  Morning everybody!

  
  

  I've been MIA for a couple of days because work has been a little nuts (I got exams and/or papers in every class...why do I do this to myself?!).  I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend.  I don't have much planned, other than the usual grocery shopping/yoga/church.  My current plan is to sit on the couch with the dog and binge-watch Sex and the City.  My neighborhood will be crawling with trick-or-treaters tomorrow night I'm sure, but I am not well-set-up to hand out candy (I have a garage apartment), so I probably will turn my lights off and hide inside.  I'm such a spoilsport!

  
  

  I do have something awesome to report, though: I had a paper accepted at a conference in Europe next Spring!  So, I get to spend Spring Break in Budapest!!  I'm so excited--I haven't presented at an international conference before, and this one was pretty competitive.  Plus, this will mark the first time I've presented at a conference post-grad school, which is exciting in itself!  And...I mean, BUDAPEST!

  
  

  Your FIRST car?

  I learned how to drive in my parents' 1996 Ford Winstar minivan (and then drove it to school my senior year of HS, which was mortifying).  But the first car I bought was a 2000 Ford Focus.  It was a lemon...by the time I traded it in, something had crawled in the AC and died, clogging up the system.  The floorboards would flood any time I tried to run it.

  
  

  The FIRST time you flew in an airplane?

  I was 8 months old, so I don't actually remember it, but according to the stories my mother tells me, she was so sick on that flight that she let the woman sitting next to her take care of me for most of it.

  
  

  The FIRST time you had sex?

  *Hangs head in shame*  Sophomore year of high school, front seat of a Nissan Maxima, behind a huge building supply warehouse in my hometown.  It wasn't exactly special.

  
  

  A memory from FIRST grade?

  I had the school troublemaker in my class...one day, he pulled the fire alarm, and we all evacuated and were sitting outside in the late-summer Oklahoma heat. I remember our teacher screaming at him in front of the whole class.  (She didn't exactly have a sterling reputation...)

  
  

  Something you came in FIRST place for?

  I used to do scholastic meets in high school and pretty routinely came in first in English or History.

   

  The FIRST person you ever voted for in a Presidential election?

  Barack Obama, in 2008.  I actually cried in the voting booth...I had been doing a lot of research on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan at that point, and he was promising to end them both, and I was an idealist and felt like the country was on the cusp of something great.  (Now I'm much more cynical and I cry at politics for other reasons!)

  
  

  The FIRST time you met your SO?

  I was taking a grad seminar; he was teaching said grad seminar.  So we met the first day of class.  I got there a little later than normal and all of the good seats (the ones near the back) were taken, so I ended up sitting right next to him around the big seminar table.

  
  

  The FIRST trip/vacation/time away with your SO? 

  We went to Turkey with a group of people from our school about 5 months after we met.  In retrospect, it was hilarious, because by that point we were both seriously into each other, but we were trying not to be obvious about it.  There was a lot of awkward standing around and trying to get time alone just to talk to each other.  Our trip to Istanbul in December (32 days away, yay!) will be our first vacation by ourselves.

  
  

  The FIRST concert you went to?

  I saw Jars of Clay in the 7th grade at a church youth conference.

   

  Are you still friends with your FIRST best friend?

  Nope.  We were best friends in kindergarten, but we drifted away after that.

  @swazzle I don't keep candy in the house because I know I would eat it all! I still can't wait to see your costumes!!!!

  Last night I came home to a sick dog and sick H. I had to cancel with the therpist last night which sucks because we needed a good hour of therapy! H had an upset stomach, but felt well enough to eat dinner, so I think he had therpistitis (like schoolitis) last night.

  We brought Quigley to the vet and they were able to lance the abcess, they gave us oral and topical antibiotics to give him for 10 days.

  We got home and H made HC healthy takeout orange chicken which was DELICIOUS.

  I made H sleep on the couch in case he was really sick, so Quigley and I had the bed to ourselves, we stayed up late and watched TV.

  Today I leave work early to go up to the fertility doctor to go over the game plan for IVF #2 (yay.....). After that appointment I'm going home and snuggling with Quigley, then I'll go to the gym.

  Tomorrow is grocery shopping.

  Sunday I'll do some yardwork.

