Everyone looks so beautiful!! I just got mine--it's a Bonnie 1400! I never saw myself in this silhouette, but I felt most "myself" in it. Plus the whole skirt has a secret layer of sequins!!
I chose a pink dress! its an essence of Australia and its just got a slight hue of pink (the color is called moscato) it should be coming soon! I'm so excited. you all look beautiful!
This one was a size 22 and I'm a size 18 so it had like ten clips holding it in the back but I'm terrified to show my arms in this dress so positive feed back would be great.
Please tell me you've since gone and bought this dress. You look amazing in it.
I got mine today! It's from the Allure Bridal line and was my favorite of their entire line of dresses (which I knew was the brand I would be purchasing from--long story). I had no idea how it would look on me, so I came in with a list of about ten dresses I wanted to try.
It came down to two in the end, but my mom and sister both said that this one was their favorite (and only the salesperson knew it was MY #1 choice) so I knew it was the right gown for me. Love how Grace Kelly it feels
Definitely never pictured myself in something like this. I always expected to go with tea length and simple, because I've never liked overly frilly/sequined/ostentatious dresses. This one is still very elegant and understated, IMO, but it does have about 100x more poof than I expected to ever wear.
I think I only posted mine over on the Attire & Accessories board, so here it is. Enzoani "Edinburgh", purchased at Brides For A Cause in Portland. I'm pretty stoked that it actually fit; it's a size 16 sample of a discontinued gown, and the size chart said it shouldn't have zipped, but it did.
One shop, second dress I tried on. I didn't even think I'd want a dress like the one I got (full skirt, chapel train, sleeveless). I had my heart set on the OPPOSITE. I wanted to definitely have sleeves because I hate my arms. But I was sure surprised when my mom made me try it on. I loved it much better than the one with sleeves I'd been dreaming of. I loved feeling like a princess. It's a Demetrios dress #1467 in a size 16.
Here's my dress, it's from Bridal Bliss Designs (etsy). She made the bolero for me too. I had the belt custom made from another etsy store (Icing 101).
I am so happy with how it all turned out (even though it was a wee bit scary working with someone in Missouri when I'm NJ and couldn't go for a fitting). Definitely need some alteration, but a local seamstress handled that with no issue at all.
We were married on June 7th--I'm in shock that it's all over.
My dress. I got it on Amazon for a great price and a few weeks after I ordered it it tripled in price. I got it super early but my friend is a seamstress and she offered to alter it for me. Please excuse the toys, we had just come back from 6 flags.
@christinemireille We may be dress twins! I have narrowed the search down to two and the Bonny 1400 is the one I keep coming back to. I think I am going to add a bolero to it for at least the ceremony (just not long sleeve like in the picture).
Love the pictures and reading the stories! This is my second wedding and I got the dress of my dreams this time around. As a plus-sized girl I really didn't think I'd have a lot of options and that all the dresses would be frumpy. (Never pick a dress based on how it looks in a picture or on a hanger!) I tried on 7 dresses, narrowed down to my top 3 and ultimately choose this one even though I felt pretty certain it was the one when I tried it on initially! Getting approval from my mom, my Matron of Honor, a bridesmaid and flower girl made me sure I made the right choice! I felt like a princess! My sister will be storing it when it comes in because I'll try it on every day! Lol. January 9 can't get here quick enough
I don't have any pics of me in my dress as I have not started alterations, super excited, I fell in love with it the second I saw it. It has a removeable black lace jacket that buttons up the back
I don't know of any, though there is one a county or so over called "Time and Again" that I've heard mention of. That may be one to pursue. Thank you for the idea!
My mom's friend told her about tradesy.com, I think it was. I haven't looked into that yet, but I'm hesitant to try to sell a 35-lb dress online. I can only imagine what the shipping would be...
Again, thank you for the suggestion! And for the compliment too.
Here's mine. I found this from the beginning (third dress I tried on) and it was the "dress to beat". Nothing beat it, so I said yes to this dress on Saturday. Mori Lee 67491, but with the added straps. Even with the additions, I still didn't break the bank!
edit because I'm still figuring out this whole picture thing
From my first wedding (I'm a widow.) Looking for a second wedding dress, even though it will be Justice of the Peace, since it will be my fiance's first time around (we were childhood sweethearts who reconnected.)
Re: Show us your plus size wedding gown!
can I just say that's one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen! ! X

Our wedding was 10/16/15, and I'm now looking to sell it, actually. Does anyone have any idea where I could find some ideas of where/how to do that?
Sorry, I think this photo is going to come out huge. My apologies.

I wasn't impressed with it on the hanger, but once I put it on, SO flattering and beautiful.
