Re: Hello? Is there anybody out there?

  • So glad to hear it Mica.  I want to go to Spain... and a lot of other places too.  So hard to choose.

Loopy, yeah we think we'll give her about a week to readjust, and if she's still doing well, taking the kitten to see how it goes.

Mica, I'm glad you had a good time!

Someone found my blog by googling "not currently homeless."  Interesting.  ETA:  Make that 8 people.  WTF?

  • If there aren't any bebees by next year, we're going back to Spain.  But if there are, we'll have to put it off until either we can bring them or someone will babysit for a week or two.  It was so lovely with the relaxed pace of things, and the beautiful art and history and wonderful food and wine.
  • So are the people here sticking to TK and avoiding the PB?

J, how was your vacation?  Did I miss your recap?
  • Funny J&K.  That's an interesting search term.  Was there a particular post that came up in your blog about it?
  • I'm on both, Mica.  I'm an internet slut.

  • I'm on both somewhat too.
  • I'm on both as well, Mica. I would prefer to be on one board, but there are people on both that I enjoy talking to, so I'll just keep up with both unless one eventually dies.

  • Not that I could tell, Loops!

Mica, it was great!  We talked about it a little in the first couple pages.  To recap briefly:  No bears, scary flights, awesome weather, high altitude.  :)

  • Mica, I intend to stay here and not go there.

  • I'm on both, too. Which ever has conversation going is fine with me, although I like the format better here. It's easier to see what's going on and navigate, IMO.

This was my plan. Then I got bored on Thursday and nobody was here. So I caved.

<div>You left out the moose... Moose are important.</div>
  • The one cool thing about posting both places is that I get to have 2 sigs, which is awesome for my vanity, since I like to look at pictures of myself ;)

I went down and used H's massage chair in the man cave. Promptly fell asleep for about an hour. It was divine! Plus my sore legs feel better. They hurt from all the crazed dancing last night. It really was fun. So next time I'm scared about going to something where DD's bio mom will be there, just tell me to STFU and go have fun, OK? I was being a big doofus.

ETA: Angel, you goof. Funny. And I like your pretty high heels in this one.

  • Wally, I'm glad you had fun at the party and that DD's bio mom didn't cause any problems. Hopefully it will be the same for the wedding!

  • OH YEAH!  We saw a moose!

It was the best day of my life.  However, the day I lose the toenail I wll be sacrificing in order to see the moose will NOT be the best day of my life.  I give it about a week.

<div>I think it will be fine. It was weird to have her in our house, but oh well. Wedding day she will be back for getting ready and such. (WP is getting ready here because 1) we live across the street from the church 2) there are some cool photo spots here, particularly the stairs coming down from the kids' bedrooms, and 3) we have a ton of bathrooms. ; )</div>

  • Who needs toenails.  Summer's all but over in MN anyway so it's not like you'll be showing off your pedicure for another 9 months or so...

  • We saw moose in Maine J&K.  They are pretty awesome when you're up close and personal.
  • I wear flip flops to work so much.  Blech.  I can't even take my polish off the toenail right now it hurts so much.

    Yay gross toe J twins!

  • I'll post wherever the conversation is.

J&K and Mica- I'm glad you guys had wonderful vacations.  It's been a while since I went on a real vacation and now I really want to take one.  I thought about training to run the DIsney Princess Half so that my best friend and I could take a girls' trip (we've talked about it a few times), but when my sister announced she was pregnant and due a few weeks after I realized I wasn't going to be able to take that much time off for a vacation and to go help once the baby is born.
  • Ew, J, that almost makes me nauseous. I dropped a paint can (full!) on my toe once and it hurt so freakin' bad. I had one toenail-less summer on that toe. It kind of hurt to not have it.

OK, this is weird but just wondering. When my mom had chemo, she lost all her fingernails! I'd never heard of that happening until it happened to her; have you? She said she didn't much care that it looked unattractive, but she said it really hurt to not have them. Due to so many nerve endings and such in the fingertips. Ouch!
    image
  • Oh, I've never heard of that either, Willy.  That sounds awful :(

  • I've never heard of losing fingernails from chemo either, but given the level of toxicity in those meds, I'm not overly surprised.  I know my fingers get super sensitive if my nail peels down kind of far, or if it snags and rips down close to the nail bed.
  • Gah thinking about that made me cringe, Loopy.
