@blue&white - You're so right! I know I would have felt very different in this situation if it had been even 6 months-1 year ago...but luckily right now we'd be ready. It was funny reading though some of the blogs. The word abbreviations and phrases were hysterical.

<VENT> I had wrote my Disney Planner and asked how I was looking for the calendar since tomorrow is the day I find out if I get my date/time for my desired Wedding location - there are 2 other brides that put in for the same date/time location so now we enter lottery to figure out who gets it.  SO frustrating, I was the first one scheduled on that date/time - had another bride already had it, I would have picked something else.  </VENT>

@Blue & White I can guarantee that there is NO SNOW in October in Georgia. :) Or at least I think so anyway...after this winter we've had I'm not so sure anymore.

my hair is in a low bun today, and I have a bobby pin stabbing me in the head.  I can't wait to take my hair down tonight!!

I'm supposed to be working on a document that details all my contributions, accomplishments, and impacts in the past few years.  I need to get it to my boss tomorrow, so she can submit it to justify giving me an H (aka a promotion and tiny raise).  but OMG I am just not motivated to do this!  it's horrible, because I really want it but I'm struggling to get it done.  I'm having to go through tons of old papers and emails over the past 5 years to detail everything substantial I've worked on.  and it's a ton of stuff.

@lmhollister count me in, then!  I mean, it's a long drive but it's WORTH IT.  Plusalso my BFF got married the same weekend as you but in 2013 :) so it's a good weekend.

@Dignity100 That's so annoying! :( It doesn't seem right that they didn't just give the date/time/location you requested to you since you were the first one to request it. I hope the lottery works in your favor tomorrow!

Totally worth it. The menu we worked out with our caterer is SOOOOOOO yummy. You may also want to crash the RD since we're catering yummy yummy bbq and playing corn hole and ladder golf and other awesome games.

@audrewuh - You are so sweet. I will definitly let everyone here know! H and I could definitly use some good news. H had actually said "that was baby-making love" after the last time we got it on...so who knows, maybe he was right!

    @allusive007 - "baby-making love"...  I LOVE IT!  haha  :)

@cocobellaf, I get that way about SOOOO many projects. When I had to put together my argument for my raise back in October, during all the fucked up drama, I didn't even want to try.

H is up for two jobs right now. He will more than likely get at least one of them. Crossed fingers, vibes, thoughts, and job-dances are appreciated.

@allusive007 heeeeeeeeeeeeell yea baby making love!! Gah, I'm anxious for you!

@lmhollister, when is your wedding again?

One last mention.... @dignity100, explain to me your disney wedding thing again? I missed something somewhere. Are you doing it AT Disney?

@audrewuh - Yes - we are getting married at Disney World.  The way it works is they have 3 tier packages:  Wishes, Escape and Memories.  Wishes brides can 'pencil in' at 16 months; Escape brides can 'pencil in' at 9 months; Memories can 'pencil in' at 5 months.  I'm going to be an Escape bride so I can give you the most info there.  So at 9 months, I called in penciled in and then exactly 8 months prior to the requested date they look at the calendar and figure out if you got it or not - for me a Wishes bride could have swiped it away from me or other Escape brides can request the same date/location/time and then we are entered into the lottery (Weekends/Holidays are not allowed).  So in my case I penciled in and 2 other couples also want the same date/time/location so they will draw a name on who gets it.  It's kind of confusing, so I hope I'm explaining it right.

As far as Disney World goes - for the size wedding I'm looking at there are 5 locations (Wedding Pavilion, Sea Breeze Point, Yacht Club, Sunrise Point (I think), Epcot Canada).  They hold weddings at Canada at 9AM, Sunrise point at 10AM and then the others they have a 10AM, 12 Noon, 2:30PM, and 5PM.  I AM hoping for 10/14/14  2:30pm @ Sea Breeze Point.

There's a TON of rules and such - but I'm really looking forward to being a Disney Bride and I just want to get my date (or at least that week) as it works better for my family and FI's family.