  My weekends are so exciting.

  I HAVE AN IRRATION IRRITATION THIS MORNING:

  I wear a uniform to work and I hate wearing it anywhere outside of work because it looks like shit, so I brought an outfit to change into before I head to the doctor's office. The top is light pink and so far FIVE people have touched it and commented on how pretty it is, etc. It's not a fucking boutique. End rant.

  On to the questions:

  Your FIRST car? It was a 1997 Chevy Blazer, I inherited it after my grandparents died. It sucked, so I traded it in for a 1995 VW Cabrio (which I LOVED)

   

  The FIRST time you flew in an airplane? I was 6 or 7, my parents surprised me with a trip to Disney World.

   

  The FIRST time you had sex? I was 16, it was on a cabin on a lake. The guy is a grocery store manager now and is balding and ugly. He was HOT in high school though.

   

  A memory from FIRST grade? I had an awesome teacher!!!! She introducted us to whales and dolphins and that's where my obsession started. I think from that point on until I was an adult, we would go on a whale watch every year

   

  Something you came in FIRST place for? Nothing. LOLZ.

   

  The FIRST person you ever voted for in a Presidential election? I registered to vote in 1998 so whoever was the democrat back then.

   

  The FIRST time you met your SO? We met on POF.

   

  The FIRST trip/vacation/time away with your SO? We wen to Mexico six months after meeting. That was a big gamble, we had fun though! I wish we could go back next year, but we are broke as a joke right now.

   

  The FIRST concert you went to? NKOTB

   

  Are you still friends with your FIRST best friend? Yes! We don't talk as much anymore since she has a kid, but she's been giving me a ton of advice on moving down south and hopefully we'll be able to hang out when we decide to finally move down there.

  Your FIRST car? 

  My parents gave me their Jeep Grand Cherokee when I got my license and they got a new car. It was a great car but it was SO big and I crashed it many times

  My mom and I went to visit her BFF in FL when I was around 3 or 4.

  I had just turned 16, was dating a guy older than me, thought I was in LOVE, and we did it on the couch in my family room while my parents and friend slept upstairs. #klassy

  
  

  A memory from FIRST grade?

  I went to a Catholic school at the time and had a nun. She tied back my butt-length hair with a rubber band and my grandmom had to hold back my mom from going to the school and yelling at my teacher. My mom had to cut part of my hair to get the rubber band out. I also received the most 'sad faces' in the class mostly for excessive talking.

  Not counting in passing... it was at my BFF at the time's college graduation party. H is BFFs with her brother and they all showed up at the party drunk. H tried to dance with me and I was NOT having it. And then I drank too much and we made out in the bathroom and had sex 3x. #hofosho

  
  

  The FIRST trip/vacation/time away with your SO? 

  3 months into dating, we spent a long weekend at my aunt's beach house in Ocean City, NJ. It was the beginning of September so the weather was perfect and we had an amazing time away, just the two of us. I was begging him with my mind to say 'I love you' on that trip but it didn't happen. He said it the following Saturday though! 

  
  

  The FIRST concert you went to? 

  My parents got me tickets to see Mariah Carey on her first-ever tour in 1993. I was 8 and obsessed with her (I was in her paid-fan club). It was incredible. My mom slipped a security guard some dollas and she took me to the first row directly in front of the stage to hand Mariah the flowers that I brought for her. 

  
  

  Are you still friends with your FIRST best friend? 

  Nope. I was until a couple years ago. She was supposed to be a BM in my wedding and I was supposed to be the MOH in hers. And then she went completely insane and that was that #byefelicia

  I did my run this morning so tonight I wil get my eyebrows done and go to Macy's. And probably eat Chipotle. Tomorrow FI is off all day!! We are going to a cake tasting and a flower consult and running some other errands. Sunday he works 11-4 so I'm not sure what my plans are. Overall a low key weekend, I think!

  @futuremrshistorian - Congrats! That's so awesome! Is it paid for and all or do you have out-of-pocket expenses? I cried when Bush beat Kerry (sad and scared tears) and then again when Obama won (happy tears!).

  @Swazzle - The school will take care of my conference registration, hotel, and flight!  I'm going to stay a few extra days (since it's over Spring Break), so those will be on me, but it's not bad!

