• ffs, no one gives a crap about where people live.  Haven't we already covered this?

People who use this board as their personal LJ get my flame, and that's namely Amoro.  I get that you don't have a lot of friends there, and I don't have many here.  But I try to not post incessantly about stuff that's going on in my life.
Moose and Dani, I understand what you're saying.  And I did make sure to tell him that it was a Friday when we asked, and it has been mentioned multiple other times to him so there's absolutely no reason he should have suddenly been surprised.  But I don't know, it just always bothered me when people use sex as an excuse to poor behavior.  I know guys think differently and all, but I still expect them to use basic principles or manners or whatever.  I might be asking too much, who knows.  I still can't get Noodle to understand the purpose of the laundry hamper or the dishwasher.

That's the other thing about men.  They really do tune us out.  It annoys the ever loving shiit out of me, but they do it.  H is aware he does it, and he tries not to, but sometimes he does.  Then again, sometimes I do it to him too.

no, no, it's ok.  you stay there.  I may be coming to Montreal in the next year so I'll just have the real thing there.

Also, I need an excuse to come back to Ontario (it really was awesome there) and poutine should work, right?

  • I kind of get what Alix is saying about poutine. It's like someone on the west coast will say, "Such-and-such place has AMAZING wings!" And I'm all, "No, you haven't had amazing wings unless you've had them in Buffalo. Period. You can't good get wings east of Rochester or south of Jamestown. Period."

    And poutine.

And we're going out to a mexican place tonight so I can have margaritas.  Anyone have any suggestions for mexican food that I want to eat, please?

  • I cannot argue with them tuning us out in the slightest.  I've had entire conversations with Noodle, and asked him a question, only to have him stare blankly at me and go "I wasn't listening to anything you just said."

The only (mild) flame I can really think of at the moment is for JessandTrav's 85034850934 sig pic changes. I usually recognize posters by their sig and I am always thrown off when Jess posts because of the seemingly constant sig pic changes.

  • I just googled. Poutine is french fries with brown gravy and cheese?
I don't think that sounds good, and yet I feel like I should try it.

  • There's something at a diner here in Madison called the scramble - it's like poutine, only with eggs and sausage, too.  Best hangover food ever.
  • I've had fresh curd from Wisconsin, and I love it. I just can't imagine it with gravy and fries. I'm only a couple hours away from Canada. I wonder if I can convince FI we need to take a road trip. haha
OI gave some information about HPV and PAP smears that was needed by two people posting in that thread.  Gardisil protects again 4 types of HPV, yes, but those are the 4 that are linked to cervical cancer.  There is alot of dangerous misinformation out there about womens health particulary.  I'm absolutely not in the habit of posting things just to sound like a smart-a$$.  I feel a responsibility as a physician and a clinical instructor to ensure that people have the right facts. That's it.  Flame away.
    Posted by deepcovejackie
Don't mind if I do! Because you aren't giving people the right facts. Two of the strains (6,11) are most common in causing genital warts. Two of the strains (16, 18) are most common in causing cervical cancer. There are DOZENS of strains of HPV that cause cervical cancer and warts, but are implicated in far fewer cases.

Way to say there's too much misinformation out there and contribute to it at the same time.

This. I can totally understand that people get heated over certain topics and say things they regret (unpopular opinions, for example).  But her crusade against P2 was mean spirited and intentionally hurtful. There is no excusing that.

  • I'll be honest, I don't take medical advice from a wedding website.  I don't even take it from medical websites.  I kind of prefer talking to my own doctor.  So.  Yeah.

  • Poutine is proof that baby jesus loves us.

I make a kick ass poutine moose!  There's a cheese place that makes and sells curd.  I have st. hubert packs stockpiled from when I went to quebec last.  Although I think my cousin said she found some somewhere in sherwood park.  I might be making that up.  Just make sure your fries are  homemade.

You'll have to come over for poutine next time you're in the area :)

And also, yes, I love my healthcare.  Did I enjoy waiting 1 hour in the doctor's office when I made an appointment the other day?  No.  But, I enjoyed not having a bill at the end of the visit.  And I got to take the afternoon off work because everyone knows you'll be at the doctor's office for minimum 1 hour.  Plus commute time, it's just not worth going back to work.

And I'm off to catch up on page 15 and 16.
