Wedding Woes

Tuesday!

I have been MIA lately because work and life have just been extremely hectic! We signed the paperwork for the new house yesterday and our other house went live on the mls/Zillow,ect. We are going to be doing showing this weekend and I am crossing all the things that it goes quickly!

We get the keys for the new house on Tuesday. We have some things that need to get done right away, like changing locks and putting a door going into the house from the garage (they just have a storm door). After that, we have decided our focus is to get the girls rooms set up first, and then will slowly work our way room by room.

I am starting to have twangs of feelings about leaving the old house since it was our first home and the home my girls took their first steps and just so many memories. I am excited for the new chapter and I know we will be making new memories though.

Here are some photos of the old house, I think they look nice. I now hate my living room color and am excited for a fresh start to change things up. Lol

Re: Tuesday!

  • Old house looks great in these photos, really nice job!
  • The house looks great! I'm sure it won't be on the market long. Good luck!
  • Wahoo @Jstump2!  I totally get the wistfulness for the old house.  It's where all the things happened.  But yay for the new memories you'll make in the new house.

    It's Tuesday.  Blerg.

    Oh show rec, The White Lotus on HBOMax.  It's a dark comedy and the cast is great.
  • Congrats on the house!

    SSDD here. I'm sleepy and just not feeling motivated to do much. Thankfully it finally looks like no rain today in the forecast so I'll be sitting by the pool as soon as I get home.
  • Potty training day 2 is going about same as day 1.
    Baby camel.

    Last night she ended up being so tired by bed time she had a meltdown over a diaper.
    We're trying to "enforce" that diapers are only for sleep because she kept wanting a diaper on.
    I tried to ask her if she wanted to go to bed, because if she wants a diaper it means bed time.
    Nope. Just frustration.
    We got her on the potty for a bit and laughing {thinking it'd help} but nope. Changed her mood at least.

    M got her this morning and he said her diaper was so full, she must have peed all night.
    I have some extra ideas in my back pocket that we don't want to get to that point, but we're doing this. This will happen.
  • I heard potty training is awful so may the force be with you @MissKittyDanger
    love your old house @Jstump2, with this fast paced market, I’m sure you’ll be good
    when does @levioosa get back? I’m sure she’s having fun soaking up the rays, but I have a medspa question for her lol.

    I had my dental appointment last ngiht.  I like my new dentist and the hygienist a lot, but the receptionist has no bedside manner and is so abrupt and rude, I’m amazed she’s had her job in customer service as long as she had.  But I’m there for the dentist and dental hygenist, and that’s what matters.

  • @MissKittyDanger, she might not be ready for potty training yet. Making everyone frustrated isn't going to help the situation. Did she not pee all day long? That could lead to a UTI so don't recommend doing that.
    She peed her nap diaper and bedtime diaper.

    It was just day 1 so it's not unusual. M is trying extra fluids today. I reminded him about option of novelty cups, juice, pouches and popsicles.
    She has concept - she pulled her undies down and sat on the potty, but couldn't relax enough to pee.
    He's going to try "blowing bubble in drink" and getting her to laugh before nap.

    It's weird, but my "drastic measure" {as M refers to it as} won't be until later in the week, but apparently my mum peed in the potty in front of me and it helped. I have that as an option for BK

    Oh I don’t think that’s drastic or weird!

    Wait..there are kids that have never seen their moms pee?! That just blew my mind. Lol. My toddler follows her big sister to the bathroom Everytime and I think that is why she is potty training so well. I about died yesterday when I walked in on 5 helping wipe her sister. Lol! She likes to pretend to be her mommy sometimes.

    LOL, right?  I think it's only been the last year or so that DefConn has stopped busting in on me changing or using the bathroom.  Hell, I'll still holler for him to bring me TP if I don't realize I'm out before I sit down.

    Umm yah baby M has definitely seen me pee. Am I doing this wrong?

    In my case, yes in adult toilet. Not her potty. I mean I may pee in her potty {to show it's used for pee}

    FYI - I have tried sitting her on toilet after me. Nope. She gets freaked.

    It feels it. I've already told M if I pee in her potty, it'll be in our bathroom lol
    I weirdly have more issue M seeing me do it than actually doing it lmao
  •  Agreed @short+sassy, I think I’m going to have to put my mask on in general areas again. I’m seeing more and more of it anyway.

