Anyone around? 

I should be at the Devils game tonight but I just really didn't feel like going. I decorated my apartment for Christmas and cooked a yummy dinner and then sent H off to the game to meet up with his friends. 

Now I'm watching season 9 of Grey's and snuggling with my kitters.

    I'm still sick (although I think I'm finally starting to recover), so I'm home resting. My partner is playing A Link to the Past, and my bird is just fluttering around trying to get our attention. I may nap.

    Hi @phira! I'm glad you're starting to feel a little better. 

    I've never had a bird but my aunt had an African Grey Parrot that I really bonded with when I lived there for a few months. They ended up getting rid of her (him?) and I was sad :(

    This is the first night in a long while that I have been able to just sit and watch TV. It looks like XFactor is on. Exciting stuff.

    BF volunteers at the archery range every Wednesday he isn't working so I'm cuddling little kitten and drinking tea. I should be doing dishes and packing for our trip tomorrow but I'm exhausted, the beast decided that sleeping is lame so I've been up with him a lot the past few nights. I just want a full night of sleep and for the weather to be so bad that we can't go on our trip tomorrow.

    @Peaseblossom55 - What did you have for dinner tonight? I can't wait to get our tree! I wanted to go last night but H got home from work too late. Hopefully tomorrow. We just get a small one from Home Depot. Small = Bailey can't destroy it too much.

    I had leftover carrots in rosemary I roasted some zucchini and had a veggie chicken patty.  I was lazy I hit a lot of traffic on the way home and did grocery shopping.
    We put up the tree in the living we are debating whether to put the ornaments on to see if the cats will destroy them or not.

    I'm around for a bit. BF is out in the garage playing with his carpentry toys and I don't really feel like watching TV at the moment. We're going to get our tree on Saturday hopefully. I'm jealous of you guys who are getting your trees this week. I still don't feel Christmasy yet.

    @TwoDimes I also feel pretty blah. I made myself a bagel sandwich. Didn't feel like actually cooking anything or asking BF to cook me anything either. I'm lazy and hungry all at once. :)

    @500days - I made roasted chicken and mashed potatoes and then kale 2 ways. I tried kale chips again (they burned, again) and then I followed THIS recipe that @jaydee4219 posted earlier except with walnuts and dried cranberries. The dried cranberries were my favorite part but H didn't care for them much. 

    @QuiltingNurse - Where are you guys going on a trip to?

    @TwoDimes - I've been fending off a headache for a lot of today too. I think that's part of the reason I decided to stay home on my couch tonight. 


    @lmhollister - I don't really feel Christmasy yet either. It's going to be 60 here tomorrow which is odd. I'm hoping the tree will help.

    The archery club is great! He helps teach the new comers how to shoot properly, helps tune bows, can really help with anything. They have an indoor and outdoor range + a moving target course during the summer. I don't get to go on Wednesdays because the baby goes to bed early and we have no sitter, but I do try to get out there with him as much as possible. My poor bows must be feeling neglected since it's been awhile since I got to shoot them. I don't hunt like he does, but target shooting is fun for me.

    @Swazzle It's warm here too. Super humid and wet and just ugh. I'm glad it isn't as cold as last week though...20s plus wind chill was just not ok. I'd rather it be crisp and cool and sunny. I've started buying some gifts and I got a couple new decorations. I'm just hoping setting up our tree and attending a Christmas party on Saturday helps get me into the spirit.

    Also...I think it's time for a glass of vino. Wine and a bagel sandwich...perfect! Work was giving me heartburn today and now I just want to be a bum for the rest of the week.

    @Swazzle We're doing an 8hr road trip to Winnipeg for the weekend. The weather is bad and I haven't been feeling well so I'd prefer to stay home.

    @TwoDimes I think kale has a...I guess you'd call it firmer texture than spinach does and a different sort of flavor. I like it just as much though and it's just as healthy for you!

    @lmhollister - I'm just about done my shopping. I have to finish H and my grandmom and then I'm done. I was considering wrapping everything but I absolutely hate wrapping so I'll more than likely put it off until Christmas Eve Day. 

    @TwoDimes - Hmm no I don't think it's really like spinach. I mean, it's a leafy green but it's kind of thicker and has a stronger taste IMO.

    What's good, ladies? I just got home from the best staff meeting ever. We all brought tasty food, sang holiday carols, and surprised one of our co-workers with a basket of gifts for her family and an Amex giftcard. Her husband has been very sick and they've just had a rough year, so everybody pitched in to make their holidays a little sweeter this year. I love my job and my co-workers so frickin' much. Now I am chillin' at home with the pup. We practiced some basic commands today. She's got "sit" and "come" down, lol.

    I am pleased to say that I passed my med-surg exam today! (By the skin of my teeth, but shhhhhh. ;) So I am taking this evening to just relax and will start studying in earnest for finals tomorrow.

    @Swazzle Oh man wrapping is my favorite! I always pick up tons of extra bows and bells and other stuff every year when it all goes on sale to attach to my presents after they are wrapped. I used to seriously suck at wrapping but I'm getting better with practice.

    I still have the following to finish buying for - my BFF, BF's parents (ordered them a picture from the wedding and I'm putting it in the frame), BF's sisters, BF's niece and nephew (I bought them both an outfit, BF gets the fun job of picking out toys or coloring books or something fun), my youngest sister, my dad, BF. I think I've decided what I want to get for everyone except for my youngest sister and BF's youngest sister.

    @swazzle, there was baked ham, Chesapeake chicken (? I think that's what she called it), a few different kinds of meatballs, greens, fresh fruit and veggies, Texan chip dip, pizza chip dip, peanut butter bars, cupcakes, no-bake cookies, and so much more. I had a couple of plates plus dessert (FREE FOOD, GUYS, don't judge me!) and I didn't get to try everything. We are some good cookin' people.

    @amapola14 that was awesome what your coworkers did. Also good job passing med/surg. Is that a tough section? When a friend from college was in nursing school she had a hard time with med/surg too.