  Tonight is gaming, and we have to buy candy to hand out tomorrow ... oops. I'm going to finish a striped scarf I'm working on (it's rainbow, very twee), make another posh Doctor Who scarf, and perhaps cast on a baby afghan depending on motivation.

  
  

  Tomorrow I'm going to do housework - straighten up the living room, library, kitchen, dining room, and front bathroom, do laundry, and hand out candy in the evening. I suck at life so my costume is an adult, but my official excuse is it was the scariest thing I could think of.

  
  

  Sunday I'm going to enjoy my extra hour of sleep, then we're going to see my parents. My mom and I are going to block the two throws, at least one of the baby afghans, and maybe a couple of the scarves I made over the last month. 

  
  

  I'm going to give my childhood cat extra scritches - he turns 19 in a couple weeks, but he hasn't been eating much or at all lately. He still acts like himself otherwise (into everything, following my mom around, on top of whatever piece of furniture he wants to be on, etc.). My mom took him to the vet last Friday and they gave him a pill to stimulate his appetite - it worked, but then he slowed down on the eating again. I am worried for him.

  
  

  We might meet my brother and FSIL while we're there - they're doing something else this weekend, but we all might converge on my parents' house for dinner.

  It's finally Friday!! I am just waiting for a call back from my doctor this morning, about the MRI & see when we get everything else started. I feel dizzy and nausea today from some meds I'm not post Tuesday's procedure.  Tonight H has hockey so I plan to get my hair dyed after work.  After the geneticist appointment yesterday H & I went pumpkin picking, we picked out one for Anneliese so I can decorate it tonight for her.  It's so big.

  Saturday no plans other than staying home passing out candy to trick or treaters.  Sunday we have a wedding.  I finally have something to wear, picking out a dress was hard( in the back of my head I"m thinking I should be 31 weeks pregnant). It should be a fun wedding, and our wedding photographer is doing our friends wedding so it will be nice to see him again. It means we will probably miss TWD though on Sunday night.

  I think my bf is going to try to bring me to an amusement park tonight.  I said no, but he thinks it will be fun.  He doesn't understand how crazy I am and why I don't do scary things.  If he makes me go, he's gonna regret it cause he gets to deal with my nightmares.

My next door neighbor, her older brother, and I decided we were going to run away.   We hopped on our bikes completely barefoot and took off.  I don't remember exactly, but there was a pick up following us and I panicked.  Ended up falling over and getting my foot stuck in my bike gears.  My neighbor's older brother had to pry my foot out and then carried me home. Never tried to run away after that.

  @swazzle Your costume sounds awesome. I still haven't seen the new JP! So jealous that you saw Mariah back when she was great! I also hid Halloween candy and texted my H "if you find it, don't fucking eat it".

  I'm excited to get some trick or treaters tomorrow. My old house was the end of a dead end of old people so we never got any. This year we are on a decent street so I'll be sad if we don't get any. Then afterwards we're going to a bonfire.

  Hi everyone! I haven an uneventful day ahead and an uneventful weekend. I might go trick or treating with my friend and her kids on Saturday but thats about it.
  
  Your FIRST car? 

  A 1993 Ford Taurus Station that was gifted to me three days before I moved to NY to be with BF. I drove that thing here by myself, and it lasted me two more years before the head gasket blew. I was very sad.
  
  The FIRST time you flew in an airplane?
  I was 17, headed to Minneapolis for the summer before my senior year in HS.

  UGH I was the far too young age of 14, in my room. I wouldn't even call it sex, actually.

  We had both moved in to our dorms early for orientation before classes started, and me and my suitemates wanted some friends so we went up to the top (6th) floor and knocked on all the doors, got some girls to come with us, and then headed downstairs to the 5th floor. We continued knocking on doors and by the time we got to BF's room there was like 15 of us an we all introduced ourselves but BECAUSE there was so many of us he didn't remember me the next time I saw him, and I thought he was so cute so every time I saw him I found an excuse to talk. It took him at least a week to learn my name though lol.

  @swazzle hahaha I love all of your answers! I never got sad faces for talking to much, just letters home that I had my seat moved because I wouldn't stop talking during class.  None of my teachers realized I would talk to anyone, including myself haha.

