing to talk about with the people you're sitting with. And it won't be my fault, because you're too cool to RSVP on time...

    I slept horribly last night.

My husband is wanting to put another offer on the house we lost in July (because they refused to help with fixing the big ticket items due to their lack of maintaining) and he's wanting to completely low ball it.  This won't happen until October but it annoys the crap out of me- I'm so sick of the stupid game you have to play.  While I don't agree with what he wants to do, I'm going to go along because it means so much to him.

I made breakfast enchiladas for today and tomorrow and I'm 3 bites away from finishing both days worth.  I am so hungry.  Maybe 1.5 each day isn't enough?  Which is completely weird because usually 1 is plenty for me.

Even though it's 3 months away, I cannot decide on what to do for DH's birthday.  I go back and forth between a few things and the last decision was my original plans.

    Thanks Natalie.

I have this horrible stabbing pain around my lower right rib cage that goes all the way through to my back.   I've never felt so much pain as I did Friday night.   It is a little better now but still hurts when I breathe in deeply.

I did the "google" thing and that just terrifies me more since there are a good 4 organs right there.  Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing serious.

Your DH should request that they call you Mr. & Mrs. JulieBug, because "that's what you prefer." Hehehe...

Ok, maybe that's a bad idea. :) I'm sorry your ILs are such crazies...

Julie I am so sorry you are going through all that.  With all that has happened your in-laws should be more understanding.

My B&M is about the strictness of the ICU at the hospital my mom is in and the bedside manor of some of the staff.
We took her in on sun morning because she was severekly dehydrated and having bad muscle spasm and falling.  At first they dismissed the spasms and falling saying that was not their concern and they didnt have time to straighten that out and we would need to follow up with our primary care.  After they ran tests the doctor came back in and advised she was in renal failure and would need to be admitted.  She was doing much better when I left at 4pm then at 5pm I get a call that she crashed and is doing better but now in ICU.  ICU has only 30 min windows of time to visit every 2 hours during the day.  I was not going to be allowed in to see her after work so I took today off (I am only on day 4 at a new job) because I wasnt going to go an entire day without seeing her.  I went up at 8-8:30 and the dr was going to be in at 9 and they would not let me stay so I could hear what the plan/update for the day was.  Very frustrating when I just want to know what is going on.

    Thanks Lauren!

Julie - she is lucky you didn't call her Mrs. MIL-Zilla...or worse.  Just sayin.

I think I would call her by her first name forever now... just to agitate her.  They need to get off of their high horse anyway.

Julie-props to you for not smacking her in the face.  WTF-ingF!

Tiffany-don't try to diagnose via google!  You'll just stress yourself out more!

My B&M is for people that plan their weddings in the middle of football season when you know all of your friends are serious football fans.  You used to be, too.  If there's no TV at your reception we'll all be in the corner glued to our phones.

Julie, My thoughts and prayers go out to you for what you are dealing with.  I'm really sorry about your mother, and your IL's seem to be ridiculous, selfish, and condescending.

Tiffany - hope everything is okay.

I'm in the same boat with many of you.  I didn't sleep well at all last night!  That usually is never a problem for me, but I think I was so wired (or pissed off) after the Cowboy game, and it ended so late, that I just couldn't sleep. Oh well.

Seriously?  It's just a couple of hours...  I am big into football but I am good with the whole DVR and not listening to the radio to avoid the scores.  It's their ONE day.  Football season lasts for months - maybe they don't want to get married in the dead of winter or summer.

Julie, I am so sorry you had to deal with all that.

Tiffany, could it be pleurisy?  A coworker of mine had it last year right around my wedding.  She actually missed the reception because of it.

Ugh, the Cowboys.  That is all.

@Tiffany: if you're interested, i'd HIGHLY recommend seeing a good chiropractor for the pain. it sounds like something similar that happened to me a while back and my chiro, in Plano, was able to fix it very quickly. i know chiro can be scary if you've not gone before, but i trust this doctor with more than i have any other doctor in my life. i LOVELOVELOVE him.

Stephie - It might be.   My Mom (who is a google diagnoser) is hell bent that it is my gall bladder...but that isn't really probable I don't think.   It feels more like my lungs to me.. or maybe even a rib.   It's really weird.

I kind of have to agree with this. I had a friend get engaged last fall and her best friend was debating whether she even wanted to go to her engagement party because it was during an OU football game, and she's a sooner.

Come on...really? Your best friend only gets engaged and married once. (Hopefully) I would really like to think you're selfless enough to be able to miss one game to be there for your friend. It's one game, there are lots of other games, and your friend only gets one engagement party, wedding, etc. I just don't think there's any comparison.

    But, maybe that's just me.

Joanne--It's not just a couple of hours, because we all have to travel the small town where her wedding is, where we have to stay all weekend.  So yeah, I will probably DVR the game too, but I won't be able to watch it until Monday night.

Her friends are big in to football, all for the same team.  Like season-ticket holding big.  The game this weekend happens to be one of our big rivalry games.  There are lots of other weekends during football season that would have been better, like when we play during the day, or when we play a less important team.  Like the date that she had her wedding originally scheduled for, but then moved it up 3 months because "we just can't wait."

This is just the last in a series of what I considered to be pretty selfish decisions on her part regarding the wedding.  So I guess on it's own it's not a huge deal, but in the context of everything else, it's irritating.

Tiffany, I kind of sounds like a kidney stone (with it radiating to the back) but I'm sure they'll figure it out at the doctor's office. Don't stress! Laughing

    Tiffany,
My pancreatitis was right under my lung but on the left side.  Appendix?  Keeping my fingers crossed.

My ILs just have no tack and no give when it comes to what they want.  They are really pretty selfish.  I thought for sure Bill was lying when he said that his mother isn't going to take it well that we won't be there for Christmas but now I can see that it is going to be pretty awful.  I really don't care though.  I need to be with my dad and my brother this Christmas.  They'll just have to suck it up.

Tiffany - so sorry for the weekend pain, that's always the worst since there are not doctor's offices open and then you have to wait until Monday when they are crazy busy.

Julie - I'm sorry you have to go through all of the IL stuff especially after losing your mom.  WTH!  I agree with pp, props to you for not giving her one.

My B&M:  for some reason my older dog Daisy (5 years) has decided she will no longer go to the bathroom in the grass.  She's decided she's going to use the porch in the corner near the house.  Now I have to hose it down.  WTH... I'm thinking about just getting that fake grass thing.  My grass is mowed and I'm not sure what she's scared of out there.
