@bethsmiles Exactly! Cops are there to enforce the law, and they'll look for any way to do that. It's easy to forget that though. I've learned the hard way a few times that even making polite conversation with cops after they pull you over can lead to more fines.
I just finished the Husband's Secret and I really enjoyed it. I started the Goldfinch yesterday. So far, it's okay. It is soooo long though, so it better be a good book! I noticed that people either love or hate that book.
Y'all I can't even talk about the Amanda Knox case. I grew up really interested in forensic science and murder cases, and that case has been BEYOND bungled

Very true. The forensic science in that case is so fucked up.
Goldfinch is pretty long. I think I got through about 500 pages before I put it down. I stopped caring about what happened to the protagonist, and I kept finding excuses not to finish the book. I just threw in the towel and sold it to Half Price Books. Some people absolutely adore it though, and I heard the author won the Pulitzer for it.
Oooh I was going to read Goldfinch for TK bookclub.. :-/
I really enjoyed Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, so I purchased Sharp Objects and Dark Places, Sharp Objects was really good and weird... I just started Dark Places!
I've been really into this random book series I came across when looking for murder porn, (i.e. Investigation Discovery type books) It's by John Locke and it's the Donovan Creed series. It's super easy reading and you don't feel any more intelligent for reading them but it might be a good quick book for a plane ride or a day spent lounging around! I think the books are about $2.99 on Amazon

Are you my soul mate?
SITB:
@Phira, I know this is incredibly weird, but I was basically going to stake claim to you as my bestie yesterday on account of our club thumbs
Me Before You by JoJo Moyes is one of my favorite books of all time, so there's that.
I just finished The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, and it was excellent.
Both of the above are fairly light-hearted and romantic (although Me Before You does have a sad element to it as well).
I also highly recommend anything by Chevy Stevens if you like suspense and mystery. I have absolutely loved all three of her books and her fourth one just came out.

Re: Book Suggestions
@BreMR I just downloaded Dark Places last night can't wait to start reading it which probably won't be until the honeymoon though...