  I'm really frustrated with my job and it's a struggle to find motivation lately. Essentially, while I was out for surgery, my team spent down our funds despite my strict instructions. It wasn't just one person's fault...it had to go through 3 people (my staff, my boss, the CFO), but I had given them ALL instructions and they failed. So now I'm trying singlehandedly to dig us out of a financial hole. I'm just tired. Before surgery I worked about 100 hours a week and I just can't do that anymore, and I'm sad that the program I created is in jeopardy through no fault of my own. /rant

  
  

  I'm up in weight this morning which is also frustrating, but I'll just keep plugging along. Today I'm going to happy hour with a few coworkers, and I'll try to not eat and drink all the things. I'm hoping to make it to small group personal training after that but we'll see how I feel.

  
  

  This weekend I have nothing planned specifically, but there are a lot of things on my to do list that I'd like to get done. I will run both days for sure.

  
  

  Also, thanks for all the support yesterday with my blog idea! I spent last night registering my domain and setting up my blog and working on my first post and brainstorming other post ideas. It's good to have a distraction and a goal, since life has been pretty shitty lately. I'll share the link if anyone is interested, once I get the first post published later today.

  When I was five days old. I was adopted, and my parents flew me from Nebraska to New Hampshire. All reports say I was a perfect little passenger and didn't even cry. My mom apparently got lots of compliments (but also a lot of strange looks since I was so tiny and people wondered why I was flying). 

  
  

  The FIRST time you had sex?

  My 16th birthday. The guy was still in high school but was older and, so we waited til I turned 16. I was MADLY in love with him. We did it in his waterbed in his parents' basement. Afterwards we ate Twizzlers and drank root beer.   

  
  

  A memory from FIRST grade?

  I sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to audition for the school play and got one of the leads (the glowworm in James and the Giant Peach). I was absolutely convinced I was going to be an actress when I was a grown-up. Spoiler alert: I am not.

  The 6th grade regional spelling bee. Every Young Author's contest in grades 1-8. A bunch of 5k's (well, 1F, not overall first). Actually I used to win a lot of things. I don't anymore.

  The FIRST time you met your SO? 

  We met on eHarmony. Our first date was bowling, which segued into dinner, which segued into a long walk.

  We went to Portsmouth for a long weekend and drank ALL the beer and he indulged me in the hours I spent at the running store.

  @futuremrshistorian during Obama's first campaign I SWORE I would never vote for him due to living with my ultra-conservative parents (thankfully I was too young by just a couple months to vote). Now I swear they brain washed me lol.

  @untouchablets - I almost voted for Bush in 2004, but I got confused and missed the registration deadline (turned 18 in in October, didn't realize I could register BEFORE I turned 18).  My parents were like, "What's wrong with her?  We did not raise her this way."  When I did register to vote, I was filling out the form at the kitchen table and I wondered out loud as to what I should register as.  My little sister was sitting across the table from me, looked me dead in the face, and said "You're a [OurLastName].  You register as a Democrat.  Or we disown you."

  
  

  @speakeasy14 - I am loving your first-place 4-H project.  You could be in The Baby-Sitters Club, with your Kid Kit and everything!!

  @futuremrshistorian Thankfully I was already on my own by the time the next election rolled around and was able to see things from perspectives that weren't influenced by my parents. I can't imagine what our family dinners would have been if I still lived at home that year. Explosive, I'm sure lol. I actually had to mute my dad on Facebook this election season because I can't wrap my head around his conspiracy theories sometimes lol. He can be SO EXTREME.

  Oh my gosh, I NEED this weekend. Coming back to work after vacation is the worst. Plus this morning it's been raining and is suppose to continue all day long. That makes for an even more unproductive Friday at work!
  I'm looking forward to Saturday. I'm going to Six Flags for my brother's company's family day and then H and I will be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters at our house later that night. Not sure what we are doing Sunday, maybe working on our deck in the backyard. We're replacing a few boards, sanding and re-painting it.
  
  

  Your FIRST car? A red Chevy Silverado pickup truck. My dad wanted me to "have some extra metal" around me when I started driving, lol.
  

