• Shannon, will you next door to me so we can have crochet night? In college 4 of my girlfriends and I would get together, watch Top Chef/Project Runway and crochet. People always made fun of us but I love making things.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: did you know? : No, sadly, they do not. I just always had an interest in the process, and felt that there would be no better time in the life of a family to help them than after a loved one passed away. I still think that, even though I am no longer practicing. Perhaps rightfully so, not many people were convinved that they should be dealing with a 20 year old after grandma died, so I often ended up behind the scenes (which is fine too but honestly, not nearly as personally satisfying). It's truly a fascinating line of work, and working around death and dying has taught me so much about life.

I feel like you would be a really interesting person IRL - you are here, too, don't get me wrong. But I would love to pick your brain. (Which, for some reason, feels like a pun here - which is just beyond wrong.)

That's awesome! I don't know anyone else under the age of 87 who crochets, so this makes me feel better.

• It was awesome until the year I graduated college. Then the economy started tanking the the first thing to go was funding for archaeological investigations :( I'm hoping I can volunteer for my old boss over the summer and get back in once things improve.
• A few months ago I was the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I won the role having beat out people who have been taking singing lessons their entire lives.

I used to be in Karate when I was younger. I quit when I reached Green belt in grade 7.

I've been with FI 8 years. We went to high school together and graduated in the same class (he even asked me out and I turned him down). We both moved away for college and ended up in the same town working at the same store. We went on a date and have been together ever since.

Yeah, the economy sucks. I fully sympathize, my career has also taken a hit because of the economy :( I'm glad you want to get back into it, once you find a career you love it sucks not being able to do it.

• Yep, I think I will be a volunteer forever though. It's not a job that is easy/possible to have without living out of hotels and having uncertain funds.

I love to crochet :) I mostly make purses and bags, but am starting to expand to blankets. My wedding present from my great grandmother was an afghan she crocheted specifically for my wedding. My grandmother apologized that it was only half the size it should be, because ggma passed away 5 months before the wedding. I treasure it and cried when I opened the gift bag.

• Oh and crocheting hats is my new thing too. I give them to my mom's knitting club and they donate them to the local hospital.

Oddly enough, I cannot knit. I have tried to knit since I'm 10 but just cannot do it.
• I am buttf*ckingly terrified of heights and the dark.

Sometimes when I watch Ghost Whisperer at night by myself I get freaked out and can't go to sleep because I think there's a ghost behind me watching me.

I've never been to Canada or Mexico.

I can't go to sleep unless some part of me is touching Noodle.

When I get nervous or stressed out, I pop my jeans.

• I've never been on an airplane

I could eat PB&J every day and not get sick of it

I have 13 first cousins on my mom's side

I have a freckle on the bottom of my right foot
• I know all the words to most of Jay-Z songs?

• I have an ancestor who fought and died at the Alamo.

H claims to be descended from Jesse James (the outlaw, not Sandra Bullock's ex).

the only people in my family on both sides that have died below the age of 80 were both squished in freak accidents. everyone else died of old age.

I can play basketball equally well left handed or right handed. other than that, I'm a total righty. can't even use a spoon with my left hand.

[QUOTE]I lost the hearing in my right ear at age 7. I lost most of the hearing in my left ear - overnight - at age 25 (I now have a cochlear implant, and you probably would never know I have a hearing impairment if you met me and I didn't tell you). I am not engaged yet (but we've been ring shopping twice in the past two weeks!). I was born in Fargo. My 8th birthday party had a Cabbage Patch Kid theme (because I had gotten a CPK for the Christmas before my birthday).

yea me too. I'm just short of being a candidate for a cochlear implant. but most folks on this board know that already, so I didn't put it on my list of things.

• Everytime I sneeze, its more than 6 times in a row.

I am abnormally frightened of people dressed as animals, yet I let Fi talk me into going to Disney for our honeymoon.

I am a terrible driver. TERRIBLE.

• I've been to over 35 DMB concerts, and am in the Central Park DVD.

I was born Oct 24, and my brother and sister were born on Oct 25 at 5:30pm 5 yrs apart.

I cracked my tailbone getting thrown from a horse.

I can crochet too :) (Though I haven't in a while)

And my 1st concert was also NKOTB... in Lake Placid NY, I have an autograph from Jordan Knight.

• I'm way late, but this is too cute!

I'm allergic to fruit, I hate vegetables with a passion, and ever since I got the flu on my honeymoon and threw up steak, I can barely eat beef. I see this becoming a huge problem. :)

If my husband would let me, we'd have a house full of boxers and any other dog that has a physical/mental disability.

I met Mario Lopez a couple of years ago and all I could say was "you smell delicious!"
