Good morning! I left myself sleep in a bit because I dont have to make my lunch (i have no more lunch stuff and I asked a friend if he wanted to go out for lunch) and it was glorious! Man, I love sleeping.

Here is another picture of my candles I made lastnight, after theyve all pretty much hardened (dried? I dunno how to explain it)

• I have not made candles for years - looks like fun! I actually got a little sleep too. First time I have has seven hours in two weeks. Nice.

I think I only sleep 7 full hours on the weekend. I usually dont make it into bed until 11:30, and then I always read. I usually hit around 6 hours of sleep at best.
• One of the best parts of the upcoming weekend: a new episode of Mad Men!
• I got about 4 hours of sleep, so I'm dragging today and am very grumpy. Just trying to make it to 2:30.

We're heading home either late tonight or early tomorrow. I'm excited. Tomorrow is a book event and hanging out with family. And reading. I'm almost done with Divergent and then I'm starting a new one about the rapture (kind of, it's a YA fantasy-type book).

lol right??? Sundays used to suck because it meant that the weekend was over, but with Mad Men? Doesnt even matter. Its totally worth it.
• Nebb, your candles look great.  I will admit I stalked your "prepared" board and grabbed it for myself to try also.   My daughter would like to make them to, so it sound like the next time she is home from college that will be the plan.

Ugh, speaking of my daughter, she turns 21 this Sunday.  How the helll did that happen?  No need to answer, just wow.
• Happy Friday! This week has actually been pretty great at work. I've been busy but not overwhelmed and a few people I didn't expect to come through for me have which is always a pleasant surprise!

We may be going camping this weekend but it's not definite. The weather is suppose to be gorgeous in the area where we usually camp.

We went to go see the Raven last night, which was pretty good. We went to a 4:15 showing so we had the whole theater to ourselves. It was so nice not to have idiots talking through the movie. Afterwards we went out for a few beers and to watch the game. This is the second night in a row we did that and it shows on the scale. Damn beer bloat.

• Morning ladies. Still in dog-sitting hell. The girl dog, the one with skin allergies, chewed her skin so raw overnight that she was actively bleeding on the floor this morning. I was running late for work, so I didn't really have time to treat it/clean it up, so I just gave her more medicine and put her back in her crate (to keep the boy dog from licking her too). I don't know what to do anymore. Her owner comes back next week, so I'm reluctant to take her to the vet. If it were going to be longer than a few days, then yeah, I'd take her to the vet and just ask him to reimburse us or something. It's really stressing both me and my H out. He sorta lost his temper yesterday when I discovered the chewed up baseboard, so he separated himself from me and the dogs so he could cool off.

Plus, the pump on our pool broke down yesterday afternoon, and the repairman for our dryer bailed on us. All of these stressors are just snowballing right now, and I can tell it's taking its toll on me and my H. We're snippy with each other, and it's not good.

On the plus side, though, we're having a morale day in the office, so at lunchtime we're all heading down to South Beach for a scavenger hunt and lunch at TGI Fridays.

I thought last weeks episode was stunningly good, just all of the symbolism and meaning. A lot of people are not liking how heavy handed they are being but I think its just so perfect how theyre executing it. Especially ending the episode with tomorrow never knows? This season has been perfection. I know Im always talking about it, but you should really check out Tom & Lorenzo - they do a weekly recap of the episodes and then a Mad Style post where they deconstruct all of the things that happen, the meaning of what people are wearing, etc etc. They see things I would never have even thought of and it makes the show seem even more perfect.
• Nebb, I will check out Tom and Lorenzo! That sounds awesome.
• megh, I'd be locking the dogs in the garage. What a hassle. Your friend needs to board them from now on, for sure.

I can't wait for True Blood. And Falling Skies. it's kind of a lame show, but I need to know what happened after the season finale last year.
• Morning ladies! Nebb- they look awesome! Meagh- are you exercising the dogs? Like long walks and stuff? Im still reeling from last night Vampire Diaries (dont judge me). I cant believe the season ended like that! I think im going to be planting some bulbs today. Its nice out.

Happy 21st birthday to your daughter, Ski! Does she have big plans?

Long long day of work ahead, I usually do ok with about 6 hours of sleep but many nights in a row of 5-6 hours is wearing on me. I would love to sleep for a good 10 hours straight!

have a good day!

Mehg, that sounds horrible. That poor doggie!  Is there a way you can get ahold of the owner?  I agree, the garage might be the best place so you don't get any more damages anywhere.

TGIF indeed!  This week flewwww by for me (most weeks do nowadays).  I'm VERY excited because I got my new camera last night, so I'm hoping to play with it a bit this weekend! :)

My little brother's graduation party (well his first one) is happening tomorrow a month early.  Dad is throwing him one in June, but my mom's sid eof the family really doesn't want anythign to do with my dad, plus half of them are busy then and my grandpa can't travel, so we decided to throw him another one here so grandpa could be there.  My uncle from California is going to be here (part of why we picked this weekend) so I'm excited to see him!
Megh, I used to be really into True Blood, but the breaks in between seasons are so long it's ridiculous.  I hope I can get back into it.
Posted by edielaura
The wait kills me, too. It makes me wish the season was 24 episodes long, instead of 12.

Blue - H is supposed to be walking them during the day while I'm at work, since it's way too hot in the afternoons by the time I get home (usually around 92F), but with the dog's chewed up pad on her foot, she doesn't walk well in the first place, let alone on hot concrete. I'd walk them myself first thing in the mornings, but they're way too strong for me, and we live in an urban area where if they got loose, they'd most likely get hit by cars or just plain run away. I feel bad that they're not getting a lot of exercise, but I also kind of blame the owner because he didn't do a bang-up job of training them when he first got them. He basically adopted them and then threw them in the backyard. What a mess.

No scent, I'm not much into "smells". My mom wants me to make her some with scents so she's making me take her to the candle suPply store tomorrow to pick something out.
• Morning!

My mom is flying into town today! I'm taking the dogs to a kennel which is basically a huge fenced in farm where they run around all day. We are going to Savannah and St. Augustine on Saturday and Sunday and then I'm taking her to the zoo and for pedicures for mothers day on Monday. We are also going to set up my registry and eat a lot. Haha.

Thanks! I think I might be an asshole though. The kennel says we can bring our own food or use theirs. My dogs have stomachs of steel so I might just use theirs. The place it kinda expensive so I want to get my moneys worth. Ha

H's friend is deployed on a ship in the middle of the ocean. We've emailed him, and he called once from a satellite phone, but there's not much he can do from out there, you know? And we don't have a garage, we have a carport. Even if we did, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to coop the dogs up in the garage in 90F weather. They'd swelter out there.

Does anyone have anything special planned for mothers day?
• have fun in St Augustine Hike! I really miss it there.

Just talked to FH and it looks like we're going to Gettysburg this weekend instead of camping. This works out better for me since camping is a lot of work and I wasn't prepared.

I'm so incredibly glad that today is Friday. I've had a shiit week at work and I just want to sleep and relax this weekend. I'm only working until 11:30 today so I can volunteer at the food pantry downtown. I'm pretty excited about it.
