    Mi FI does a similar thing.  He asks if I'm growing a beard.  I'm one of those super hairless Asians (no arm hair).  A beard!?  (He's just jealous.  FI is one of those people who has shadow almost immediately after he shaves a la Homer Simpson.)

    I definitely tried to do this. I'm new and kind of failed drastically at it, and simply annoyed people. I also did it for my own personal gain, but it seems like everyone else wanted it to liven up too.  I did try though.
