Monday already :(

Friday BF and I tried to go out to a nice dinner at a hibachi place near us, however the line just to get our name on the list was over 10 minutes long! We ended up at my favorite Mexican place instead.

Saturday he worked on one of his architecture competitions all day, and I worked and swam in a swim meet in the evening. That was lots of fun, especially since the kids timing "us old folks" were all kids I'd either babysat or coached at one point. It's a really small town.

Sunday I got all my household stuff done, and then my best friend called me and SHE GOT ENGAGED! I'm super excited for them, and excited for them to start planning.

@eilis1228 - I like Hardcore on the Floor better than Core. It's harder but it's more fun. I don't like side planks, either. Drench isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I was also trying to learn the flows and movements so this next time (tomorrow) might be harder.

LOL. Kids crack me up. I wish DH would chaperone dances. I feel like he chaperoned one last year or the year before and he said that they were all super awkward haha.

@eilis1228 - There's potential that a position could open up that I might enjoy here but it's not necessarily a good enough possibility that waiting for that possibility makes me feel any better. And I do miss teaching - not community college, but my university students. But to teach at a university I would need to get my PhD and before I do that I really need to figure out where BF and I will be for his PhD program and of course finish my stupid thesis.

I'm thinking about applying to teach some online courses.

@bethsmiles That’s frustrating about your thesis. Are you in a Master’s program or a Ph.D. program?

Well this is my first Monday post about the weekend J

Friday I feel asleep at 8:00, before my 1 year old. Luckily BF put her to sleep before going to check on his LAN Center. (He owns a business along with his 9-5 job)

Saturday I got my hair done in the morning and then volunteered for an event with my Junior League from 4:00-8:30. I am starting to come down with something, so I was in bed by 10.

Sunday BF and I took our daughter to brunch with friends. Then we went to a park along the beach. It was beautiful weather, warmer with little wind, which is a nice change. It’s been chilly and windy here for a while now. DD loves the water regardless of the frigid artic temperatures. So it was a constant battle of chasing her and keeping her from nose diving into the ocean.

The weekend went way to fast, I’m looking forward to next weekend being a 3 day weekend!

@bethsmiles That's definitely a tough call. I hope you're able to find an online teaching position or two--that may help you feel better about your current job. I hope your adviser gets back to you quickly about your thesis, and I hope you and BF are able to figure out his grad school options soon. Having to deal with the unknown like that is so stressful.

Thanks, @keptinstitches and @labro. My brother was really broken up about it when he called me. I know how excited he was to be a dad. And my poor FSIL ... like, it's hard enough to go through this, but it's late enough in the pregnancy that there are a lot of physical reminders of what happened.

They're going to keep trying, but it's just so awful.

@BeachMommy2B - I'm in a master's program. I'm finished with all my coursework already though, thank god! I just have to finish this last thing

@eilis1228- Thanks! My advisor finally e-mailed me back today and has actually gotten some important things done which is shocking to me but it makes me feel a lot less stressed out!

Saturday morning I emailed back and forth with a bunch of vendors. Still waiting to hear back from our preferred venue and caterer. They had open availability when I talked to them last weekend so of course now that I've gotten confirmation from our family and 2 of our preferred photographers in our price range I'm super antsy to get a copy of the contract and put down deposits.

I also found that wedding dress I showed you guys last week on ebay for less than the other website, so I'm anxiously awaiting replies to my questions.

Saturday evening we went and hung out with FI's grandma. We hung out and helped her finish the puzzle she was working on. Sunday was pretty lazy.

Thursday night I went to Kohl's and tried on that navy blue dress on that I posted in last week's Thursday thread, and it looked terrible on me. There was too much fabric around the waist. I went shopping again Friday night and finally found a beautiful coral dress, and a cute pair of relatively low wedges to wear for our E-pics. After shopping, I had to work until midnight on Friday, then at 9 am on Saturday, and Saturday night after our E-pics and dinner out, and again Sunday. So, I worked about 20 hours this past weekend alone. That was not fun, and I don't feel like I got much of a weekend.

Anyways, our e-pics were a lot of fun, and I already got proofs back today! Once we pick the ones that we want retouched and I get the final ones back, I will AW them. There are definitely some awkward ones of FI and I in there, but we were on cliffs by the ocean and had to stand in odd positions to not fall off!

Today was very busy at work again, and probably will be all week. I cannot wait for the upcoming 3 day weekend!

ETA: There is one pic of us on a cliff where the wind caught my skirt and I think you can see a tiny portion of my underwear! I burst out laughing when I saw that one, and it is definitely not making the final cut!

@aurorarose41 hahaha I have vacation photos like that. I was wearing a skirt over my bathing suit and the guys decided we should do a cliff walk. So all of the pictures we took I'm either holding down my skirt or it is blowing all over the place.