@Imhollister - that was the original date I wanted!!  It's Sweetest day (which I know is a small money making holiday only celebrated by like 5 states)!

@lmhollister I would LOVE to crash your rehearsal too, but I'm hoping to have a teaching job then.  Can you like...box me up some food?  I should be able to get up there by um...4 PM + 7 hours of driving...11 PM!  I wonder what FI would think about crashing a wedding of a person he's never met...hmmmm.

@dignity100 I'm really glad I'm not a Disney bride just because of your awful lottery situation.  My brother's getting married in Orlando (not at Disney) if you need a venue recommendation/idea if Disney doesn't work out :/  What happens if it doesn't work out?  Do you get another day or...?

@peaseblossom55 our venue coordinator mentioned how they always prepare 5% overage for food...and my FI was offended that someone would think of crashing our wedding, lol.  Little does he know that you're planning it ;)

@peaseblossom55 - I believe Sweetest Day was created by American Greetings (an Ohio company) and it's TOTALLY just a $$ making scheme that's a V-Day rip off.

@Blue I have backup dates/times defined.  But my backup days aren't the best days I found out.  So now I need to probably call my Disney planner and say 'Oh Crap - sorry to be THAT Bride, but can you put me in for these dates/times as well - I'm totally sold on Sea Breeze Point'.

It's bizarre. Here's the Wikipedia article. I know, I know, Wikipedia..BUT I seriously had NO CLUE that this was even a thing until FI's mom was all "Oh that's so nice, you're getting married on Sweetest Day! You should do a candy theme! Etc Etc" And I was like "wtf the fuck is Sweetest Day?".

@TwoDimes I guess it depends on how you want to look at it. The purpose is for the woman to shower her SO with sweets and gifts. So it's about your "sweetie" sure, but you're supposed to also give them "sweet" treats in the spirit of the holiday. Of course...the day was invented by candy companies soooo...take it how you want.

Ok, so I just assumed the "Sweetest" in Sweetest Day referred to your "sweetie" like BF/GF/spouse/SO, but it actually refers to the candy itself??

    I learn something new everyday.

Ah stuck in the damn box!!
I learned something new today too!

@dignity100 that sounds like a crazy headache. I thought it was bad for us. The chapel where we wanted to get married was first come first serve and only booked 12 months out. So H was at the office on a Sunday morning, April 1st, half an hour before they opened. Another guy showed up right at 8:30 booking the same day and time. We beat him because H was there first. Crazy town.

I've found that people do Disney weddings for a reason. I'm curious to hear your story.

And, Sweetest Day? Go home, commercialism, you're drunk.

@audrewuh - The reason I want a Disney wedding:  My mom has social anxiety - big time, so I wanted a small wedding because I don't want to put her in an uncomfortable situation.  Also - FI & I do not like being the center of attention, so we agreed 'small wedding'!  FI is Italian and if we had our wedding within 2-4hours driving distance we figured we were looking at a 'My Big Fat Italian Wedding' because his mom would insist 'Aunts&Uncles & 1st cousins' which would then grow (in her mind a SMALL wedding is 125 people).  So we decided 'Destination' - his parents have a time share thing in FL so we decided to piggy back off that as to not inconvenience them (FI's mom will not fly and she also won't go on a cruise).  Disney just seemed like the perfect setting to get everybody (including me) what they wanted and then I started researching and I'm just SUPER excited to have a Disney wedding!

So my story is a little different than most - I do love Disney but I've been there twice for a total of 11 days (6 the first time and 5 the second).

@Buddysmom80 - When are you starting 30DS? I've been prepping myself to start it again by waking up earlier in the mornings. I'd love to start it at the same time!

@Swazzle - yes please! I hate being borderline broke all the time lol but we are making strides. If I have unexpected income anytime soon though, I'm totally coming up to NJ. I haven't been back since last year when I saw your face! Do you think @csousa1 would come visit too?

    HELL YES I AM THERE!!
