OFFICIALLY LOSING IT - PLEASE HELP

Re: OFFICIALLY LOSING IT - PLEASE HELP

  • And the dresses were paid for by me. And the bridal shower food/alcohol is being paid for by my mom and the girls have to do dessert, invitations, games, favors.

What does that even mean? Do they have to make the dessert? Pay for your cake? Create, buy, and mail invitations? Perform games in front of your guests? Pick, purchase, and hand out favors? What the actual fuck.

  • ok, i demanded food, toilet paper, and bedsheets.

But YOU shouldn't have been demanding anything.  The HOSTS should have coordinated this between themselves (the food and toilet paper part) and then told anyone attending that they would need to bring sheets for their beds.

  • ok, i demanded food, toilet paper, and bedsheets.

Yeah, if I were one of the supposed hosts, I would fall into the "she must think we're fucking idiots" category. It would be the hosts' responsibility to get that figured out. You just didn't trust them to do that, so you micromanaged your own party.
  • OK if anyone ever told me a bachelorette party was BYO-toilet paper I would be outta there SO FAST.

Yeah, no fucking thank you. That sounds like some Survivor shit.

I keep looking at this expecting something to jump out of that scary ass outhouse!

  • The emails might sound excessive but they really werent. I didnt want anyone to walk into this not knowing what was needed.

I'm confused, are your bridesmaids preparing for war or a party? Cause if it's a party multiple emails about one simple party or weekend getaway would annoy the crap out of me. I get multiple emails a week from my sorority and I'm ready to block them because it's so annoying. I'm not even in college anymore! I get it, stop nagging.

Oh and just if you're curious. I had a weekend getaway with my boyfriend and some other friends. The extent of our planning was an agreement over text on the location (that took like 2 texts to everyone - short and sweet) and my SO and I stopping by the store to grab beer and some snacks for the weekend. Boom! Done! And it was an AMAZING weekend! No stress, no multiple emails, no nagging.

  • Okay I know this is MUD, but how has no one commented on the "first official bridal party lunch?"

No one commented probably cause that was already a pretty good indication that OP is not as laid back as she'd like everyone to think.

OP, I have a best friend who has to plan everything. She is a planner and very controlling. I absolutely love her to death! Like I would go up to bat for this girl. If she needed me right now, I'd ask my boss for a couple days off and drive down right away to make sure she was okay. She has talked about how she will be an amazing bride because she will help plan everything. She's not engaged or dating anyone yet, but just the thought of that EXHAUSTED me. I love her to death but her idea of "laid back" is very overwhelming. Almost to the point where it is nagging and not necessary. Micromanaging is never a good thing.

Bolded- yes! I am firmly of the opinion that if you have to insist multiple times that you are something, you're probably NOT, not even close to being, that thing that you keep saying you are.

  • after reading everyone's responses, maybe i did jump the gun lol. But im leaving out a lot of history. Everyone is making it seem like we are a really childish bunch but we arent. All the other girls pulled through and had cute surprises planned for me.

This MOH has benn difficult to work with, blowing off whatever responsibilites she has VOLUNATARILY taken. I didn't hear about any of that until this week.

As her MOH a fee months ago, i made sure she had a good time at her shower and that everything was planned just how she wouldve wanted it. The week of her wedding i was her at her side, running last minute errands,

I have been more than patient and understanding but a quick text saying "hey ill be back on friday talk then" would suffice. The majority of the bridal party is my family and im sure she felt like she was being ganged up on which i totally understand. Thats why i wanted to talk to her in person. But her lack of response just concerns me.

I think i need to turn my brain off for the weekend and try to think clearly.

Reading through all of this makes my head spin.  But I think the bolded sums up the entire thread perfectly.  All of this happened while your brain was "on"?  Yes, turn off your brain.  Maybe it'll help.

So now it's 3 days in a cabin in the woods where I gotta bring my own toilet paper? Yep...someone's gonna try to kill me.

You ever seen someone in a horror movie stop to take a shit? No cause when you're running from a killer you don't have time for that.

You know how when someone says "I'm not racist but..." you know they're about to say something super racist?

Same thing when brides say "I'm a super laid back bride, but...", you're not laid back if you have to point it out.

I told my people "wear these things, show up at this place, on this day, at this time, lemme know if you need help or have questions" and then I just hung out with them like usual. I never felt the need to say "I'm a super laid back bride" because my actions said it for me. When one of the girls said she didn't feel comfortable in all black and could I go shopping with her, I did not say "Omg I'm making this so easy for you!!! Why can't you wear a black dress!!! I'm STRESSING" I said "Sure, Saturday work? We'll figure something out, don't sweat". And when they said "What do you want to do for you bach?" I said "Whatever, you know me, I'm easy. Just ya know, lets try to obey the laws of the land" and it was awesome.
    This!

My MOH was MOH for her sister 2 mo after my wedding. And the sister repeatedly said, "I'm such a laid back bride and haven't asked anything, "and yet both my friend and her own mother were looking forward to the wedding being over than the event.

if you have to announce the type of person you are, you're probably not that kind of person.
  • Exactly how many bridal party luncheons were planned?
  • since most of your posts consist of writing "lol" at the end of each paragraph I am going to hazard a guess that you are 14? 15? Do your parents know you're getting married?

The beer is going down easy tonight and I had to stop in and take a gander at this gem.. From the first page of this posting all I could see was the freaking LOL at the end of EVERYTHING! What is even happening!?
