I saw a comment somewhere on an article that the bodies that fell on the truck when they were leaving had a W carved on them. But I am at work so I haven't been able to rewatch that scene to confirm it or not. I assumed wolves meant literal wolves. H had thought maybe the people that lived there used bodies as bait to keep the wolves around to keep the walkers away, but then we saw the torsos and heads in that truck and didn't know what to think. More weird shit is going on as usual I guess I was also glad they are finally away from the same area. It will be nice to see them in new places and not just a short drive away from multiple locations they've already visited. Although I wonder if we'll see Morgan again since they are now hundreds of miles away from Terminus.
There was something carved into the head of one of the half bodies.  It could have been a W.  I didn't really pay all that much attention, but remembered thinking someone carved a symbol into someone's head (not just a letter).  Maybe a W with lines above and below it?

  • Here's what I don't understand: Why haven't they figured out yet that they'd be safe if they were elevated? Like, live in a fucking tree house or something. Zombies can't climb. They keep trying to live in a place with walls around it and it never works out. Go UP!

I've been so annoyed with this that I've actually thought it out. Find a tall(ish) building, clear it, brick up all the doors and windows on the bottom floor, destroy the bottom set of stairs, have rope ladders, a pulley system to bring up supplies, and live on all the upper floors, grow a roof-top garden, collect rain water, boom. Done. Safe.

They've done some really ingenious stuff, plus (pretending this is real) they're the ones living in the situation every day so they're the ones in desperate need of solving the problem of safety, so why have they not figured anything out yet? (I mean obviously because then there would be no story line, no one wants to watch a zombie show of happy people in their safe happy little home, but still)

    O.O

Can I just make this fort for the shit of it?
I've been reinforcing the old tree house in my parents' backyard. When the zombies break out, you guys are invited.

  • I actually really liked it. There was something about the last season that I couldn't quite put my finger on that seemed forced and kind of boring, and I feel like this episode departed from that. There was a lot of symbolism in here, with the clocks and broken glass, often with reflections, and I missed that from earlier episodes.

I thought it started out a little slow but I really liked how they did the hallucinations and stuff that Tyreese was having. I've heard from nurses that a lot of people see passed loved ones right before they die so...

I was kind of mad that the governor was there though, just to be a dick, but it was cool how he turned into a zombie. Kind of surprised that Karen wasn't there, although she did die a long time ago.

A lot of them do see people they love pass. I work in hospice so I agree with your nurses.

It was just too much. Like 5 minutes max is all we needed of that.

  • We don't have cable and I missed it on AMC live on Sunday so finally watched it last night.

    SO DISAPPOINTING.

They teased the heck out of this episode like it was going to be some kind of amazing. I got up to do the dishes at one point because I was so disinterested.

At the end I was just like ok... the mid season premiere... 45 minutes of show... and really all that happened was Tyreese died. Great.

Ugh. I hope next week is better.

emmaaa  I totally saw the arm chop coming after the gov turned into a zombie. I'm proud of not screaming like a little girl during that. Was cool though.
As soon as he was bit I yelled, "Chop you arm off!" like he could do it himself? I knew they would chop his arm off, I just didn't expect it at that exact moment. I am jumpy anyways.
I did exactly the same thing. But by the time they got there and chopped it off, I feel like it was too late anyway. The infected blood would have circulated all over his body by then.
Yep, I did that too... Not that he had a knife (or the strength) to do it.

Honestly, up until they pulled him out of the car, I thought he would survive, if for no other reason than they killed Beth off in the last episode. I thought we would be safe for at least ONE episode, but noooo. RIP Tyrese.

All the moral compasses die on that show; Dale, Hershal, Beth, Tyrese... If you're a good person, you are so dead.

I apologize for re-bumping this but I wanted to bring up another point. Why are we (the fans as a whole) ignoring the fact that these people are driving around in cars like gas doesn't go bad after a few months? There is no way those cars would still be running 2 years into this. Did I miss something? Have we covered this already?

ETA: and WTF is wrong with my avatar picture thing?

Me neither. I asked if there was a way to store it so it doesn't go bad, he doesn't know that either. Lol

They're siphoning it all out of other cars, so I'm sure if there is a way, that's not it. :-p

Because Hollywood doesn't do its research what's new

Also: zombies can't exist the way they do in WD. So if you can pretend long enough for zombies you can pretend the gas is good

UGH, ME TOO! Like, they know that it works, so why the fuck wouldn't they?!

What do you mean? I've been thinking that some of them would starve at some point, or that their brains would decompose and that would end their functionality, but is there more to this?

Just off the top of my head

They don't completely decompose. They have no immune system to keep off the bacteria that would disintegrate them, and yet they can keep walking 2+ years after the outbreak.

The fact the outbreak even happened with these slow ass easy to kill zombies is just LOL

Let's say they use the creatures they eat for energy. Anything that moves has to have energy. Kinetic or potential. The zombies are horrible hunters. The only thing they have going for them is that people aren't always 100% paying attention and that they don't feel pain or fatigue. Which comes right back to food. How are they eating enough to keep moving? There are hardly any people left to eat, so the millions of zombies aren't eating regularly. Animals are too good at not getting caught.

And how the hell are the characters in the WD universe always getting snuck up on? The zombies are so fucking loud. Horrible hunters can't get enough to eat to support a moving hunting body.

Maybe at first they can do a lot of damage, but after two years these dudes should be all skeletons.

Some zombies are fast and way better at hunting. Some are still alive and are just mindless homicidal turdbrains. Those types of zombies have a better shot.

I was super bummed out that Tyreese died. But yeah, the whole episode was like a malingering UTI.

  • Can I also bitch about the location of bites? When they started over from season 1 and were playing all the re-runs, I watched a few randomly. People get bit on the exact same spot on their forearm all the time (exactly where Tyrese was bit).

Maybe that's a particularly tasty spot for zombies. Maybe that's an easy place for the MUA to put prosthetics and special effects make-up. Maybe it films well. Whatever. They should get more creative with their bite locations.

I feel like Tyrese should have gotten bit on the back of his elbow, considering he was snuck up on from behind. I know this is such a dumb nit-picky thing to be bothered by, but I was so bothered by it.

I feel like they get bit there most often because it is natural instinct ot raise your arm, forearm forward, to protect yourself.

That's what I thought until the Tyrese thing. I might not be remembering it accurately but he didn't really see the zombie kid till it was biting him. If he had enough time to turn and realize what was happening before it bit him, he could have just knocked the kid in the forehead and got away. If not, it should have gotten him on the back of the arm. But that's just me being surly :P

That makes sense. I don't remember exactly how it happened honestly.

Herschel got bit on the leg! And wasn't Bob bitten in the torso?

  • Also I have read the comics up through the 2nd compendium, and there are no spoilers to give because absolutely nothing in the last episode had anything to do with the comics. I wonder if they are going to stop using the story lines from the comics completely. I think it's cool they diverge from each other so much so that both have a lot of twists and turns, but at this point most of the characters in the show either don't exist or are already dead in the comics so...
