Ok so I thought this would be a fun topic. My fiance and I know we want children and have decided to probably start to try to have a baby reasonably soon after we are married. I kind of find myself getting "baby fever".lol I am excited about my wedding and all into planning and enjoying the moment but hope I don't have to wait to long after to start thinking about having a baby, "like within the first year of marriage". Well anyways, the popular TV show 19 Kids and Counting Star Jill Duggar and new hubby Derek Dillard announced their pregnancy like weeks after her wedding "I think it was around 9 weeks after". Which has caused a media frenzy! So my question is, do you think their is a stereotype of society expectation of when to get pregnant after your married? How to soon is too soon? Do brides who have those honeymoon babies get a bad reputation when they didn't do the current trend of taking the time to just be married couple? We plan to do whatever we want and don't care what people think but I thought this could be an interesting discussion.:)
Re: The baby question.....
You're damned if you and you're damned if you don't when you pay attention to what other people think.
I think some of those same people who are critical of "honeymoon babies" have absolutely no issue with unmarried parents.
I got asked about babies by 6 different people at our wedding. Not sure what to make of it...
I think it is entirely about what's right for the couple. I hate the comments.
I'm the fuck out.
Regarding God and babies: I believe in God. I believe God answers prayers. I also believe that sometimes His answer is "no."
I'm the fuck out.
I'll make sure to mention to my friend who's had four miscarriages and who is done trying to have kids that the magic sky wizard just didn't consider those babies special enough.
And I'm pretty sure we use the evil dark magic of hormonal and barrier birth control to thwart "special plans" for us...
I'm the fuck out.
Yup.
Just curious bc FI wants to start trying soon and I want to stop the Nuvaring at some point before but not sure when. I don't want to actually try until after the wedding, but don't want to stay on it until then either. As you can see, mine is the end of June.
I'm the fuck out.
