Hi ladies, I'm bored and have a few questions

And before you write off this poll with the whole "I can't draw a stick figure" act, remember that I consider almost every aspect of life art, including cooking, decorating, gardening, knitting, photoshop, yoga, etc. So if you don't do conventional art, answer the questions regarding whatever you do in your life that is creative.
1. Are you artistic?
2. Is your FI/H/S.O. artistic?
3. What kinds of art do you do?
4. What kind of art does FI/H do?
5. What kind of art have you always wanted to try?
6. Favorite Artists?
7. What inspires you artistically? What stifles you?
8. Bonus: PIP and AW your creations.
Re: Artist Poll
ETA-the only art I ahve on this computer is a work-in-progress picture of a sidewalk painting from a few years ago. It's an annual festival I've done for the past 10 years:
6. Favorite Artists? I can't think of any off hand, but I am a fan of art in general. Its a great thing.
7. What inspires you artistically? What stifles you? hunger/lack of groceries and.or clean dishes
8. Bonus: PIP and AW your creations.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Drawing and Painting. I paint with acrylics and I guess I do realistic drawings/paintings.
4. I guess it would be Graphic Design
5. Surrealist as far as type. As far as medium, oil and/or watercolor.
6. Munch is probably the only one whose name I can remember right now.
7. A lot of things inspire me. I guess what inspires me most is seeing other artists' work I like (I'm thinking more like local, unknown artists, rather than famous ones)
What stifles me is lack of time, I guess.
I've got a few, but they are works in progress.
I like to think so.
In a different way than I am. He's a fantastic writer.
I paint and collage.
He writes game reviews for an online magazine, but he also just writes whatever strikes his fancy.
Lithography. It's ridiculously involved and requires tons of equipment, but I think it would be really neat.
El Greco. I like his skies so much.
Current events, sometimes. I did a collage out of newspaper clipping when they were doing on of the stimulus packages. It says in giant newspaper letters "STIMULATE MY PACKAGE" and then has a ton of pictures and headlines and what not around that.
Or looking at other art, and finding some tiny aspect of it that I like, and expanding that one aspect. I've never felt stifled, artistically, anyway.

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
2. Is your FI/H/S.O. artistic? Not at all.
3. What kinds of art do you do? Uuhm. Music (flute for 8 years, can also play clarinet, saxophone, and a bit of piano), painting usually with whatever I can find, I make attempts at photography, I can sew fairly well, and I like to scrapbook/make cards.
4. What kind of art does FI/H do?
5. What kind of art have you always wanted to try? Digital. I really want to learn how to use the 3D rendering programs and Photoshop in their entirety, but it's so expensive.
6. Favorite Artists?
7. What inspires you artistically? What stifles you? Pretty things. I like to paint landscapes and fantasy-ish stuff. Lack of time.
8. Bonus: PIP and AW your creations. I don't have any great pictures of anything...I really want to sit down and do another painting but it feels like I never have any time. I'll see what I can find when I get home.
2. Is your FI/H/S.O. artistic? He won't admit to it but yes. He made some awesome jewelry in HS.
3. What kinds of art do you do? Charcoal, oil paints, I dabble with graphic design also. Love pottery!
4. What kind of art does FI/H do? Mostly jewelry, woodwork and pottery.
5. What kind of art have you always wanted to try? I've done a lot of different things already...photography would definitely be one though.
6. Favorite Artists? Musically, a ton. Paintings: Monet
7. What inspires you artistically? What stifles you? Anything can be inspiring. Lack of time stifles me
8. Bonus: PIP and AW your creations. I wish I had pictures! Maybe sometime I'll shoot some.
Chalk pastel on canvas. I forgot that I didn't have fixative, and I used almost an entire can of hairspray on it.
Acrylic on canvas.
Another acrylic on canvas.

Beautiful works LC.
2. Is your FI/H/S.O. artistic? Yes.
3. What kinds of art do you do? A little bit of everything that is two-dimensional; drawing, painting, calligraphy, stamping, collage, screen printing. I never really liked sculpture or 3-D stuff. I love henna, make-up, and decorating my house too.
4. What kind of art does FI/H do? He is a chef, but he also carves stone and wood and got me into collage. Oh and he loves photography.
5. What kind of art have you always wanted to try? Airbrushing. And make-up airbrushing while we're at it.
6. Favorite Artists? Frida Kahlo, Chuck Close, M.C. Escher, Sandy Skoglund. Ooo ooo! And Andy Goldsworthy! Have you seen this guy? (clicky)
7. What inspires you artistically? Other artists flourishing around me. Learning new things. Odd views of things I've seen over and over. Interesting graffiti around the city. Good books and poetry. What stifles you? That whole "in a rut" feeling. But I liken my creativity to a boiling pot, so I know I always just have to wait and it will boil over eventually.
8. Bonus: PIP and AW your creations. This was me last halloween as a zebra. (before and after hair coloring)Halloween is my favorite holiday and I always try to pick the weirdest thing I can come up with.

I'm creative but don't consider myself artistic
3. What kinds of art do you do?
4. What kind of art does FI/H do?
5. What kind of art have you always wanted to try?
6. Favorite Artists?
7. What inspires you artistically? What stifles you?
I get really stifled by "realistic portrayals" and my want to make things be perfect. I can't sketch for fun anymore because it isn't professional quality, and somewhere I got it into my head that if it's not professional it's a waste of time. I know it's not, but it's taking time to really let it sink in and start again.
You asked for it!

Katie, those are awesome
2. Is your FI/H/S.O. artistic? Depends. Would you consider being able to fix a vehicle artistic? I kinda sorta do. I've watched him work, and there's sort of an artistry to it. Now, I don't think he could do a paint by numbers, but I know as a kid he used to make those sequins-with-pins ornaments.
6. Favorite Artists? Monet, Van Gogh, Botticelli
No space to work.
I thought I might find a painting in a background. I meant to scan some, but never did. Here's two things. One's an overloaded winter/Christmas wreath (pic is sideways), and one (over the back of the chair) is an afghan I crocheted.
Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

Wow Led, I LOVE the first one, even if it isn't done.
kp, you do metal works? I would love to learn how to do that!
[QUOTE]I'm lovin' reading this thread! Seshat- when you say 'sidewalk painting', do you mean like a sidewalk chalk in liquid form? do you paint it on the sidewalk or stencil it? I am swooning already, I love sidewalk chalk.

It's a yearly Streetpainting Festival that celebrates the Madonarri. It's held at the same time as a local festival around our town hall lake and is a fundraiser for ArtHaus, a local art organization I used to volunteer for.
A bunch of artists get together for the weekend and draw on the sidewalk for fun. We use pastels, not sidewalk chalk but some special kind of pastels made for sidewalk art (they don't work on paper, I've tried). They can be mized with water once on the ground for a smoother look and to blend it in with the concrete.
Some people use stencils, other just free-hand it. I love going. At this point it's not even about the art, it's about hanging out with people I only see once a year at the SPF (streetpainging festival). The next one is this October.
[QUOTE]umm kp, that robot is badass, did you make it? Do you weld or is it glued?? I need more info on this!

I didn't make it, but I want to make something like that - I figure I've been finding antique pieces of metal, and copper, and I have a blow torch :) Anything is possible!
