It's really telling that we now have multiple PP's in this thread who know misogynistic sexual predators and think strip clubs are the problem.

But also, the whole "It's so cute how my FI befriended a  porn star and then watched her movies and spanks off to porn twice a day is normal but a lady dancing 6 ft away is NOT" has me scratching my head something really fierce. I just don't get the mindset. Can't follow it.

Nice TL;DR version, but sorry you can't follow. I didn't realize I said the coworkers and friends weren't the ones to blame, good to know. And I didn't realize that I hadn't said yet that strip clubs would be okay if I knew different people, strange, thought I did.

It's cute? When was it cute? Masturbation isn't normal? I'm sorry I'm uncomfortable with having a girl thrust her pussy at my FI's face. It's strange that I'm not comfortable with that.

I'm sorry again that you cannot follow this logic, but it's how I feel. But please, go on and make fun of how I feel.
I wasn't making fun of it, I genuinely DO NOT COMPREHEND IT. Because friending a chick online and then masturbating to her is, to me, WAY more intimate then a random woman who does not want to fuck your FI dancing several feet away with a no-touchey rule. And again, you're saying strip clubs would be okay if you knew other people, but then, like, you don't associate with those people because gross but also strip clubs are still not okay. It makes no sense. You're still absolutely blaming the dancers for the actions of dudes. And the ones you don't blame (porn stars) you think don't count because you don't even see them as people. The mental gymnastics are dizzying, I don't know how you manage it.

But if you want to flounce out, you go right ahead. It's not making fun of you to question how the heck you're doing these mental somersaults.
Oh my lord, I'm not blaming the dancers. I have never blamed the dancers. Not once did I blame the dancer for her profession for doing any of her actions. The guys are creeps and disgusting, some girls are just dirty by nature, not because of her profession. He never actually talked to said porn star, just friended her on MS. Never met her once or talked to her or anything.
Consenting to sex isn't dirty. Consenting to sex with multiple partners isn't dirty. Consent isn't dirty. I don't even understand what that statement means.
Some girls are just..slutty? Is that better? Slutty by choice, not because their picture was taken by a guy and was spread around without her consent?

beethery I've been waiting for you to pop up!
No. Fucking slutty isn't better. Fucking hell.

They're choosing to have sex. That doesn't make them slutty, or dirty, or a whore, or anything else. It just makes them choosing to have sex.

I don't care how many fucking guys or women they fuck. You don't fucking call them dirty and slutty for fucking around. Fucking hell. It always amazes when I meet a woman who can hate other women so much.
Shameshameshame. Sorry ladies, my bad. I don't know what to call the guy besides creep, so slut came into play. So much swearing, sorry I'm causing so much anger. I just know a lot of women who are horrible, but that's another thread and aneurysm. Doesn't mean having sex makes you a slut, poor choice of word and I'll just shove my foot further down into my mouth for that. My bad, guys, but I just don't like strip clubs for me and FI right now.

    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Remember when beeth said there's a lot of fuck off to be had in this thread? Yeah, here's a big bowl of it just for you!

I am thoroughly disgusted with how some people here think.

Well, I needed to have my blood pressure raised by some stranger on the Internet today, it's been too low for a couple weeks, so thanks for that.

I can't believe this is for real.

So I'm wondering anti-strip club people, what about plays that feature nudity?

I've been in a few plays where I have been butt ass naked on stage. Way more naked then I have ever been swinging around a pole.

Would that acceptable or would you not see those plays or insist your SO not see those plays? Is it just the context of a strip club or is it the (near) naked lady? (I never did full nude, topless only, I know others who work in bikini bars depending on their state laws)
I don't know anyone personally that has modeled for art nude, or starred in a play nude, or anything like that, but I would see it. Me and FI have been to Aruba and I have commented on another chick's ass to him because she was fit and had a nice body, but it's just the strip club that bothers me and the reputation that guys I know give it.

