Morning! Sup? 

Last night H and I went out for sushi kind of late so we didn't have company over and instead I had a glass of wine and read and then went to bed. 

I'm feeling kind of.... annoyed? overwhelmed? frustrated? I don't know what word to use. I've been getting up at 4:15-4:20 every morning to work out. And I've really been ok with that until today. I am SO tired, you guys, I couldn't finish my workout today. I don't want to stop what I'm doing, I just need more time in the day so I can get a decent night's sleep. I leave my house at 6am, get to work at 6:45am and I'm here until 5:30pm then get home at 6:30pm. It's not feasible for me to work out after work because 1) once I get home, I'm done. Like seriously. 2) Even if I WOULD do it when I get home, that means I'm eating dinner at 8pm and that's just not a good fit for me. So, I guess I'm just venting because I'm tired and I'm frustrated that I couldn't get through my workout this morning. I just need to start going to bed earlier. I've gotten around 5.5 hours of sleep every night this week and I definitely need more.  /vent

Tonight I have to pack for the weekend! I can't even put into words how excited I am to see my ladies and celebrate @GoldenPenguin 's birthday this weekend!

  • Good morning!  It's almost Friday!!

    I had an appointment with my OB yesterday.  I had some good news, "eh" news, and bad news.  

    The good news is that she wants me to start incorporating yoga and light PiYo to help build strength in my back and core, so I'm not on quite the same restrictions as before.  YAY!!!!

    The "eh" news is that I gained 14-15 lbs in 4 weeks.  She's a little concerned due to some other things that have popped up, but she did say that she isn't quite sure she believes it because she doesn't see it on me.  She says I have only gained in my belly and that I don't look like I'm gaining too much.  THANK YOU, DR!  Anyway, we're going to watch it carefully.  Also, K measured 4 weeks ahead at this appointment, so we have to watch that as well.  So I'm measuring at 28 weeks instead of 24.  No wonder my back is hurting!!

    The bad news is that my BP was really high and concerning, especially with the rapid weight gain, swelling, nausea, pounding/rushing blood in my head, rapid resting heart rate (pre-preg I sit at 60 bpm; earlier in preg I'm at 70 bpm; lately I've been 80+ bpm).  I'm usually at 100-110/50-60 and my BP was 142/85 yesterday.  I have to go back in on Friday to get it restested and run some other tests to see if it's pre-eclampsia.  So, I'm crossing my fingers it was just a fluke!!

    @Swazzle - How many days do you work out?  It might help to have a couple days where you don't get up early and let yourself sleep in.  And I know you don't want to work out after work, but maybe those evenings you can just do some yoga in bed.  There are a lot of night-time stretches you can do in bed that also help prep your body for sleep.  Don't want you to wear yourself out, you've been on such a roll!
  • @caseface5 OMG!! Your hair looks fantastic!!! Does it feel sooo much lighter? And you look fantastic today as well! Congrats on the weight loss.
  • @southernpeach89 - I need a makeover, too.  I'm going to try to get a mani and pedi this weekend.  Hopefully you can have some time to beautify yourself this weekend, too.

    @PamBeesly524 - Woo-hoo on the run!!  I was cleared to do some light yoga and PiYo, so I did 20 minutes of PiYo yesterday.  I was so creaky but it did stretch out my hips some and felt really good.

    @caseface5 - LOVE the hair.  And you look great.  Congrats on meeting your first goal!!

    @CocoBellaF I'm glad your Dr is lifting some restrictions and I hope your tests results are good when you go back. 

    @PamBeesly524 Congrats on the run! I need to get back into running, I just feel so bad because I want to bring Tess but she stops all the time and I trip and almost fall on my face.

  • LOL @caseface5 I definitely need one. It's hard to get a day to myself with DH's work schedule. Weekends I'm full time Callie and during the week I'm working and then at night full time Callie. DH works so much. Ugh maybe next week when DH is on Spring Break I will find time.
  • @caseface5 - We like to take the dogs on the warm-up and/or cool-down of our runs.  That way they can stop and sniff and we aren't trying to run.  Maybe Tess would like that!
  • @jenna8984 - Yay on gifts for baby!!  Getting something unexpected like that is really special.
  • @swazzle don't feel bad for not finishing your workout!! You are allowed to be tired and take a break and sleep a little later. You SHOULD be doing that. Like I said yesterday, I am SUPER proud of you for everything you're accomplishing. It is probably more productive for you to skip a workout if you're not feeling it rather than try and feel bad about it.

    Hello everyone!

    I am feeling good! Alternate side parking ends today which means when I get home at 10 tonight I can park wherever the hell I want and probably not have to walk two blocks!! Yay!

    I also picked out my new gym, it was the UFC gym that I talked about yesterday. I loved it! The weight room was exactly what I wanted, I can even deadlift which isn't allowed at a lot of gyms. The price was right and if I want to do classes I can, just not all of them which is fine because I don't want to do Brazilian jiu jitsu anyway!

     I got a weird reaction from my roommate though. She basically tried to talk me OUT of getting fit. I told her about my day and how excited I am that I'm losing weight and that I can't wait to see my abs and she was like "the problem is you can't maintain that... And lifting weights doesn't make you strong." I was like what???? And then she tries to explain it but couldn't. So idk what that's about but I told her she can say that to my abs of steel sometime next year lol. 

    Today is super nice but I'm working 13 hours so I don't get to enjoy ANY of it :(

  • @caseface5 WOW! What a difference, it looks fantastic! Makes you look older, not in a bad way, in a mature way- I love it!

    @cocobellaf Oh wow 4 weeks ahead is crazy! I always hear that plus or minus a week is normal but I haven't heard someone being that far ahead. I hope it's not pre-e and your health is ok! Have a great time at the work shower!

  • @untouchablets - Ugh, I hate people who try to discourage you from being healthier.  Is she unhealthy?  It usually stems from a sense of competition, which is really sad if that is where it is coming from.  I mean, I'm a walking walrus lately and H got P90x for his birthday because that is what I know he wanted .... if that ain't love, I don't know what is.  ;) 
  • @minskat30 Yeah she is unhealthy but she's into fad diets. She knows what I'm doing is working (tracking calories by using a food scale, exercising) but insists that she just CANNOT do that and she's lost weight in other ways before so she'll do it again. Except it all came back before. So I'm going to treat it like politics and not talk to her about it...(she's a republican! :scream: )
  • @minskat30 UGH....I went into labor being hairy and when the doctors decided that I needed to have a c-section they totally shaved me down there lol. I was totally not even caring then but it makes me laugh now because it was pretty hairy.

  • Morning ladies,

    P&R this morning I'm in such a crap mood after having what feels like the worst morning and I just need to vent

    Run down of what happened
    - almost missed bus {legit ran out of my apt to it right there - luckily it stayed}
    - since it's raining, bus had drips every where and couldn't get another seat
    - packed {makes me feel claustrophobic}
    - went to Starbucks and burnt thumb because when trying to grab my drink my hand got really shakey {left over nerves from the bus}
    - almost fell trying to climb the hill to the sidewalk
    - splashed twice because PEOPLE DON'T WATCH WHEN TURNING CORNERS
    - tripped twice getting upstairs of my building because my boots are wet

    Urg .... I'm hoping the rest of the day is better!

    I'll be back later .... I have a bunch of photocopying to do for a file coming in later
