LVB, I think you're probably nicer IRL than you are here. I think you're probably just as honest, but I think you probably take a little more care to phrase things a bit more delicately. Not all sugarcoating, but maybe "Hey, that sounded dumb what do you mean?" instead of "stop being a stupid bitch, you stupid bitch."

Well, at first I was thinking "I bet they really want to hear my opinion on this, since it hasn't been brought up yet!" then I went to the "I will only add when I need to or can't keep my mouth shut."

And I realize some people will always think I get a kick out of getting people going, and that is fine. I don't need everyone to love me and appreciate my lifestyle choices, but I appreciate the dialogue this board creates.

An FYI, I love your shoes. I could not rock out and function like a normal human in those, despite how much I wish I could!

I think Birdie would disagree with you. Apparently it took her a year to be able to read me right. I'm actually a very nice person. Filter is totally shot though. And I just don't realize that someone would possibly take something I said differently than I meant it (which is meant with love or care or whatever)

I am rather bitchy and facetious IRL especially at work but that is just how it is. I don't really ever let loose on here.

My co-worker and I joke that if it wasn't for the gutter our minds would be homeless. Like I said I am rather inappropriate.

I couldn't either, because they were too big, as was pointed out earlier in the thread. They were done as soon as the ceremony was over.

I see what you're saying. I guess..it's the way you present the information that makes me think you're getting a kick out of getting people going. You tend to present things in a rather dramatic way. Which again, is not a bad thing. I'm dramatic as hell. And I like the dynamic it creates. Because I enjoy the different personalities and viewpoints here, and I absolutely think it's boring when everyone is getting along and groupthinking.

LVB is very direct and I come from a family and old friends that are either avoiders or like to sugar coat things. But yes, I've realized now that she is not being malicious when she's saying what she's thinking and sometimes you just need to cut out the B.S.

I thought BIL and FIL disliked me for a good year for this same reason. They weren't shy to poke at me and I took it the wrong way for awhile. Now I laugh with them and poke back when I can think fast enough.

Nope, legitimately someone who likes to be liked. I think some people (Erin and Crash are coming to mind) are a bit quick to think "TROLL!!!" I think we legit get some folks that just don't get it. I think you're a lot like you are on here. You're honest, quick to point out when people are being wrong, but are somewhat delicate about it. I don't think you're "fake" in terms of how you present yourself online versus how you are IRL

I'm jumping back in here, but I would say that I'm much quieter IRL than I am here. Not that I'm all out there, I think I fly under the radar a lot of the time, but I'm more likely to speak up here than I would be IRL. Here, if you tell me I'm stupid and that you hate me, I have the option of walking away, ya know? I have a lot of left over issues from middle school/high school of being liked/accepted.

I would always know where I stand with you. And you don't seem to hold a real grudge. you get pissed and have it out and move past it.

me too. You are kind of quiet IRL, but it makes you easy/fun to hang out with. Your personality doesn't clash with others, IMO. And you're so sweet and smile when you talk...you're friendly without being overbearing. I would hang out with you a lot if I could!

You guys are both right.

I'm exceptionally nice to people IRL, especially if I don't know them. I lived with someone I hated for 6 months, so I got really good at being nice to people I don't like. I still see her occasionally and we're always pleasant to each other, even though we both know we'd rather be 10 miles away. It's not fake because we're not pretending to LIKE each other, just doing what we need to do to not be total assholes in public.

But you'll know if I don't like you or think you did something dumb, even if I'm nice. I try to hold grudges, and occasionally I'll hold a really dumb grudge for long enough that I can't remember why I'm pissed in the first place, but aside from a good call out/discussion/debate, I really don't care for conflict a whole lot, especially in the workplace or with people that I might randomly run into.

And I'm brutally honest with my friends that I know can take it. I'm nicely honest with the more delicate people in my life. But I prefer to be able to say "No, that's a really stupid idea."
