Is it too early for wine?

Re: Is it too early for wine?

  • Evening ladies!

Fi and I had plans to go to a movie with some of his friends while I'm in town, but the plans have changed and apparently now we're going out drinking. Meh, I'm not in too much of a drinking mood, only because my stomach is acting up... ( I have chronic stomach issues, it sucks pretty hard.) Blahh.
  • I did read that, but  it was slower than most for me to get into?
  • Hey Mixtape - it drives me nuts when plans change lst minute.  Makes me cranky :).
  • Hey mixtape! Have fun going out with your FI.

Well, H is off to work again. He scarfed down his pizza and out the door. He is probably going to have a upset tummy later. He has acid reflux and I know the sauce is always hard for him.
  • I didn't want to do anything today and thats exactly what I'm doing. I could have gone to the pool with a friend of mine to watch her kids swim but I didn't get the test until hours after and I'm kinda glad I didn't.

  • Hi Ciara! How are you feeling? I haven't done much today either, but I needed it.

I guess I will be hanging out here most of the night since H will probably be gone for a while.
  • I am going to clean up my kitchen here shortly and go to bed.  I work again in the morning 7 AM.  *double time happy dance*.  5 more shifts til a long weekend!!!
  • I'm feeling fine just wish my back would stop hurting.

  • Welp FI wants the computer. I might be back later. See ya!
  • Loopy, I admire you. I would be so crabby and irriatable running on that little of sleep. I am a girl who has to have my sleep. I can go for a few work nights staying up late and then it catches up with me.
  • I guess Butler just won the basketball game. I wonder if UK is going to hold on tonight. Predictions?
  • Long weekends are always a good thing Loopy.

I have been on bed rest for almost a month now and I really actually miss working. I don't go back to work until the 28th of May at the earliest.

  • Hi ladies! Just got home. There is a local drive-in burger joint that is closing tomorrow. It opened in the 50s and was the primary date night spot for my grandparents back then. It became an icon and people still brought their hot rods to eat on the weekends since then, and I grew up going there every weekend with my family. The closing prompted a HUGE amount of people coming to get a 'last meal'. I waited in 2 hours for a shake, burger & fries. But it was so worth it. It was great seeing the community coming together and enjoying seeing the hot rods come in while we waited. Traffic was super backed up too just to see what the commotion was about.

  • musical - that sounds very yummy and fun. It always makes me sad to see places that have been around forever shutting their doors. Unfortunately, it seems like it is a sign of the times these days.
  • Ciara  - isn't back pain a sign of labor?

Sometimes I get cranky... but I figure I'm young and the overtime isn't going to be available forever so I better take it while I can get it.
  • It can be. But normally not upper back pain. I did have a strong contraction this morning but it's the only one that I have noticed.

  • MS - that sounds like fun.  there's a drive in ice cream place in my hometown that has been around forever.  It will be so sad if they ever close.  They are only open late March through maybe September but I love to go get ice cream when I'm in town and they're open.
  • Loopy - I would definitely take advantage of it, too if I were you. It just sucks that I am officially unemployed. But hopefully soon enough I will be making good money again and not working for a b!tch for a director.
  • Aww musical, that's a really cool but bittersweet night! I feel like we don't have any old burger joints in Canadaland. Well, at least where I live. I always watch "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on the food network and envy Americans, haha :)
  • Missy-- Yeah, it sucks because it would have been really fun to take my kids there some day. I guess the owners made the decision to sell it because they knew the installation of the light rail on that street will affect their parking, etc. I was just impressed at how fast they were churning out those burgers & fries. Can't get a better batch of fries around here.

  • My cousin went to the hospital in labor and they told her it was Braxton Hicks and sent her home with an Ambien.  She took the Ambien and slept through early labor.  Her H took her in when her water broke in the bed and they had to keep waking her up during labor too.  They had to use foreceps to get her son out and her first words were "is his head going to stay pointy like that?"  It's a HILARIOUS labor story when she tells it.
  • Yeah, it was cute, they were selling old original menus as souvenirs, and you could get a burger for .33! and The most expensive thing on the menu was an 18 PIECE bucket of chicken for $4.25. Those were the days!

  • I have heard stories about parents freaking out over how their baby comes out.
  • My favorite place around here is D!ck's Drive In. They have really cheap greasy burgers but they taste wonderful! Every year my family went to a convention in Yakima and there was an old fashioned Drive-In that we would go to late at night and just gorge ourselves with food. We haven't done it in a while and I really miss it. May have to go there the next time we drive to eastern Washington to see family.

  • Missy - they're  already cutting back on how many people in each department are scheduled each weekend.  Instead of anyone who wants to work it's only one or two people to run key machines - so I can see the end of the overtime coming.  I am hoping for another month or two of the sunday's.  I get double my hourly rate for working Sunday's.

  • The restaurant I worked at during wedding planning time had their 25th anniversary of their grand opening and had a special menu of stuff from the original menu at original prices.  It was kind of a fun week to work with "throwback" specials every night.
  • We only have two drive in movie places left around here. I don't know if there are any other drive-in food places though. Drive in movies are super fun though.

  • The only true drive in burger joint's we have here are the Sonic's. I have seen them in central Ohio, but they are all over the place down here in GA.
  • There was a girl on the April 11 board that gave birth in the front seat of her jeep at the hospital entrance because the hospital did the same thing to her.
