Snarky Brides

Saturday!

Anyone else awake yet?  I went to bed at like 9 last night and slept until 7 this morning. It was fantastic.  My sister is here for the weekend, so we might go out shopping for a bit today.  I need to do laundry and go grocery shopping some time too, but I'm not feelin' it right now.

Any fun plans for the weekend?? My sister and I are seeing OAR tonight in downtown Minneapolis, so that should be fun :) I just hope I can stay awake for the whole concert. haha  It doesn't start until 8:30.

Re: Saturday!

  • I'm up! H went out to get me a bagel for breakfast.  So sweet ha ha.

I've been cleaning all morning and will be doing that most of the day.  I've also got to find time to go to the grocery store and gym today.  I'm definitely boring today ha ha.

I just had some breakfast, a load of laundry is in and now I want to hurry up and clean the rest of the place so that I might actually get some reports done.

We have no exciting plans for this weekend.

My only exciting news might be that a little more than a week after stopping BCPs I appear to be losing weight. I am not going to complain one bit...if I can lose weight and my face doesn't explode I will be literally over the moon (although in all honesty I care more about the safe return of my cycle but I don't have enough charted yet to know if that's happening...and its only been like 10 days so way too early to tell)...
  • Numbers- woohoo!  Just be prepared for your face to flip the eff out.  Mine did, but it only lasted a month and then it was ok again.  It gets better! haha

Duds- I'm jealous. If we haven't let the dogs out by about 5:30, Levi will piss in the house (totally not his fault), unless we stayed up later. If they're not fed by like 6:30-7, game over. They are barking and whining and howling.  We should probably shift back their schedule an hour or so ;)

And I want a donut now, Shay.
  • Morning! Our town is having a parade this morning so we are going to head out to watch it. I'm really excited. I've never seen a small town parade before. Plus there is a chili cook off and some food trucks. Edie- have fun at the game! Go pens! Steph- OAR is awesome! I'm jealous. Have fun!

<div>Wahaha! Yeah, I could handle a month as long as that is all it is...I mean, I could handle more (I already have several times over in my lifetime) but I would rather not have to! This happened to me. I miss my pregnancy skin!

K and I are hanging out today. She had a fever last night from her shot so we were up every 2 hours because she was so miserable.
  • pssht. My skin freaked out on me the first few weeks. Like, worse than it's ever been.  But it's ok now.  Who knows if its' the pregnancy or the harsh winter air though.

Have fun, Hike! I love all that cheesy small-town stuff. :)  And I LOVE OAR. I think this will be my 4th? 5th? time seeing them. I hope they play a lot of old stuff still.
  • Morning!

I went to bed really early (for me) last night--I think I feel asleep at like 11:30 after we got home from dinner. I went to work, tutored, we went to the kids' concert at work, then had a nice dinner out, so it was a long day anyway. Usually I hate going to bed earlier than midnight.

I woke up early today and it's snowing lightly.  I'm trying to figure out what's snow-appropriate to wear to brunch with Con.
  • aww, poor Berry, KW.  Is she better today?

Nates, I'm not sure I've ever chosen my clothes because it was snowing.  I mean, unless there's like 2 feet of slush on the ground ;)
  • Steph, H got three of those for himself ha ha.

Hike, have fun!  I love small town stuff like that.

  • Steph- I think the cheesy will be out in full force! They are also having a pet parade! We moved from a town of 60,000 to this small town of 16,000 so I'm reallllllly excited!

I saw OAR once in high school, it was such a good concert. I had such a crush on the whole band. They'll HAVE to do old stuff! Enjoy!

  • Oh, I have to. I'm anal about the condition of my shoes and bags--no snow watermarks for me. But it means transferring everything to a different bag, digging for shoes in my closet, so I'm weighing my options. I'm also trying to decide if I can pull off this messy-sexy hair right now.

I hope K feels better, KW!

I'm scared of pregnancy hair.  Everyone at my job is scaring me with all their stories about breakage, little face-framing wispy pieces, horse's manes of hair. WTF, people. Do you never want me to have kids? ;)
  • Yeah, I just rock the salt stains. I gave up trying to avoid them a long time ago. ;) Have fun at lunch with Con!

And, hair. Mine is already thicker. It's ridiculous. Apparently you don't shed any hair while you're pregnant, which is why it gets so full (and also explains why people talk about losing so much hair after they pop out the kid. It's just the thousands of strands of hair you didn't lose for 9 months.)  It's an interesting journey, that's for sure.
  • Good Morning!

My H is currently cooking bacon for breakfast because he owes me big.  At 3am he decided to roll over in bed and kick me.  I now have a huge bruise on my hip.  Jerk said he thought he was fighting off an alligator.

Big birthday party today.  Our little niece is turning 1 so we're all heading up north for the party.  Best day ever!  So I'll get cake today.  Man, I love cake.  plus, we'll stop at my H's favorite pizza joint on the way home.  Yum... gyro pizza.
  • Morning all. H just suggested we go out for breakfast, and I was contemplating going back to bed. Maybe we can go for lunch instead and I can grab an extra hour of sleep. Last night was one of those nights where I woke up every hour and looked at the clock...ugh.

