Can you name all the states?

Re: Can you name all the states?

  • Welp, guess I'll be trying to place states with 100% accuracy now.  There goes my weekend.

I got 98%/2% error the first time.  I would also like to brag on myself for getting Colorado as the first state and getting it exactly right!

Delaware is easy.  It's on the coast.

Okay, maybe not. I'm from there so I have an advantage.   :-p
I haven't been on the East Coast all that much. I knew it was on the coast, just not sure where exactly it was on the East Coast.

I'm having Carmen SanDiego flash backs...I wanted to smother the kids who lost on the US map. Seriously, you lost a free roundtrip airfare bc you don't know where West Virginia is??? How did you even get on the show??

ETA 92% and avg error of 26 miles, starting with Colorado...seriously, place the ambiguous square...

This just reminded me that I'm going to be able to have game nights at my new place very soon, and I can bust this back out: http://www.amazon.com/Where-Carmen-Sandiego-Board-Game/dp/B00004YO0H

    SO EXCITED.

  • I posted this on my Facebook page earlier today. It was worth a good chuckle.

I recently did a test on jetpunk.com where you have to name all of the countries in the world in 12 minutes (I believe it's 12- work blocked the link.) I named them all with 2 minutes to spare! The worst area for me was Africa.

I was surprised at how bad I did.  There are names of countries on there that I swear I've never even heard of before.

When I moved to Texas as a kid I was asked where we were from.  I answered "Delaware".  I can't tell you how many times people would say "What state is that in?"
@lyndausvi‌ I moved from NY to DE and people ask me that a lot. It's kind of weird that people don't realize this entire state exists.
I went completely out of my way specifically to drive through DE last time I took a big road trip. I really wanted to eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise, since they closed ours years ago, and DE still has one. Their CIP cocktail is so delicious and they make a little fruit bird on the side of the glass. I'm a sucker for the fruit birds. BEHOLD, happy hour at 10am:

Have you ever seen someone so happy to be eating at a Caribbean-themed chain restaurant in DE?

I also bought an awesome purse because no sales tax. And a ton of shit from Lush.

All in all, I love DE.

Glad you like DE.  No sales-tax is the bomb.

I've never been to CIP.  Where was it located in DE?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Delaware is like Maryland's little sidekick!

I do like no sales tax. They actually closed the Cheeseburger in Paradise, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news! It's now a Fuddruckers. If you're ever near that area again I can tell you some good restaurants to check out, though!
