AW your cute animal

Re: AW your cute animal

  • Happiness, that's how we feel about our dog, too.  She has a sweet disposition and is very gentle.  Over the weekend she got attacked by a neighbor dog, and the first thing I thought of after worrying about April was that I felt sorry for our neighbors.  They are really nice people, and I just don't know what I'd do with a dog who doesn't get along with other dogs.  It made me really sad.  Is your Annie a rescue?
  • We let TD try beer once and he made the ugliest face. He did not like it.

  • I only foster animals - so this is my crew for the moment.  They are looking for homes if you're in the Philly area!  More pics here: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/pet/3074163061.html

  • Mara, Diego would looove Ella.

My cat that died a few years ago was such a lush.  You couldn't leave an alcoholic drink sitting unattended without her sticking her face in it.  She was a beer snob though (yes, we tested her).

  • Awwww, Lauren, I have another boxer (Annie is also a boxer, but a mix) at my parents house who is the same color as Kona. They look a lot alike. I wish I had a picture on this computer. Diesel and Kona are both awesome though. Boxers are such amazing dogs!

Thanks. :) As soon as we saw her at the shelter, H and I knew she was 'the one'. She's kind of an uppity bittch though, very independent and fuckk off-ish.

Really, TK? I can't say bi tch now?

They really are the best. I always had labs and retrievers growing up, but my FI wanted a boxer.  We got Diesel, and then rescued Kona.  Boxers just have the best personalities.

She is. We got her from the local Humane Society. It makes me so sad when dogs have social problems with humans or other animals. I agree that I don't know what I would do either. We rescued my other boxer that is with my parents also, and he is very sweet and even though he is more energetic, loves people and other creatures. I have been really fortunate in my rescues. I mostly believe that with good training and some time and TLC, dogs can learn to get along with others. But there are that very small few who just don't have it in them, especially if they have been through too much before they came to their current home.

Also, apparently Tory is playing Nurse Puppy. She was nudging Willow and cuddling her as if she knew that Willow was too weak to play. Aw.

  • So, my short-haired dog sheds a lot.  I think the most random place I've found hair is in my bra.  Wtf.  And I notice it because the hair will like... poke, and itch.

What's the most random place you've found pet hair?
LaurenHH -- I want to steal your doggies. I want a second boxer so bad, but H is convinced that Ruby wouldnt' like having another dog around. I agree that she is a pretty pretty princess, but I think she'd love to have a friend around.
    Posted by cfaszews25
One thing I find funny about boxers is that they really love their own kind.  My mom's boxer is very shy around other dogs, except other boxers.  Our two love each other.  I bet Ruby would probably enjoy having another one around, but I would suggest getting a male.  Sometimes with the same breed, same-sex dogs don't get along as well as opposite sex do.

I totally AWed the other day when I got Lady and she wasn't eating (by the way she now eats so much that we've had to put her on a diet already), but I've taken some pics since:

    Sleeping on the couch

She usually sleeps on her back, which I find hilarious

After she caught my FI's tie - he sacrified it for the greater good.

And my favorite thing about her?  She waits outside our room each morning for us to wake up.  We're pretty sure she parks it there for most of the night.  She does the same thing when I'm out on the porch for more than a couple of minutes.  I've turned cat crazy in less than a week.

  • She's 2.5 now, but here's a variety of photos of our furbaby.  Her name is "Anya", (registered name "_____'s Once Upon a December") after the movie Anastasia.  Aka AnyaAnya, Heathen, Pup, Baby, & some not so endearing nicknames when she gets in trouble :)
In Response to Re: AW your cute animal : Ruby was the most awkward puppy. You know that scene in Bambi when he tries to walk on the frozen pond? That is how she looked until about a year old. Her legs grew before anything else. She still sometimes slips on our hardwood floors.

Yes!!  That is exactly how I picture boxers.  Their legs are so slender.

this is my Ada (aka Bug). she is blind in her right eye and is named after the Americans with Disabilities Act.

she loves being in the window

this is Cheyenne (aka Banana).  she likes fluffy, soft blankets and toy mice.

case in point, she can often be found on the bed or snuggled in a fleece blanket on the couch.

    Cheyenne is ALWAYS meowing.

Ada LOVES her crunchy plastic tunnel.

Both wish I would stop taking so many photos of them.

I used to have a fish, but Ada ate him.

  • Happiness, I'm glad you've had such success with rescues.  :D  YAY!

AATB, don't even get me started discussing the shedding problem at my house.  Our landlord lives upstairs, and she says the hair has now been tracked up to her apartment.  I say that I'm going to brush April more with the furminator to lessen the problem.  But I always forget.

<div>Anywhere you can think. With 4 dogs in this place we were constantly doing laundry. I washed the guest bed's sheets 3 times and there was still dog hair on them. I just told my friend it was very very clean dog hair and apologized. </div>

IN my fucking FOOT.  Sadie's doberman hairs are like little needles, and I constantly have to pull them out of my foot.  It's especially painful when it's such a small hair that I can't see it, and then it feels like I'm walking around on a needle all day.
