Good morning?

I wonder if TK is going to work today.

My car made the drive yesterday but the last hour we had lot of rain and no windshield wipers. It was quite dangerous and I feel like an asshole for driving with them less than functional. That's a must fix before we go back.

My bachlorette party is this weekend and I am trying to get excited but it's just not happening.  I am finding that I hate everyone this week.

Happy Friday everyone. What's up with you?

Re: Good morning?

  • Morning!  I really hate TK.  I have some things to wrap up before we start moving to the new lab on Monday.  Also, I FINALLY have the appointment with the GI specialist.  Hopefully now we can get to the bottom of my stomach issues and I can be a semi-normal functioning human being soon.

Acaponi, do you know what they have planned for you for your b party?  I know what you mean about not being super excited but that's because I personally don't really want one.
  • Have a good party! You'll have fun, even if you do hate everyone.

Not much happening for me. Tomorrow is my usual cleaning/reading/writing/napping day. Sunday I have to work because I'm taking Monday off, and I'd rather just work the weekend than take PTO.

Also, I get to go on vacation this month! I can't wait. 15 more days. I think I can make it.
  • Sesh, I don't know if you mentioned the vacation before and I missed it ... but... where are you going?  I wish I could fast forward to our HM.  I don't think I've taken more than a day here and there every few months for the past 2 years!  I need a break!
  • Good Morning! Today is the first day of my promotion and everyone is calling me by my new rank, and it's really weirding me out.

We're having a BBQ today at lunch that I'm pretty excited about. Then after work I need to pick up my friend's baby shower gift, and we're going to a concert tonight. Tomorrow is the baby shower, and then tomorrow night I'm getting my tattoo done, yay!!

AC, Bach parties are fun! Hope you have fun : lbarr my sisters all have stomach issues. Two of them found out they were lactose intolerant and the other one I think has a gluten issue, but it took the docs dumbass small town doc forever to figure it out. They tweaked their diets a bit and are fine now, but it was definitely frustrating for them for a while. Hope you get your answers soon! I'm just glad it's Friday. I am so tired this week, wtf. Last night I took Lucy to the dog park and this old guy was there with his schnauzer who was being all aggressive, humping all the dogs and growling and barking, and he kept playing it off like he was just trying to play. All the other dog owners were getting pissed so I was like "maybe you shouldn't bring your aggressive dog to the park, he is obviously not getting along with anyone" and he told me Lucy was FAT. Like "is your dog fixed?" and I told him yes of course, and he said "I'd never do that to my dog, I don't want him blowing up like that." IS THIS REAL LIFE?? Yeah. Then we left. Cool story bro

    Haha AATB what an ass!

I had an interesting evening involving dogs.  When I came home from my run I heard our neighbors dog crying/screaming out every few minutes.  And of course, being the nosey animal lover I am I sort of tried to see what was going on to see if I had to go murder someone for hurting a gorgeous doggie.  All of a sudden the dog runs AT me sreaming and tail between its legs and all shaking and just wants me to pet it and whatever.  So I did so and one of the young guys that own it came over and I was like.... "So uh, is your dog OK?  I've been hearing a lot of crying and weird noises from your yard."  Turns out the dog was "getting used" to the electric fence.  Then I went on to say that clearly it wasn't working since the dog still managed to get out.  Maybe not the nicest thing to say and I didn't even really mean it badly but he probably thinks I'm some bitchazoid that is going to call animal control on them now.

ETA:  Edited because clearly when I'm wound up about something I don't know how to type.

    ... and another cool story!!
  • Omg lbarr. I would have LOST my SHlT. K shower time, be back later

  • Morning ladies!

I feel like I've missed so much this week. Work has been busy and at night our lives are taken over by a pup.

It's raining here as well, supposed to rain most the weekend. I hope not, I want to finish planting my stand and I have a hollowed out log I want to plant. The city cleaned out our spill way yesterday, I hope the water still pools, I love my ducks and frogs being out there. But, it looks really nice.

AATB- I think I would let Lucy bite his junk. Men and their phobia about fixing dogs, get over yourself already. Ugh!

