[QUOTE]I know Mica!  I keep thinking of all these things we want to do or will eventually need to replace and it's so pricey.  For example, we will need to replace our fence within a few years, and it will be at least a few grand because of the size of the yard we need to fence in.  The house was move in ready, but there were definitely plenty of little jobs.  I'm so thankful that my parents came down and my dad was able to do a lot of it for me. And yeah, i haven't even attempted to do anything with gardening.  I would be fine to plant the stuff, but I'm like you in that I hate keeping up on the maintence.  H is much better about that than me.  So I'm pretty sure I'm not doing shiit this summer and will do things next year when I have his help. <strong> At least our front was landscaped, and nobody can see our backyard anyways.</strong>

We now have nothing BUT weeds. FI doesn't fail often, but when he does...he goes big.</div><div>
</div><div>It's so ugly, and the person two houses down has the kind of grass in his yard that you want to roll around in, it's so pretty and perfect. Imma knock on his door and ask him to help us.

  • I hate yardwork. I'll help H in his yards, but I'll be damned if I pull weeds in my own. Just not my thing. Most of our yard is all natives though, and part of H's nursery, so either it doesn't need much work or he just takes care of it. Mostly I just water.

I need to go take a shower but I'm lazy. The couch is so comfy.

<div>Yeah our backyard is full of weeds.  But from talking to the neighbors it seems that's how most of the backyards are around here.  They are all really big too so it gets really expensive to reseed and stuff.  So apparently everyone just has really nice front yards and don't care so much about the back.  H is too anal for that though so he's already talking about treating the lawn.  Again, something that can gladly wait for him.</div>

  • Our house is mostly unlandscaped, but there's a bit of lawn in the front.  The previous owners let it go to weeds, so I need to call the gardener to change it back to lawn so that we're no longer the eye sore of the block.  We just had all the ratty palm trees trimmed, so we're working on improving things.

I'm inspired to try to keep at least the front of the house presentable.  Our neighbors across the street have a daily gardener and an acre of landscaped garden that looks like a park, complete with a detached greenhouse.
  • I'm here and my tummy hurts. I'm on antibiotics and they're killing me.
  • Birdie!

I'm sorry that you're not feeling well.

Are you going to be around for the Derby?  We have our flight and are working on tickets.  Please tell me that you'll be in town that weekend!
  • I will be coming back that weekend! I'm moving to my hometown the week before. I haven't really mentioned it much on here. But yes, I'll be coming back that Friday night and will be in town through Sunday.

I started antibiotics on Saturday and just started probiotics this morning. Do I have any hope of them helping since I didn't start them when I started the antibiotics?
  • Better late than never.  Yogurt with active cultures helps too.

I heard about your move from Kate.  Congratulations!
  • Thanks! :) I wanted to wait until I gave my notice to talk about it much on here.

H got me greek yogurt last night with granola and blueberry. I kind of choked it down, but it wasn't the best. If this doesn't get better I think I'm going to have to go back and ask to be put on another antibiotic. I don't know if that would help.

<div>Congratulations!  (I hope at least).  Is it a good thing that you're moving home?  </div>

  • How long have you been on the antibiotics?  How long is the course?

The probiotics can take up to 2 days to really help.  :/  If you don't like greek yogurt, the best research with antibiotics and yogurt was done using Activia.  The study was funded by Dannon, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
  • I got really motivated last year and planted a rhododendron on each side of the front porch (more like a stoop). One completely died. One lived. Nature, please explain.

I just don't get it, because when we lived at the condo, and had a 4ft. patio, I had lots of plants and I sat out there for at least 30 minutes every day, weeding, etc. It was relaxing. Now that it's actually OUTSIDE and I have to squat in dirt, I'm less interested.
  • Yes it is beach! H and I decided last August we wanted to move back, but we wanted to wait until after the wedding and then the holidays came. I was kind of waiting for him to find something before I looked, but he told me to start looking and I did. I got the first job I applied for. So I'm going back in a few weeks and will be living in my aunt's house. H is staying here until he finds something. When he does, he'll sell the house here and we'll live in my aunt's house for awhile until we find a house we really like. My aunt left the house to my mom, so she's just going to be charging us however much the utilities cost. It's a pretty good deal (besides the distance thing).
  • I started Sunday (not Saturday as I previously said, I'm getting my days mixed up). 3xDay for 10 days.
  • ok I am having trouble getting over the fact some of you actually like Dominos????

I feel like I have been so busy this week and it is only Tuesday. ugh.

  • I'm on predinose too, all because of stupid mosquito bites!
  • Dominos is my favorite pizza place.

Well, actually my favorite was a local place here, but they closed a few months ago.
  • Dominos isn't the best pizza, but it's still pizza.

Most antibiotics will cause some stomach upset, so switching won't necessarily help things.  The important thing is to take the probiotics and yogurt.  If you get blatant runny stools, that's one thing, but if your stomach just feels funny, I wouldn't switch.
  • Last night was worse than today. I felt icky this morning, but then was fine most of the day. Tonight has not been fun. I hope it passes.

Of course I'm freaking myself out because of what happened with my aunt. I'm trying to tell myself I'm normal.
  • i like their new crust...but the rest still tastes like cardboard.

I am a pizza nut...could eat it all the time...but i just can't justify spending money on dominos....I would rather Papa Ginos (regional chain) or a local place...but hey thats just me :)

    now i want pizza.
  • Ooph, prednisone might be the culprit.  It causes stomach ulcers.
  • Oh. Awesome. :) I did miss my dose last night so I had to take a bit more today.

I'll DD this because it's gross, but this is what happens when mosquitos don't like you

  • That's the underside of my arm by the way
  • Yeah. I guess the mosquitos don't like my fat arms? :) I had two more bites on my other arm, but they didn't get to be that bad. I don't know if the Costa Rican skeeters made me super allergic or what.
  • All this pizza talk is making me crave it.  So much for the enchilladas that we were going to have.
  • eeks ... this is going to sound weird...but, take a banana and peel it.  Use the inside of the peel and rub it on your arm....leave the pulpy banana stuff on it for as long as you can stand...it will help the swelling go down and make it itch less.
