Did anyone else lose their icon? For some reason mine is now TK flowers, but when I go into my settings my prohibition photo is still there.

@speakeasy14 - Sometimes that happens on TK. It will probably show back up eventually. The site is just glitchy like that.

@speakeasy14 - I remember reading about your organ before. How fun! I got to pull out my French horn and trumpet during the move. They were so hard to play after not touching them for a few years. I think our second family/living room will be the reading/music room. I seriously love having that as an option. The debt is worth it!..... How are you enjoying living in your house?!?

@alpacina we're partially moved in, so haven't spent a night there yet. When we decided to replace the tub/shower, we lost our bathroom. So I've been staying at his parents' house until we have a working bathroom. As long as he can get the tile finished today, we should be in by the end of the week. I wish it was happening today. But we're there everyday until we're ready to go to bed. I love eating meals together in our dining room, that's as far as my excitement has gone haha.

definitely a great idea. one of FIs best men has a brother in law that is a filmmaker (actually had a film entered in the Cannes festival) who has offered to do some video for us for a very low fee. im tempted to just go with that. im sure he can edit it all pretty and add some sappy music

@jenjen047 We had a videographer, we watched it once it included all of the raw footage a 1 hour recap and a 5 minute recap. We didn't spend a lot and the quality wasn't the greatest but to us it was worth it. It caught some things our 2 photographer just could never really capture and my photographer was amazing. The video saw H's 96 year old grandma, standing near her walker and just off the dance floor doing the hand motions when they played Shout. We never noticed at the wedding it was great to see after.

Sooooo it's been almost a week since I officially made my decision about leaving grad school (last Wednesday).

I've already been confirmed to graduate in January (missed the September graduation deadline).

If I'm available, the department is going to ask the provost to approve of hiring me as an adjunct instructor to teach discussion sections in the fall.

There's an assistant position at the medical school that is looking for a PhD, but the job would be doable with a master's (especially an all-but-dissertation master's), and I've been recommended for the position. They are looking to fast-track the process and start someone right away. The head of my program is meeting with the program directed this afternoon to discuss it.

My sister-in-law is at another university and the equivalent of her position is opening up in my (field's) department, so she's going to ask around and put my name in for consideration.

Ahhhhhhhh.