FI was working on a car the other day and me and his buddy were sitting next to the car, all 3 of us talking. Said buddy was talking about some strip club near the Indiana border, saying how FI will go there for his bachelor party and his past experiences with strippers and the sex they've had and so on. I personally don't know anyone that has gone to a strip club without leaving with a chick's number or hooking up with her. Yes, that's prostitution, but that's my experience, hence my feelings towards them.

If I was in another state with different friends, then I would probably feel different and more relaxed with them. I almost guarantee it since I'm fine with sending FI pics of ladies I find attractive or pointing out a sexy lady at the beach. Just not comfortable with strip clubs.
Is it possible that these guys are lying?

Cause, depending on how many guys you know who claim this, I feel like they're probably lying or exaggerating. Unless they are at the worlds sleaziest strip club, no way that many guys are sexing or getting phone numbers from strippers.

.....Also, how many of those phone numbers were actually fake?
Apparently not that many, FI will get sent pics of said strippers in a hotel room with the guys. I guess it's sort of like a game for some of them?

Fi was sent of one pic of one of the strippers on the hotel floor, completely naked, about to perform on it. It was....weird, like a trophy pic or something.

Some of these guys will go to the same strip clubs over and over and become friendly with the people there. I just don't know how many are fake numbers. The fact that they do this and then talk about my FI going makes me queasy. Some of these guys are just dirty.
This is disgusting and I am not talking about the stripper. What your friends are doing is sickening.
As much as I am not one who would want to end or come between my husbands platonic relationships, Those motherfuckers would have to go.

I'm worried how your FI can be friends with such toxic people.
He doesn't so much hang with them anymore. He works with them, but doesn't really see them outside of work unless their car needs to be worked on. Makes me way more comfortable now. They have this whole clique at his job that goes out and gets drunk and go to strip clubs together. Some even come back to work drunk. I'm 23, FI is 25, his friends are around the same age group, albeit higher, but they love spending their money. I don't know how FI didn't get swept in, but he loves saving money and stock market, so I think I chose a winner.

ETA in regards to saving up money for a wedding and home and opening a college fund for future children we will have. He did that on his own, I teared up pretty bad.
Well I'm 28. My brothers are 20 and 22. They'd never take pictures of women they're about to fuck and pass around the pics as trophies because they aren't disgusting misogynists.

What the fuck does money have to do with it? They fucking disrespecting these women. They're misogynistic assholes who think women are just for the taking. Are you say if your FI was more interested in spending money, he'd behave the same way? That's some fucked up shit.
Though I never did say it's because they're young, it's because they're dumb and disgusting. I have other friends ~21 years old and they don't do this, they respect women. So, it's not an age thing but they are not married and in committed relationships and want to be known as "wild" or what the fuck ever he said. I don't agree with it, so I don't know why I'm being thrown under the bus.

If FI was more interested in spending money, he'd be buying cars and motorcycle parts and food. Strip clubs just aren't his thing. Or taking pictures of women without their permission, regardless of clothes or profession. Is that better worded? We do not condone these actions of his coworkers and friends, and he doesn't participate or want to.

I don't think you're being thrown under the bus. I think we are just trying to challenge your idea that this has anything to do with whether or not a woman takes her clothes off on stage and that if your FI were to see a woman dance naked his behavior hence forth could be traced back to being in a strip club.

Like, let's say my SO or your FI cheats on either of us with a stripper. It would be easy to suddenly blame all strippers for that behavior. But did he cheat because she's a stripper or did he cheat and she just happens to be a stripper?

I would never blame said stripper for her profession if FI cheated, I would blame her and her alone. But since I'm surrounded by this stigma of strip clubs, this is how I feel. Like I said before, if I had lived in another area and know better people, I would probably be okay with it. With where I'm at right now, I don't like it. Maybe once we get older and different friends and coworkers, then I'll even go to one. But right now in my life, I can't.

Really? I'd blame your FI who is sticking his dick in some strange woman's twat. Not the woman who may or may not know he's engaged/in relationship.

    Wait for it...

at 11:39AM: "Well, I mean, fuck yes. I was focusing on said girl, thought it was a given that FI would also be hugely blamed."

at 11:42AM: "I just said it in sarawifenow's comment about this. Thought it was a given, I was only focusing on said girl's profession. Not the fact that FI would be the one to blame. Sorry, I meant "would blame her and her alone" as in her person, not just her and FI would be scott-free. "

I will say it again. I would totally blame FI, probably more since he decided to do it, but I was talking about her profession.