  The FIRST time you flew in an airplane? I think it was in high school for a band trip to NY.
  

  The FIRST time you had sex? Ugh. Does ANYONE out there have a story they are fond of?! I was 21 and it was my high school sweetheart. He left me a few months later for someone else. Turns out they got married, but I hear she beats him, soooo.....
  

  A memory from FIRST grade? Umm....coloring?
  

  Something you came in FIRST place for? Probably something related to band in high school.
  

  The FIRST person you ever voted for in a Presidential election? Bush, though I have since seen the error of my ways *runs and hides*
  

  The FIRST time you met your SO? On match.com. We went out to dinner which turned into dinner, drinks, dessert, and a game of pool. I think we both had so much fun we didn't want the night to end. He called me the next day and we set up another date.
  

  The FIRST trip/vacation/time away with your SO? We went camping....in a tent....and I had to poop in a hole. The next trip was quite different - Carnival cruise to Mexico.
  

  The FIRST concert you went to? Creed when I was 15. I remember my dad went with me and he got all nervous when the guys at the door started checking everyone for weapons.

  @speakeasy14 it's not even a little bit okay. I hate it here, my CWs are nosy as shit and there's no respect for personal space. If it was a black top I don't think I'd be as annoyed but still. Also as they're touching my clothes they ask questions, I can't even be nice anymore because ANOTHER person just touched it and asked "you have a date?" I reply with "yes, with a vaginal ultrasound, so if you consider it a date, then yes, it's a date."

  GOOOOD morning. I feel like the kitten above because I stayed up way past my bedtime watching the Patriots win! (I actually went to bed at the end of the third quarter. I wasn't scurred.)

  
  

  Today I have work, an appointment with the psychiatrist at my doctor's office to be evaluated for ADHD (I've always been convinced I had it, but it's never been confirmed. I take anti-anxiety/depression meds, but still have issues, so I think I'm treating the wrong thing. Hopefully I can get on some correct medication and be better!)

  
  

  Tonight, H & I will head up to Maine for our Halloween weekend with friends! I'm going to meet my parents for lunch tomorrow, and then we're having a dress-up party. I'm being Piper Chapman from OITNB, because I demand comfort for Halloween costumes. Tomorrow night will be utter debauchery, I'm sure. Sunday we'll get up, clean, and drive home. 

  
  

  Your FIRST car? 

  The first car I really drove was my parents 1985 Pontiac Parisienne, nicknamed the Big Blue Bitch. I also borrowed my grandfather's 1987 Ford Ranger a lot - that was my favorite. He taught me to drive that truck, and it was a stick, so I thought I was really cool. The first car I bought myself was a 1994 Nissan Sentra, just before my senior year of college. 

  
  

  The FIRST time you flew in an airplane?

  My sophomore year of high school - my sister had a Make-A-Wish granted and we went to Disney World. We even got bumped up to first class! 

  
  

  The FIRST time you had sex?

  The summer between freshman & sophomore years of high school. I was 15, my boyfriend was 18 (oops). We did it on his twin bed in his bedroom while his parents were gone.   

  
  

  A memory from FIRST grade?

  My dad adopted me when I was in the first grade, so I got to change my last name. I was the coolest kid in class for like a week, because you only get to change your name when you get married, so this was SUPER special. 

  
  

  Something you came in FIRST place for? 

  I was the conference & regional champion in the triple jump my senior year of high school. I lost the state championship by 3/4 of an inch. I'm totally not still bitter.

  
  

  The FIRST person you ever voted for in a Presidential election?

  It would have been 2000, so probably Al Gore, because I've always been a raging liberal. 

  
  

  The FIRST time you met your SO? 

  I'm about 92.1% sure we met at a party in college somewhere along the way, but neither of us have any recollection. This time around, we met at a sports bar to watch the Patriots, after connecting on Facebook.

  Our honeymoon! Aruba

  Barenaked Ladies, Guster, and Ben Folds at Madison Square Garden my freshman year of college.

  Speaking of touching, apparently there's now a law that it is not ok to touch a pregnant woman's belly without her consent.  Best law ever!

  @goldenpenguin can't stop watching the Gronk gif. I love that man. I was too tired to watch last night's game, you did good sstaying up til the 3rd!