    Well he doesn’t need to watch you since he already knows pee goes in the potty!

    I'm confused. Are you just going to pee on her potty? Or she hasn't seen you use the bathroom at all??

    Y'all, I need you to send all your vibes, good juju, prayers, offerings, etc. to family court here on Friday.  My sister, BIL, and most importantly, my foster nephew, need things to move to the next phase of the process because what is going on right now is not working.  It's hurting foster nephew so badly and he doesn't deserve being jerked around by adults/the system because of what feels like arbitrary BS.  I obviously can't give details, but I hope that the people who make the decisions see that they've given all the avenues for change/improvement and there hasn't been any.
    All the good thoughts and prayers to your foster nephew and his family!

  • I'm masking when in public places. I just don't trust the general public to be vaccinated plus the delta variant. I know the vaccine is effective (not as effective though) against it but why take a chance. We masked in Ohio this weekend when we were out and about. Some people wore them but the majority did not.

    I'm waiting on a blueberry delivery. I have a friend that has a home on a lake in northern Indiana. The farm stand near them gets the most delicious blueberries from Michigan. I buy 30 pounds. We eat about 10 of them fresh and I freeze the rest to get me through the year! They are so sweet-tart that they taste like candy. H is going to investigate the peach truck. We haven't been able to get SC peaches for a few years because we haven't been down there during peach season. I'm craving a cobbler. Anyone have any experience with The Peach Truck?
  • How old is BK again?

    DefConn was 'late' on all the things; walking, PTing, moving from a crib (I mean that was us, LOL), etc.  I started him on the potty around when he turned three and he could have given less of a shit (in the potty, natch).  I waited a few months and he was good to go after about 2 days, outside of nap or bedtime.

    Also, he hated his potty on the floor.  The ring on the toilet seat did the trick.  And I can see how putting her on the potty w/o a ring could freak her out (if you're doing that).  It's a big hole for a little booty.
  • I usually get a case of peaches from here and they are amazing:

  • @Jstump2, the house looks great! I'm sure it's going to sell fast in this market.

    Tuesdays are still the shittiest days. I took Friday off, so this week now feels even slower. I just made dinner plans with one of my oldest friends for next week. I'm really excited and hope it doesn't fall though, since I haven't seen her in months. We used to hang out every weekend, but we used to be 25 with a lot fewer responsibilities.
  • I haven't gotten peaches from The Peach Truck @ILoveBeachMusic, but I know a few people who have and been happy with them.  We just don't eat a ton of peaches around our house.

    She has seen me {she likes to flush} so I am going to pee in her potty. {maybe}

    Just 3 at end of May

    We have 3 different potties - 2 of them are able to be on toilet themselves so she can kinda grow with it {one becomes a stool also - summer infant if you're curious}
    We may swap potties tonight in case that's issue

    She's used the potty multiple times at daycare - always just really good timing.

    @NBSquared2017 those are amazing pictures.

    Still feeling really good.  Putting in various apps for part time jobs/gigs.  Started the process of gathering the info for the certification I need last night.  Started looking through my things and kind of making lists of "I can't live without this" vs. "this is replaceable".  I've always been pretty minimalist, so besides my kitchen stuffs and the newest furniture I've bought myself, I think most of it will go.  I'm debating on my gaming stuff.  I really haven't touched it for a year, but not having it feels painful.  It would be some easy $ though.  The storage box from UHaul is pricey, but I think it's comparable and easier than other options for moving cross country and it's cheaper per month than a storage unit.  .  Meeting with a good friend tomorrow who is also from CA and has moved cross country multiple times to pick his brain.

    So far, responses have been good from everyone except my aunt.  Honestly, I think she still sees me as this little girl/college person and treats me as such.  She was immediately full of...somewhat negative questions, which btw, I had answers for.  Because I've been thinking about moving for literally years, and specifically researching for months, I've just finally made the decision and gotten things aligned...she just doesn't know that.  But she still has that "we'll see" sound in her voice.  I got a little annoyed and said, "Remember when you didn't think I could run a midsized Pride by myself?  And I not only did it, but I excelled at it and doubled it in size and money?  Watch me."  She did agree with that at least.

    SSDD at work.  Nothing much else going on.  I'm also glad I'm picking up a part time job, b/c it'll help with the choice to not drink as well.
  • @NBSquared2017 awe you all look great! All smiles in first shot!
