We're going to Riviera Maya in September and I'm wondering how we should handle our money. Should we bring our debit/credit cards (we don't actually have credit cards, they are the banks cards). Or leave those at home? Or in the safe in the hotel? Should we use traveler's checks? Cash? Get a pre paid credit card? I'm not sure which option(s) are best.

June 2012 Bride!
If a customer wants to purchase an excursion (for example) that costs $139 US dollars per person, he/she will only be able to pay $100 USD of this amount in USD CASH and the remainder will need to be in another form of payment (credit card, Mexican Pesos cash, etc).

Staying at the AI we didn't need anything more than that other than using a credit card to book the excursion we went on.
I just exchanged for pesos at my bank the week before we left.
