"OMG can't you hold it in for 20 mins?"

I had mentioned in the PPD thread a while ago that I had agreed to be in two weddings this summer, one of which I found out was a PPD. Well, last night I had a talk with the "bride" about the BM dress she had selected. It was going to cost over $400 between the dress and insane alterations that would have to be done to fit me at 9 months pregnant. The seamstress had pretty much told me that it could work, but would still look silly.

I was kind of hoping she would do what my other friend is doing: allow me to wear a very similar dress with either an empire waist or maternity option. Nope! She instead responded with, "OMG, can't you just hold it in for 20 mins??" No. I can't. It's not air that is making me larger, it's a BABY. I was going to just drop out right then and there, but she went ahead and kicked me out.

Sorry, I know this wasn't a question, I'm just super annoyed right now and wanted to vent.

Right? My favorite part was right before she hung up on me, when she said, "okay well if you don't care enough to make my day special, I have plenty of other friends that happily will!" So she's going to replace me.

"Well, I'm sorry I'm creating another life." You should have told her you would hold it in and then pretended to go into labor during their vows. It would have made the day "special" alright. I think it would be the only way to actually take attention away from the couple.

Clearly only one of these women is an actual friend..

The inability to look beyond one's self is frankly flabbergasting to me. During a "friend's" engagement, my daughter suffered a miscarriage. The friend actually told her that perhaps it would be best to put "that stuff" on hold now until after her wedding. Against her better judgment, my daughter actually took the high road on that comment. My daughter was eventually kicked out of that wedding as well anyway. The story, and comments from this bridezilla, are almost too unconscionable to post.

You will feel a new energy without that toxicity in your life.

@mobkaz I am so sorry for your daughter's (and your) loss. That's such an awful thing to go through, and to be tormented by her "friend" like that is unimaginable.

As for my other, true friend, we've been friends for 20 years for a reason. She's amazing and I love her to pieces. When she realized the dress she chose would cost a ton in alterations, she told me not to consider it before I even had to ask.

I don't understand what is wrong with people. My FSIL is a bridesmaid and is trying to get pregnant- I would be thrilled for her if she's pregnant at my wedding, we'd figure out a dress that works (even if it's different from the others!)

One of my BM's was 8 months pregnant for my OOT wedding. I asked her to buy a dress in the same color as the other BM's. I have no idea the cost of the dress. Not only that, I never even saw dress, not even a picture of it until the wedding day. (I lived a plane ride away from her).

And just because I'm so awesome, I told her to make a "game day decision" on whether she was going to walk down the aisle and stand with the other BMs or just sit in the front row with my parents. She stood with the other girls but it was completely her choice and she could change her mind while walking down if she choose.

Oh and if she was a little high risk, so if her doctor didn't approve her to drive the 3 hours I was going to send her bouquet to her house along with he gift.