It's snowing here, and we got a fair bit overnight but somehow the roads are still bogged down and not plowed. That aggravates me because we've known for days that we're supposed to get snow this weekend and yet, the snow removal plan doesn't seem to be in place. If I look outside, there are two cars in the ditch and one that was struggling to make it up the small hill in front of the house. We don't have THAT much, so why the F hasn't it been salted and/or cleared? To make it worse, the salt depot-thingy is down the street from us and all the plows are parked there, just hanging out. So stupid.

</div><div>We don't have to go out til 1:30ish but they better be done by then...I also hate it because our place is a condo so it always gets plowed...then I get out of our complex and realize nothing else has been!

    </div>
  • My hair is already so thick, I'm almost afraid of what it might become. It will be a PITA to style, for sure. There must be some kind of vitamin or something you can do for all the breakage, though, I'm thinking.

Alright, time to get ready.  Have a great weekend, everyone!
  • No kidding, number. It's just enough snow to make a mess. Our complex isn't plowed yet, but they came through with that giant block thing that compresses the snow. So for now, at least, the snow is compacted so that we can drive on it in the meantime with no issues. The main roads, though...forget it. What a mess.

Aaaaand, the plows are still sitting there while the cars try to get out of the ditch.

  • I hear you; my hair is normally insanely thick, so who knows what will happen by September. I haven't seen any breakage, yet.  But I'm planning on getting my hair cut/dyed like normal. Hopefully that helps.  I still take my biotin (on top of the prenatals and B complex), so we'll see!
  • haha Sept. I love that they don't bother plowing the snow. They just compact it so you can drive ON it.

P.S. I want some damn snow. There is NOTHING left here; it all melted last week. Hell, our blazing maple tree still has leaves on it! (Dead leaves, but still. they never fell.)
  • Pregnancy hair was awesome too :) It got all full and shiny and grew like mad. After pregnancy hair...not so much lol

K is feeling like her old self today. We gave her some baby acetometiphan (sp) to get to sleep, then the fever officially broke around 4am and we snuggled in the bed until 8.

We just went out to play in the snow and she was so mesmerized by the falling flakes. I'm sure any neighbor who saw me was like "wtf is that chick doing". I was wearing my dads bisht from Kuwait with Kaylee inside strapped to me with her ring sling. Weirdo, that would be me lol.
  • LoL, Steph, I know. I think it's because the townhome complex has a small-time landscaper on contract and they can't get to all the properties fast enough to plow everything in the morning. I think they bring the big block thingy and then plow when they can. At least we can get out, even if we can't use the main roads! Ah, Canada. ;)

You also just reminded me that I have Biotin that I could be taking. My hair is mega thick, but it's breaking a bit too. Boo. Baby is sucking the essence from me.

  • Good morning, all!

Since I got H Skyrim (a video game) as a surprise, he now feels like he has to get me something. I told him he doesn't have to, and he gave me this look like, "Well, now I really have to." haha So we're going to go get a movie I've been wanting and go out for a lunch of greasy diner burgers. SO not the best thing for us, but we've been eating well this week (besides a McDonald's trip early this week).

Other than that, we have no plans for the weekend besides work for me tomorrow, and homework for H.

  • September - our complex isn't plowed yet but th ecompany is pretty good about coming to do it...I am sure it will be done by noon...and yes, I will then be a bit plowed into my spot but that's okay, we will take DHs truck...based on what has accumulated on our fence I would say that we have only had about 5-7cm so far...there is about 5 cm on the fence but the wind is blowing.  But yeah, its enough to make the roads crap...

    Morning ladies!

Today will be laundry then dinner at Pad Thai with some friends of ours. It's snowing here today, but the West side is getting slammed more then the East right now. It can stay there.

H is checking flights to London. His company will pay for his and it looks like he has enough miles for me to fly for free. So we're leaving a few days before his workshop so we can check out London, before his workshop in Oxford. So for 3 days I'm on my own in Oxford, England....whatever shall I do? ;)

  • I got a text from Adam this morning "that was scary, glad there werent many cars on the road" - he still hasnt explained what that means but I can only assume, the highway down to where he works is like a windey race track and I hate it. We are getting pretty heavy snow right now and im not overly in the mood to drive in it so I might just walk to the bank for my appointment rather than drive. Other than that, tonight is lobster night, I got 4 huge lobster tails for 50$. I love costco so hard sometimes.
  • Morning!  I slept for about 10 hours last night,a nd it was awesome.  H is out looking at guns with a friend, and I'm going to do my workout soon, and then try to get some work done before he comes home.  I'm almost caught up (I didn't have a work computer until Thursday, so I'm behind on paperwork from that).  Then we're going to clean, and maybe go furniture shopping.

  • Nebb - when you go to Costco for Lobster tails do they come fresh or frozen? Cooked?
  • I go when the fish guy is there (theres usually a big sign up in the meat section saying when he is there) and they are previously frozen so you gotta eat them within the next day or so. He also has tons of crab legs, little lobster tails (fresh water?) clams, muscles, huge prawns and scallops.

Is this your Valentine dinner? Thought you were saving that for a romantic night with TWD premiere?