No. No no no no no no. I spent a lot of my teen years and right before I met H being pretty promiscuous so would I fall under your slutty catagory? Or does it not count because I wasn't a stripper?
  • Oh man, slut shaming. I'm not into that, but who I had in mind when I said this was not a stripper or the chick being in that previous situation. It's a chick that goes and rubs the guy's crotch at FI's workplace of guys she wants to hook up with. Right before our guy friend got married, she "spilled" her drink on his crotch and proceeded to rub it, saying "sorry" and asking why they never hooked up, but they still had time before he got married. That's who I'm referring to. Is that not..."slut"?

If you're all about fucking, go ahead. I do not judge someone for having sex with multiple people. FI's BM has been having sex with multiple women a week and we hear about it from him, but I do not say he's a slut. But rubbing a really nice guy's crotch and making advances to me is horrible and very rapist-y, unless I'm wrong.

I'll take that bowl of fuck off, now.

Oh man, slut shaming.

Please find a train of thought and stick with it. This is a damn mess.

No. because "slut" is not actually a thing. It's a man-made construct (note the "man" part of that) designed to shame women who enjoy themselves in and out of the bedroom in a way that makes men (and sometimes other women) uncomfortable or jealous or self-conscious or whatever bullshit comes up. Half the time a woman doesn't even need to have sex or be anywhere near a sexual situation to be determined a slut. Twelve years old, wearing a real bra? Slut. Get your period early? Slut. Skirt too short? Slut. Drink and get assaulted at a frat party? Slut.

No. No no no no no no. I spent a lot of my teen years and right before I met H being pretty promiscuous so would I fall under your slutty catagory? Or does it not count because I wasn't a stripper?

No? Strippers aren't sluts...and neither is being promiscuous, but if you want to be, then go for it. I used it as a term to describe people that came onto others unwantedly, but I guess there's another term for it, like rapisty. Did you rub a man (who's about to get married)'s guy crotch without his permission? That'd be pretty promiscuous, and awful. I guess since I was promiscuous before meeting FI, then I was a slut, if you believe this.

I find it so incredibly hard to believe you didn't know the term slut was almost exclusively used to refer to women. It's such a prevalent issue in today's society. It's brought up in movies, television, the news. Hell, slut-shaming has been talked about on this board. I never took a women's studies class in college either. But it's not an excuse to be completely ignorant about women's issues.

It's not, it's everywhere. I just never knew it was exclusively to women only and a man-made term. I thought it applied to everyone, like asshole, jerk, bitch, douche, etc. I never read the slut-shaming boards because I agree that slut-shaming is bad because some people apply to everyone and anyone that likes to fuck.
If you like to fuck, and you have consenting partners, then you're not a slut. I don't see why this is incredibly hard to understand, but suddenly I'm the "slut-shamer". That's a cool stigma to have now when I post on other boards. Can't wait to be judged and remembered like this.

Oh honey. We came so far and now we're moving backwards.

The term "slut" gets attached in a lot of different ways, many of which involve absolutely no sex at all. You even said yourself, your male friend that sleeps around you'd never call a slut. But the girl who spilled the drink and rubbed the crotch, she is the slut.

    THAT IS SLUT SHAMING.

Darling, I was trying to find the other term for it. Not sexual assault, but something else. Predator, KWIM?

Uhhhh......I would maybe just stop talking on this one now @MadHops21 and I mean that in the nicest way possible. You keep going in circles and aren't making any sense.

Oh man, slut shaming.

No. because "slut" is not actually a thing. Slut.

Wait, it's a female-term only? I have heard guys call each other the term. I did not know the origins of this, that's pretty interesting. Good to know.
Four years of college and not a single woman's studies class did you take...

I thought I was done with the gif I did, but people have questions. If anyone has more questions, please feel free to message me so we don't have to waste thread space (even though it's totally wasted by now).
