Apparently I have to give $125 to my casual friend getting married this fall if FI comes with. Or maybe only $110, if I just consider him my boyfriend. And only $75 if I ditch him and go by myself! Even if I remove FI's income and say I'm unemployed it only drops to $115 (going with FI as my spouse). What unemployed couple can afford to bring $115 to every wedding? Not me.

Yeah...I'm a student and FI and I are saving for our own wedding. I am planning on buying an under $50 gift from the registry. She's just going to have to deal with my cheapness I guess. I bet she never speaks to me again after such a slight.

I also deduct points for them spelling Minnesota with two t's.

  • Except for the wacky re gifts, that thread bummed me out. I can't believe the girl who was confused about what to do with "only" $20. Apparently she missed the day in math class where you learn that small amounts of money can add up to a large amount.
I'm just a bit surprised by what comes across as ungratefulness! I mean, damn, maybe that's all that guest could afford to give, ya know.

I didn't read all the pages of responses, I was bored by the end of the first page. I just can't imagine being so greedy and ungrateful for anything our guests will give us...that's not why we are inviting our guests.

Ok-posting one more time and then I'm done.

It was a long post so I'm not sure if you read the entire thing. So a recap on why I was pissed (and I'm still not entirely sure as to why I'm defending myself) it was a guest I was told to invite by my mother. I was upset because he and his wife attended, spent the night and had brunch the next day. The point was if you truly can't afford to give anything, totally ok. But if you can treat yourself to 2 days of my wedding festivities, I would appreciate you showing that in a THOUGHTFUL gift...not some silver picture frame that didn't say "Mrs & Mr" or anything wedding-related. SO that being said-it was a post for the girls I enjoy talking with on WW. I have never seen TK forums until this was brought to my attention. I had no idea we were even enemies--til Alycia felt the need to report on what we are doing??

Anywho-have a nice day to all of you-the conversation is long dead and if it's really going to be 2 "sides" then just stay on your own if you don't like us or thing we are brats.

Who the hell wants a frame that says "Mr and Mrs" on it?!  You can only use it for a picture of you instead of ANY.PICTURE.EVER.

I'm pretty sure their mods called them out on the thread. They had a new sticky all about bullying the day after all this happened. So they got in trouble. ooops...

After 6 years and 2 boys, finally tying the knot on October 27th, 2013!
