Ugh I'm absolutely exhausted!

I think we have had one of the worst months in a while...DH got into another wreck last night. Again, it was his fault and he was following too closely. He wrecked my car that I got when I graduated from college 4 years ago. It was a 2008 Toyota 4Runner. Luckily Callie and I were at home and not in the car with him but seriously when he called me to tell me what happened...I was speechless. I'm so stressed and so overwhelmed right now.

We are so lucky to have this new van right now because if we didn't....we would be without a car. I'm terrified to see what our insurance does because of this. I'm trying really hard not to be mad and frustrated with him right now but it is so hard. I've been working really hard for us to save money for this van and then now I have to pay off whatever comes from these two wrecks he has had. All DH's money goes towards his tuition so I'm feeling a little drained right now because I feel like all I've been doing and throwing my money at freaking cars!!!! I'm so tired from crying. I spent what seemed like forever in the car this morning dropping Callie off with the nanny, dropping DH off at work, dropping Maddux off with my parents, and then getting myself to work. Someone please pass me a HUGE glass of wine.

@southernpeach89 - Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry for all that you're dealing with right now! I'm glad your H is safe but that's really frustrating that it happened and is putting such a strain on you. Try to take a little time for yourself today if you can (I realize it's difficult with Callie and since you're stuck doing all of the driving right now), even if it's just for a half hour, so you can relax and recharge a little. All the hugs and a whole vineyard of wine

@Swazzle Thank you. Thankfully I might get an hour in between picking up Callie and leaving work myself to recharge. It's just going to be hard for a while until we get this all taken care of.

@speakeasy14 Yea he is fine. I made him go to the hospital yesterday to get checked out since this is his second accident in two weeks. Everything looked ok thankfully. He is just super sore from the air bag and luckily no one else was hurt either.

What the actual FUCK!?! I'm proud of you for holding it together because, after hearing that he was safe, I would have lost the ever loving shit on my husband if he did that. Not only is it reckless to your pocket book, it is reckless to your family. Does he normally have issues driving or is this a new thing for him? If I was you, I would put the burden on him to talk to the insurance at this point and try to find a remedy (is there a safety class he can take to reduce the increase in premium?). Huge hugs and huge wine glasses should be coming your way.

@minskat30 THat's a good idea. I didn't even think about that. He needs some sort of "Get your shit together and stop hitting cars" type of safety class. If that helps our insurance in any way then that's a big plus. I haven't really talked to him about it because I've just been so upset. It's hard for me to talk to him seriously because I will start crying. He needs a break too I think just to cool off because I don't know how this happens twice in two weeks.

I've read everything and I think I'm making some pancake bites this weekend with chocolate chips because I'm an adult!

Still fighting the 2nd coming of sinus cold, but at least this one doesn't make me want to sleep for hoursssss. I have tea from home this morning.

Last night we met Gail Vaz-Oxlade last night. I'd AW some photos we took with her, but my phone doesn't want me to sign into TK lately.
Anyways, I own "Debt-Free Forever" and got it signed

That was exciting.

Tonight is boring. Dentist appt and then likely coming home to snack on pasta and crashing early.
Tomorrow I'm working later because I have a doctor appt in the middle of the day, then afterwards McD is having a friends and family thing for new menu items.

Also we got an email saying our travel stuff is in, so we're going to pick it up later this week! Yay!

I think a break is a good idea for both of you to calm down. Write down what you want him to do once you are calm...so you don't include things like "don't be a fucking idiot" on the list

(you can write that on a separate list you tear up before you give him the real list if it makes you feel better).

Taking a safety class, independently ferreting out the insurance increases and ways to minimize it, creating a new plan for transportation for the family and figuring out and explaining to you why he he feels the need to drive so recklessly would be on the top of my list. In the meantime, wine, wine and more wine is in order.

@southernpeach89 Glad your H is okay! And good on you for making him visit hospital just in case. Friend of ours use to be bad a tailgating and had been in a few minor accidents, we all suggested that he needs to take a refresher course on driving {in a nice way obv} Doesn't hurt to relearn some things anyways!

@untouchablets - I've been having trouble with TK, too. On my home laptop, I have to use Internet Explorer, because Chrome won't even show me the 'log in' button. Maybe you could try a different browser?

