Morning!

Re: Morning!

  • I actually really like the LivingSocial activities.  They usually include a meal and sometimes include alcohol.  We got one last summer for tubing in West Virginia, and they fed us a barbeque dinner with beer.  Groupon is also now offering event packages, but I havent found one I've liked yet.

  • There are never really any fun Living Social events around here.  There are probably a ton in Memphis, but then we would have to look into staying the night and all of that extra stuff.

  • Dmills- do you guys take 39 to get there? Because I might actually be home that weekend... and I could totally venture to Wausau or something as you pass through :)

Morning! The electricity went out for a few seconds this morning, and everything popped back on which woke me up. Oh well, I've been going to sleep earlier lately anyway.

I have to work all weekend. Damn retail and sales. I will see my mom Monday evening, though. H and I are taking her to dinner to tell her about the baby. I wanted to tell her as soon as I found out, but I want to tell her face to face, and she's had the flu. I'm giving her a little bit to not be sick before I see her. I don't need to be sick right now.

ETA: Oh, and FB doesn't know yet. I want to get to 12 weeks first.

We do! We're actually planning to drive up on 4th of July, but I know that Michael will have no intrest in stopping for a gtg in the middle of a 12 hour drive (well 10.5 if I drive). But we'll be up there for 1 1/2 weeks so I figured that weekend, I could venture out for a gtg. Wausau is only about 1 1/2 hrs from us, maybe not even that far.

  • Since we moved to FL (IL's live in MI, and my parents live in AZ), we never have family around for the smaller holidays. As bad as it sounds, I don't always mind. H is flying out to Vegas today for a bachelor party, and then I am spending some girl time this weekend at the beach.

Morning all! Congrats SEWF! H and I are in western PA for the weekend with MIL and SFIL. We don't usually make Memorial Day a big family weekend, but we really needed to get out of Dodge for a few days. Hoping to meet up with some of H's HS friends, and his BM who lives out here with his family.

I left and went to MI for about 6 years or so. I originally went up there for college and then stayed a little while after when I got a job. But as soon as I could I high-tailed it back to FL. The cold is not for me. :)

    Morning, ladies!
Steph, don't feel bad about leaving work. I was supposed to go to work from 8-12 today and i'm still laying on the couch. I had a non-productive week so I know if I go I'll just mess around anyways and being home is better. I just really hope I don't get in trouble. ;)

I'm hosting a little margarita dinner tonight for my gal pals, then H and I are doing WHATEVER we want tomorrow, for the first time in literally 2 months. I have an awesome bloody mary burger planned. woot.

    ETA: Happy Birthday, Sere! :)

[QUOTE]SEWF, I know what you mean.  And if we didn't have internet shopping, I'd be more inclined to explore moving.  But I love KC.  It's safe.  We have good restaurants.  The Sprint Center is an awesome venue.  The schools (at least on the KS side) are excellent (not that we're having kids, lol).  And it's pretty cheap to fly to Chicago or St L for a weekend getaway.  We have lots of golf courses.  Lake of the Ozarks is also an easy weekend getaway.  We have all four seasons.  It's never horribly hot (like AZ) nor horribly snowbound/cold (Dakotas).  I guess I'm the poster child for KC.

</div><div>HA, you certainly sound like it! I do like it here, but this has been home my entire life. I'm sure if I moved somewhere, the novelty would wear off there, too. It is possible that we'll eventually move to Colorado, but not any time soon. With my family here and the baby coming, I want to be near them. Besides free-ish baby care, I want my child to have the kind of family life I did, with cousins (well, it will be second cousins for the baby) and aunts and uncles and grandparents all around for everything.

<div>Oh, I didn't live there, just went to Orlando/Melbourne for vacation a couple of months ago. I just loved everything down there (besides the theme parks - too crowded). I loved the weather and everything was so gorgeous. I loved going to the beach in March, and there was zero humidity, so it was warm, but not hot like it gets here. And I'm not really a cold weather girl.</div>

  • Sewf, you definitely have to time the theme parks right. H and I went at the end of January last year and it was perfect. hardly any wait times or crowds at all, cool and not unbearably hot. I would never go during the spring or summer unless it was a free trip (because who can pass up a free ticket to Disney? Not this girl).

  • Feel better AATB!

Morning everyone!  We have a half day today and I could not be more excited for it.  Plus we have Monday off so it's a 3 1/2 day weekend.  Yay!  I'm so sick of the drama going on at school right now. Apparently an "official" (in quotes because it wasn't official) announcement was made at the staff meeting by someone who shouldn't be making announcements that we are for sure closing.  Then one of the teachers found it appropriate to tell all the students in their class about it yesterday. So now the parents are freaking out b/c they haven't been told anything.

This game of telephone has got to stop.  The administrative team has suggested we just call it a day and close after the last day of school but J is too stubborn, so she's going to keep it open herself supposedly.  You bet your ass I'm not working under her again. I'd rather sub.  I'd rather flip burgers FFS.
  • Chels- I just read your blog.  You're doing awesome!  Congrats on the skirt ;)