Well my say in the matter was that I just wanted to go up to my family's cottage (which is sweet--on a small island, no cars, only store is a bar lol) and have it be with mostly my cousins and cool aunts and then a few of my girlfriends. The plan was have it be a day party outside, swimming, drinking playing fun non-penis related games but it turns out that the weather is going to be shiiit now. Oh well. It will still be fun, there was just a bunch of drama going down because of it (one of my cousins wanted to bring her 4 month old baby...wtf!).

Crazy dog stories! AATB I would have thrown dog shiiit at that guy.

What a douche, aatb. And I hate the electric fence, I get sad when they are scared. Although, I think one dog I knew liked being zapped. It was like he ran through it on purpose.

lbarr, I'm going to NC. My uncle is getting married here in FL, then we are all going up to their cabin (well, they are staying at his FI's cabin, the rest of us at another one) for a week. I'm apparently bunking with my cousin (H can't go) who just can't wait to meet me.

It's going to be a week of awesomeness. Monday at some park, Tuesday my great-uncle (the elder) will perform the blanket ceremony for my uncle and his new wife, Wednesday is white-water rafting, Thursday I forget (something in Asheville, maybe?), and Friday at some place called Grandfather Moutain, I think.
  • WTF lbarr. Aren't they supposed to have flags and stuff so the dog has a visual reference for the parameters first? I have a few friends/family with electric fences and they've all worked just fine. No traumatizing the puppies first.

I have a dog story too- last night the pups were outside running arond the yard. They one neighbor dog always runs up and down the fence with Levi, and it's adorable.  Well he comes running out of the house and sees them in our yard. So he decides to join them... except he ran face-first into the fence. The fence that has been there all along that he is well aware of.  He whined, but was obviously super embarassed. He was fine, but I was trying so hard not to laugh hysterically.

Anywho. Good morning! I took the day off, because our a/c is being installed. woohoo! The guys should be here any minute, so I should probably go get dressed. I'm sitting on the couch in yoga pants and a hoodie, because it's 45* outside, and about 60* in my house.  Mother Nature is doing a really good job backing up my need for a new air conditioner. ;)
  • Mehgan I know you've probably told us, but what's the tat gonna be?

  • Acaponi, I feel you. This week I've been really irritated with everyone/everything. It's been such a long week between grandpa stuff, FSIL, school stuff.  I'm so glad it's the weekend.  Try and enjoy your night though! Just let it all go :)

I'm feeling very meh this morning.  Slightly hungover.  FI and I watched the last recall debate last night and made a drinking game out of it.  Every time Barrett avoided a question and turne dhis answer around to bash Walker, we had to drink.  We got drunk.

I'm so excited it's June though.  Getting married 3 weeks from tomorrow! Honeymoon one month from today. Eeek :)
  • Good morning!

AATB: The gluten issue sucks big gigantic monkey balls.  It took my doctors about 10 years to figure it out.  Blah.

AC: Have fun at your bach party!!  I'm sure once you get going, you'll have a blast.  Maybe just have a shot or two before you go :)

  • Yeah I kind of wanted to say something because I'm not a fan of anything that involves shocking an animal but to each his own.
  • And yes Steph, I always thought that they had something for visuals for the dogs but in this case I don't know.  The yard is all fenced just not on the sides which... I don't really understand the point of the fence then.  It just makes me sad that the dog was clearly hurting.  These were like HUGE cries/yelps not just like a little whine.  Can they turn down the zap?  I'm not sure if they can do that or not.  But still, the dog broke through it so I doubt turning it down will accomplish anything.
  • Going for allergy testing this morning so I had to be off meds for the last 3 days.  Miserable.

LBarr - I have IBS and I've gone the gastro route.  It was actually my PCP who finally dx'ed me.  Good luck; I hope you find answers.

No dog story; wish I had one tho.  We got Bo's ashes back and the Rainbow Bridge story along with them which always makes me cry.  Other cat is acting out of sorts. I *think* she misses Bo even tho they didn't seem to like each other. I keep hoping with time H will come around to another pet.  I would really love a dog.  I always had dogs until I divorced xH.  H is a dog lover but he feels we don't have the schedule for one.  Personally I think we have a good schedule for one - we don't work the typical 9 - 5.  Ah well, in his own good time.

