Re: Tuesday Chatter

  • @Weewittlewizabeth Thank you! When FMIL sent me that pic it looked like I had a veil on and I was so confused until I realized it was the bag the dress was in.

I think TK just ate my whole post!!! ERRRR!!!! @severmilli12 - I was going to basically say that the bagged dress behind you looks like a veil as well. I think it looks good with or without. @cu97tiger - sounds almost exactly like Loki and his separation. I've been through 3 crates that Loki destroyed, he's broken every tooth in his mouth (thankfully I haven't had to remove any). I've tried Through A Dog's Ear, Rescue Remedy and for a time after my other dog passed he was on Valium (I hated him on meds though). Through A Dog's Ear probably helped the best. <<EDIT>> Oh really TK - you took all paragraphs away from me too??

  • @bethsmiles well thanks :) FI told me I should make sashes and sell them lol. For the flowers and the ribbon to make that sash, I think I paid $12. Way cheaper than the $70 DB was wanting for the one I tried on with my dress.
I love this idea, and I will be your first customer if you decide to start :)

  • Happy Tuesday!!

Sad I don't get to watch the game with @Swazzle tonight :-( I told FI that he could make plans with friends or CW to watch the game, but he feels bad that I'll be stuck at home doing nothing while he's out without me (again). It's annoying because although my office is only about a 30 minute drive from midtown Manhattan, with traffic it could take me up to two hours. If I drive home first to let the dog out, and then take the train in to meet up with him, the game will be almost over and it feels silly to just go into the city to go out and spend money unnecessarily on a Tuesday night. Blegh.  He offered to just come home after work, but that would mean he'll miss the second half of the game, so I don't want to ask him to do that. Times like this I really wish I still worked in Manhattan.

As for WR stuff, we're slowly getting more stuff done. We blocked rooms at a hotel nearby, and I should be getting a quote for staff and hor d'oeuvres after the weekend. FI is in charge of finding a DJ, and I'm trying to be as hands-off as possible about it!

@severmilli12 - I only wore mine for pictures and the ceremony. I can send you pictures of mine if you're interested, I'd be happy to lend it to you if you don't want to buy one just to wear for a little bit :)
Oh heeeyyyy Rach... there's something I might want to ask you sometime soon.

Oh whatever, I don't need to be coy. Just plz send over your entire wedding-day outfit, including all underthings, nail polish worn, did you wear fake lashes? I'll take those too. We should just cut to the chase, right?

EVEN MY UNDEROOS?! You just reminded me that I have to check out my lantern situation for you, right?

    ME FIRST!!

Although, I'm not sure that we'll be able to afford tables to put the lanterns ON, so... maybe you should just give them to her. Sigh.

I'll bring my own TV table to eat on.

  • Now if y'all were smart, YEARS AGO you would have bought tables, chiavari chairs, china, silverware, glasses, etc. You would have recruited a few dozen NEY'ers to divide the cost of it all. Then for the price of a u-haul, all participants could pick up everything they need when it's time for their wedding. As new people want to jump on that bandwagon, they would have to pay an inflated fee (but still cheaper than renting everything), and that fee would be dividing among all original participants. DONE.

Okay, just pretend for a second this would work IRL.
It's like a traveling wedding! Each time someone gets married we just pick up the wedding and move it to their location.

I like this idea. I'm pretty sure D and I won't be able to afford much of a wedding when the time comes, unless we save for 5 years. DARN YOU, LIFE! And darn you work for not valuing me more to give me appropriate raises. And darn you economic downturn that froze raises for so many years.