If she's not (or you don't know what she drinks), then I'd send her an Edible Arrangement. Or a nice gift certificate for a restaurant.

I would be upset with my DH, too, if that had happened. I mean, we're all human and make mistakes, but especially after the last accident. You know you can always vent to us! Also, you put your DHs real name in your post, in case you care.

Last night DH and I moved both our cars back from the garages to our house. Yay for the sweet pastor from the Catholic Church who shares an alley with us. He asked his plow contractor to move the 6 feet of snow off our parking pad. Without him, we wouldn't be parking there until May. Pic included.

After that we went and got a yummy dinner and drove by a friend's house to help her dig out her driveway. Just when we got there, she told us one of her other neighbors had done it, so we got bonus points for being WILLING to do it, but didn't have to actually shovel it. We had both been shoveling all day, between our spot (getting the stuff off the edges and into the middle where the frontloader could get it), plus the three elderly neighbors that we cleared their garages.

Then we watched The Farm about the Angola prison in Louisiana and went to bed. I had a horrible night's sleep for no good reason, but I'm still pretty chipper today. I have lunch with boss's boss today, so hopefully he gives me a little motivation to make it through the next couple months until something good happens.

@untouchablets TK has really screwy tech issues like that. I've been logged out of my account for a day or two before, and it won't let me log back in. TK has some of the worst tech glitches ever.
@labro Do you guys actually talk about the books at book club, or do you end up just hanging out and chatting? If the latter, then I'm sure it's no big deal if you're too busy to read the books every now and then.

@TwoDimes Zoey loves bully sticks too. The ones we bought her are suuuuuper stinky though, and we basically have to give her a bath after she finishes it. Are the ones you get Indy better? I may look into a local store here for those--never thought of that! Also, I vote delivery too.

Two pages already and I just got settled in at work, sheesh!

This morning there was no employee parking left... our employee garage was full and both lots were full, so a bunch of employees have had to park randomly at neighboring businesses. I had to park in a handicap spot (I have a tag for it), and I HATE having to do that even though I have valid reason to use a spot. Part of the problem is that the roof of our garage is impassable due to snow, it has not been plowed/shoveled at all, and half of the parking lot has giant snow mounds blocking parking spots. I'm ready for spring.

Last night I worked late (until 6:30) and then met up with BF for an impromptu date at our favorite place. We stuffed our faces with cheese items. The convo went to a friend of mine who is having a boy and can't figure out a name, and I admitted to BF that while I gave her some ideas, I am hoarding a couple names on my own short list because so far no one I know has named their kid either of the names. I know it doesn't matter, I just don't want to volunteer them out yet. If someone names their son one of the names I won't really care, I don't plan on having kids any time soon, and by then it could be the #1 name or something, or I could end up only having a girl(s) or no kids or what have you. I told BF the name at the top of my list and his mouth dropped open because apparently it's a name he's always had tucked away on his own list. So I guess last night we named our potential future son. Then we talked about beer and documentaries.

Random Q for all, is Downton Abbey on Netflix or Prime or anything? I've wanted to watch it but I only have Netflix and Amazon Prime, no cable yet.

@Swazzle I'm glad the office Keurig is working again! I don't know what I would do without my Keurig. Coffee is vital. Pancake bites sound AWESOME too.

@southernpeach89 Ugh, tell your H to go back to driving school. Accidents happen, but 2 where he is at fault this close together, there is something he needs to change. I would have had the same reaction as @minskat30, make sure he's ok and then unleash all hell on him. Everything she said is spot on. Minskat30 is wise.

Ha! Don't you feel sorry for my "poor husband" and all that jazz? We resort to lists in our household when neither of us can communicate without yelling and I would most certainly yell in this instance. @southerpeach89 has more patience than Mother Teresa in my book right now.

@wink0erin Downton Abbey used to be on Netflix but I think it's available on Amazon Prime now. All of the seasons are available for free on PBS affiliate websites too (or they used to be...or maybe it's just the current season) but obviously you lose on on being able to stream to your TV without rigging up some cables.

@minskat30 I think lists are a great idea, my mom has used lists/notes and sometimes little drawings or comics to communicate to my dad, that way she doesn't end up yelling. I have heard her get her stern "what were you thinking?" voice, both with me and with him, that's when you know you've REALLY messed up because she does not yell. They've been married 30 years so it seems to work.