Acaponi - have fun at bach party.  Enjoy time with friends and family.
  • Hey guys! I registered for my classes yesterday, so I'm pretty happy. I ended up having to take a night curse for chemistry in order to take it, but since I can still work 20 hours a week, I decided to do it. I actually got all the classes on my degree plan for first semester, so yay! Its going to be hard, but that's what I wanted, so should be fun too.

Its been pouring all morning, loves it.
  • That's awesome you got the classes you wanted, any. And you just reminded me, I really need to start prepping for my class.

Marrin, it's weird but even when they fight, I think it still affects pets when one is gone. My cats Jazmine and Falki hated each other and would fight if one got to close to the other. But when Jazmine died, Falki was curled up against her and growled/attacked when my stepdad tried to move her away, and slept where we buried her for like a week. Animals are pretty amazing like that.
  • good morning and happy Friday!
I agree this has been the longest 4 day week ever. I'm looking forward to a lazy weekend. I might attempt to find some garage sales this weekend and browse for some baby stuff.

Today should be a pretty easy day at work. We're having a luncheon for a guy in our department who is having twins next week. Then this afternoon they are flying in a Blackhawk and going to have a ceremony to honor all of the veterans that work here.

  • Morning.

AATB- that guy is an asshole.

LBarr- Your neighbors are also assholes.

We have four big closings at the office today so I'm ready for the shiiiit to hit the fan in the middle of it like usual.  Should be an interesting afternoon.

Haha thanks! I have another one of me sitting that I think is kinda BA too:

    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/14/2/5e0e4e9f-beb1-485f-9278-2a8504608a39.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"><img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/14/2/5e0e4e9f-beb1-485f-9278-2a8504608a39.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>

And I've mentioned my new tattoo a couple times, but I'll tell ya again: it's going to be on my right bicep. A pink frosted cupcake with a teal wrapper above two crossed switchblades (sort of a take on the skull & crossbones) with "Cupcakes Taste Like Violence" in cursive below it, and stars/confetti sprinkled all around it. Very girly, but also kinda tough.

  • Thanks Marrin!  I wish my PCP had handled it but they told me it was reflux when I've never really had any heartburn so that was interesting....

About the dog thing, I feel bad because they seem like genuinely nice people but they just don't seem like they have had much dog experience.

That dog ALWAYS escapes.  In fact, that was the animal that we thought was trying to "attack" FI a few months ago at 5am in the dark.  We nearly shite ourselves when we saw that husky coming at us.  FI swore it was a wolf at the time, lol.

[QUOTE]Good lord, AATB, whatta douche.   We actually have several neighbors that have an underground fence that works just fine.  It weirds me out, though, when walking our dogs.  I'm always worried they're going to bust out and start chasing us. You could try getting some books.  Or some toys/activities that are good for sensory learning.  You could even possibly look into nontoxic markers or crayons and some coloring books.  I don't know if that applies to each two year old, but my God daughter loves to color and she is two.

  • Good morning! I am excited to go out for lunch today for tasty 5$ burgers and fries! Kinda of want one now.

Mehg- I am excited to see what the finished tat looks like! Sounds very cool.

Also, I will echo the sentiments that for a 4 day week, it felt about twice as long as a normal week. UGH
  • Yeah, we have Once Upon a Child or something like that here. This is going to sound terrible, but I freaking hate walking into that place. It's full of screaming wild ass children. Michael and I went in there a few weeks ago and we left after I wanted to spank the parents of some wild child...twice. We were looking at the aisle of bigger stuff and this little bastard jumped out from behind a stroller and scared the shiiit out of me. Then I was checking out some of the clothes stuff and I felt something on my foot...it was a little girl probably about 4 years old, laying on the floor chewing on my shoestring. Her mom wasn't even phased by it, didn't seem to care that her child was chewing on a filthy shoestring, or that my shoestring was now covered in slobber.

So another cool story, but not about dogs. I just got a friend request from a dude I haven't seen since HS. Of course I had to be nosy and check him out. His ish is all public, so I started reading through it. His about me talks about how he's fighting for freedom, which I initially took to mean that he was in the military...WRONG he's in prison...for agg burglary and agg murder! It also says that he's aryan, and would like to see people learn to stick to their own race. OH he also lists his inmate number and address to the prison because he likes pen pals and for girls to send him pics of their titties. Sheeewweee I know some classy people.
