    Hi all!

I'm watching Project Runway, I want to read Mica's smut and I love Pride & Prejudice as well.  The Colin Firth version is CLEARLY the superiour P&P
  • Options
I thought P&P sucked.  But I was also a high school freshman, I think, when I tried to read it.  Perhaps I should give it another shot.

</div><div>I especially loved the pond scene!  I just thought that it was so well done, the casting was spot on, especially Mrs. Bennet!  Alison Steadman was fantastic in that role.  Colin was just the right amount of haughty and Jennifer Ehle has those gorgeous eyes!</div><div>
</div><div>Did you see The King's Speech?  Jennifer Ehle was in it. I hardly recognized her!  Good character actor.</div>

Well, I liked Christopher, until the end of last night's episode!  I love Ven's clothes and want him to sew me a wardrobe.

    You?

Lizzie, the casting of that film IS spot on.  Mr. Bennet is my favorite.  I didn't see King's Speech

    I <3 young Colin Firth.

P&P is my favorite book of all time.

My stuff is online.  I wrote for fun.  It was a little gratifying receiving fan emails.  But as most of the stuff is about an ex, I don't really like revisiting any of it now.

I had a tendency to try to read books that I was not quite mature enough for.  I was always an excellent reader, so a lot of the books at my maturity/age level didn't appeal to me because they were "easy" books or "kids books."  I think it ruined a few of the classics for me.

Mica, you can share with me. I understand twisted writer minds (I've been called worse with the new series I started).

J&K, how is it going with Box Kitty and medicine? Any easier? Whisky and I had ourselves a battle tonight with it.

I've only read this page, so, evening everyone! H and I are watching The Return of the King and probablly going to bed early. Tomorrow we might go back to the cabin where we got married and hang out for the day/night.

I had to read P&P in High School, but I didn't actually read it.  I used a combination of Cliff Notes, Pink Monkey (a book analysis/summary site) , and Spark Notes to do my assignments.  I was horrible.

My mom gave me the Clan of the Cave Bear to read in 6th grade and I got in trouble for bringing it to school (sex scenes were too graphic). My mom basically said WTF, she's not reading porn leave her alone and after that I read and brought all her "grown-up" books to class just to prove I didn't have to read middle school books.

    I was a brat.

Hi Sesh!  I'm sorry you and Whisky battled it out.  It definitely hasn't gotten much easier, but at least we can get it in her (most of it, most of the time) now.  We're giving it three times a day now, and it's a bit sedating, so I think that helps a bit.  Unfortunately though, no one else can medicate her.  So we were running into a "wtf are we going to do with her while we're on vacation" issue, but my brilliant H figured out how to compound it into a gel (like vaseline consistency) that we can have his parents smear on her front leg so she'll have to lick it off.  We have a gel like that for her digestive issues, and it works great, so he's going to mix up a tiny bit this weekend and we're going to test run it.

I will say that I'm gonna add some books to my iPad Kindle app to read on the plane to Florida.  I think if I tried to reread some of the classics now, I might actually enjoy them.

[QUOTE]I've never heard of Brave New World.  That either makes me old or my small town high school really behind the times.  Let's go with the latter.  Lizi, I went through that last year and it sucked!  Glad your CU is so great about it though.  Wrigley, I'm totally with you on the subtlety in great books.

Haha!  That's awesome.  I was reading To Kill a Mockingbird in 6th grade, and my English teacher asked me what I thought, and I told him I loved it....he was so surprised.  I didn't completely understand some of the more subtle and mature themes, but even then I knew a good book when I read one.

I hope it works. If we put something on Whisky's paw, he just stares at it and goes to sleep and smears it everywhere. Punk.

I hear ya on finding other people though. We are kind of bound to the house for that reason unless he can come with us.

The best thing about getting my Kindle is getting the classics for free.  I read a bunch of books that I somehow missed reading in high school and college.  I'm re-reading War & Peace right now, and I have a ton of Henry James to read when we're traveling.
