AlixNoMiddleNameZafiris

So, I read a few more chapters last night.  (my weekend was busier than I anticipated and my PVR was at 98% full so I had to clear it out.. BOO)  I just finished the part where Drunky Haymitch told her she will probably have to "be in love with peeta" for the rest of her life.

So, I'm not far into it.  I am still team Peeta.

However, I think I am falling for Eric.  Bill doesn't suck yet... I've only watched 2 episodes... or maybe 3 of season 3.  But, he's oddly appealing to me now.  It's weird.  But, just to clarify, I don't hate Beel yet.  So, don't do a banana dance or anything.

Re: AlixNoMiddleNameZafiris

  • I decided I liked Eric when they made him stop wearing the wig. I'm completely superficial. Also, I like him waaaaaaay better after reading the books. Pretty much all of Season 3 at some point during the episode, I would look at FI and go "Eric and Sookie are gonna do it this week. Totally."

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ERIC!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PEETA!

    That is all.

I loved CF. It's at least on par with Hunger Games and the end had me going "WOW. WHAT THE BALLS?! WOW."

And Eric is just.... *sighs* He's my favourite.

  • EEERRRIIICCC!!!

I don't have Catching Fire yet, so no spoilers, kay?
  • I think that was me too LC.  I hated him with the long hair.

I still love when he asks Lafayette if there's blood in his hair and he goes, "Pam is going to kill me..."

  • I had CSI on in the background one day last week and Pam was totally on it. I love her. She's amazing in season three.
    image
  • Yup, that part was awesome. Pam cracks me up. I can't remember what episode of season 3 it was, but she goes "I don't know what it is. Maybe I wear too much pink, but people think they can tell me their problems and I'll care."

  • Oh yes, I saw that.  So it's one of the first 3 episodes.  So hysterical.

And yes, Tara is starting to get too melodramatic.  I want the sassy biitchy Tara back.

  • I haven't read any TB books.  Maybe eventually.  But, I'd rather just read Catching Fire instead.

ANd Georgia - GET ON IT!  Start reading - NOW.

No I don't think you do. Ive read the books and watched the show. The show doesn't really follow the books too well. Course I am only on Season 2.

  • Then what are you talking about? Is Catching Fire like TB? I know I'm being nosey, but I love TB show

  • I wanted to stab Tara all through season two and then again in season three. She irritates me.

And yes LVB, True Blood. You should read the books, I love them (easy, fun reads) but you don't have to. They're different to the show.

I watched the show, then read the books. In fact, I didn't start reading the books until after the third season was over. But I wouldn't say it would mess you up to watch the show while you're reading the books. After the first season, the show deviates pretty significantly from the books. You might get some spoilers for the second and third seasons in the second and third books though. Spoilers don't bother me in the slightest. I like them, in fact.

  • you really don't have a middle name Alix?

  • Oh Mands, I dropped off something for ya with Canada Post this morning that has to do with this thread :) You should have it this week hopefully.

  • Mandy, I'm waiting on the library to get it for me. We have the suckiest library around, so all my books come from elsewhere and I have to wait for them to be delivered to my sucky branch.

I need a new Sookie book to come out so she can get and keep a man.

  • Yeah I am not big on her name.

Sorry LVB - Hunger Games is totally seperate from TB.  Alix and I are just talking about both cause I thought it'd be easier in one thread.  Totally awesome book series - nothing to do with vampires.

  • I like her Harper Connelly ones too, but I'm all caught up with those also.

Alix, I've also got City of Bones on hold at the library.

I've even gotten my H to read Hunger Games; he just got to the part where K sees R in the tree. It's hard to keep him enthralled with books, so I'm pleasantly surprised.
  • Alix!  Today is your birthday and you sendin' me gifts!?  That's gay.

  • Alix, question: if the Mortal Instruments series is a trilogy, why are there six books?

  • Oh mah god jaw-jah. City of Bones is brilliant. Not as brilliant as City of Ashes or the amazingness of City of Glass but you'll get to those. I want to bone Jace so hard.

It's not really a gift Mands. Just a note and maaaaaaaaaaaaybe some burned DVDs. I'm tired of you waiting every week for an update so I'm helping out!

Mortal Instruments is a trilogy centered on Clary and Jace. The next three (starting with City of Fallen Angels) follow a lesser character from the MI trilogy, Simon - out in Spring 2011.

Then there's the companion trilogy (starting with Clockwork Angel which was released early September) which are about a character who appears in passing at the end of City of Glass, they're prequels.

They're standalone trilogies but all pertaining to the series, if I understand it correctly.
