Fair warning - he looks like he's got several traits that Russian Blue cats have. They're a fairly rare breed, solid blue-grey, with ringed tails. Were his paw pads a really dark almost-purple? If so, you may have motive for a catnapping. They can be pretty expensive, and an unaltered male kitten would be incredibly tempting.

Sounds like things are moving in the right direction.

I was going to suggest calling from a different number and inquiring about adopting a pet to see if someone would call you back to talk to you or the owner.

I'm going to keep this name in mind. I live on the MN/WI border and possibly would have looked at adopting from this group when we are ready.

He looks just like my kitty too! He sends best wishes that is counterpart in Minnesota is quickly recovered. I also agree about Russian Blue-like cats being valuable--ours is a mutt and was picked up at a shelter, but he is priceless. :-)

This is breking my heart! I don't understand how someone can knowingly keep someone else's pet like that! My pup is my baby. I can't imagine if something like this happened to her! You are doing the right thing.

My baby was a rescue mutt too. He was the absolute sweetest cat I've ever owned. Also the whiniest, haha. I hope the owner gets her baby back soon.

Same here! My dogs are like my children. If I knew someone had one of them and wouldn't give them back, I would turn into Liam Neeson and re-enact Taken, but even more raged out.

All my love to Dexter and his owner!!! How dare people think they can take someone's pet? FI and I are long distance, and I have NO IDEA what I would do without my pup. Just the thought of someone stealing her (she's a pit mix, which often get stolen in my area and sold to dog fighters) is too much.

I hope you help bag the assholes who think it's okay to take someone's pet away from them.

I can't imagine what you or Dexter's owners are feeling currently, T&Ps for all of you guys. I couldn't imagine if one of my dogs escaped and something like this happened.

Well her place of business is her home, because she's a self-employed cleaning lady.

I called the local humane society investigative team and left and message. Now I'm going to call the city government and then go to lunch.
